Selecting a baby’s name with a teacher spouse is an absolute nightmare!
Go for foreign names in that case. I have yet to find another American student named my daughter's name. My other daughters have more common names, but for my first born, yep foreign name worked best.
Assuming you want children, lol.
Ikr! Makes me glad I’m planning on adopting so I don’t have to pick a name 😂
My husband and I are both teachers . . . we have had to trash so many names we would otherwise love. Ended up going with old lady names for our daughter but we are at a complete stalemate for a boy name.
My husband and I are both teachers. We picked a few boy and girl names. The girl name I don’t know many people with the name. We love Riley as well for boy or girl.
Lol! I was pregnant during our first year back in school during covid. They lowered the passing period to 2 minutes so that the students wouldn't hang out in the halls breathing eachothers air. My vice principal had to come into my classroom every other period during the bell ringer so that I could run to the bathroom! Lol! I'm an art teacher, and he would leave a doodle on my white board. Made my day!
The crying while reading books is so relatable. The Giving Tree breaks me every time and my kid is 7 now. She knows I'll cry while we are reading it together. She still keeps going back to it knowing what will happen.
This has to be in the Top 5 of Bored Teachers!!! Hilarious!!! I’m rollin’!!
I remember when I was pregnant I wanted cheezits and I had a box of them someone had gotten for me for Christmas (don’t ask haha.) A student had the AUDACITY to ask me for some. Before I could respond, my co-teacher goes, “Boy, you don’t ask a pregnant woman for her food!” Lol it was great
I am SO glad I had my children before I began teaching - because I totally see how naming a child after the volume of students we have would be difficult!
The goldfish falling to the floor might have been intended or it was an accidental perfection in detail, but it was perfect.
Damn. I missed my chance as a history teacher to name my son Ticon Deroga. Instead poor kid got Courtland. Oh well he has lived with it 18 years. This video is so true.
'Let's talk about the water cycle' that had me dying
I remember when I was pregnant with my son 13 years ago. Our last name is Lambert. All my students wanted me to name him Adam. Yup. Adam Lambert had just won American Idol. The irony is, my son is an awesome singer. 😮
"Nicolas" "NO" lmaoooo
I student taught while pregnant and taught right up to the day before my due date. My 9th grade students were all SOOO worried that my water would break during class. They had a whole plan they came up with if I went into labor while teaching. Thankfully I made it to my due date, otherwise I would have had to go back to make up days. I graduated from college a month after his birth and got in the bare minimum required days for student teaching.
I'm pregnant right now (and a teacher) and this so so incredibly accurate! hahaha.. the only thing i'd add is me closing my eyes for like 30 seconds at a time during recess duty to get a quick nap and hoping nothing happens 😂
I so love longer videos of Miss Smith, she is incredible
My dad was a teacher, so I've only met one other person with my first name in my life & she grew up in a small European country I'd never heard of. My brother got a name that ended up fairly popular for his gen, but I think my dad never had one as a student, so he'd consider both namings to be a success!
Nicholas... NO 😳
*so accurate* 😂
The Wild Robot gave me the those feelings too!
Being a K12 music teacher and having taught thousands of kids, I can totally relate to the naming difficulties.
That was my problem! By the time I had my child, I had taught over 4,000 kids! I didn’t ask for the gender ahead of time. Going into labor I had 1 girl name and no boy name. Good thing she cooperated!
Congratulations! This was awesome.
I knew a mom with ten kids and the last one was named BayBee. I get that.
🤣🤣🤣
I like that the husband is also a teacher.... LOL
"The baby wants a cheezit"
My teacher buddy across the hall and I always covered for each other when we had an urgent need for the bathroom. Thank goodness the bathroom was close to us!
My sweet third grade girls’ made me a list of one hundred first and middle boy names from which to choose.🥰
I remember being in the staff lounge with teachers and having conversations about names. They ruined my favorite names!!
I KNEW she was going back for the pasta sauce- rofl!
For dipping sauce? 😂
“Nicoles?”
“N O”
I had terrible morning sickness! I was puking under my desk while they watched a high volume movie lol. I taught by an open window in January in the north so I wouldn’t be sick the entire time. Terrible lol.
Oh, you poor thing!
Awww! 😢
Sharpay is my vote!
Lol!I was pregnant during my preschool teaching days and I experienced many of these. I fell a couple of times cause the kids bumped me and picking a name was a nightmare!
My para and I were pregnant at the same time. Talk about hormones!
Knew you were going back for the spaghetti sauce 🤣
I love your videos so much!! Do you have your own channel? 💗💗💗
The baseball bat in the corner is brilliant. :)
Congrats have a healthy safe pregnancy Journey ❤
I teach music and so I have 165 students this year alone but some names from the past...oh boy I have some interesting names for you. Whisper, Birch, Willowanne, Slate, Steele, Radcliffe, Pebbles...Little brother was not Bam Bam. LOL it was Rock....and I understand the Goldfish and fluff thing. You are looking amazing!
None of my students' names have come close to some of the names of kids I went to school with in a small town in Utah...just to name a few, there were a handful of "St" names that stood out, Stoney, Stormy, & Staylee. Not quite as out there as Pebbles, but still pretty out there.
This was so funny...because it was so true!!
I was pregnant with my daughter last year. I just had not control of my temper. Those poor kids 🤣.
Myself, my sister in law, my father in law and my mother in law have or have had careers in teaching, and my husband is the odd one out, so I wonder what naming the baby would look like then! ☺️
"Nicholas" NO!
I am a substitute teacher. I really don't like subbing for Kindergarten or Preschool or elementary. Why? Here's why: they constantly wash their hands and constantly make a mess. They come inside the classroom and wash their hands (every single student). Then they are about to go to recess and line up and wash their hands all over again. Then when they come back again. Then same thing before and after lunch. Then same thing before and after second recess. Oh and if they have P.E., then before and after again. And they line up (every single one), and they make a mess. It's so annoying. Can you make a video about that?
Yep....that's what we do. Keeping the germs down as much as we can. But sometimes we're still stricken with "cooties". Hand-foot-mouth, colds etc. We wash so much my hands get chapped. Lord give me hand lotion. But we do what we gotta do.
My sister had a student whose name was "Iamtheocean". I kid you not.
What?! OMG!
@@brendahudson2816 I know, lol. Teachers have the best stories. True stories.
Then your children name their children and use some of “those” names.
My 5th grade teacher was pregnant. She almost named her baby after me. It would have been very cool for me but maybe a little weird too.
Dude, the end of The Wild Robot is so sad. You do NOT have to be pregnant to start crying!
Sha-ah tovah -- Hebrew for "a good hour" -- meaning that your labor should only last an hour.
Ticonderoga!
Yep, I'm sure a boy named Sharpie won't get anything drawn all over his face in high school.
Likewise, a girl named Sharpay will never be barked at or called "Big Dog".
I see you...
Not a teacher but I felt not being able to zip the coat XD Nine months now and it’s an unzipped jacket winter XD
Did anyone try "ABC " as a Name yet ?
ABCDE was.
@Sophie Francis Yes, Mine is Nicknamed "ABC" and I have a "JAB" too. They are my children's initials and their Nicknames❣️
Yup
In Utah, I've heard of an Abcde (pronounced Ab-sid-ee) 😅
@@gabriellasmith3699What?! Good luck with that one.
😂😂
😆😆😆🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂
I couldn't do it
omg 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Your forgetting your swelling feet and gestational diabetic I was dizzy most times.
Sharpie. SharPAY… if it’s a girl 💁🏼♂️
Ticon Deroga
Have your teaching outfits changed at all as you've gotten farther along?
Ok
