I’m not religious and my dreams for the future are very different from yours, but I still really enjoy these devotionals. They still contain a message I needed.

I liked a comment in this thread about maybe the churches aren't doing their jobs so God decided to speak to us through his shepherds, and so this is my 'church', with Jess. No dress code, no judgment, and the Words delve deep into my heart where I need them most. A bothersome side effect is eye watering, but it's cleansing, so I don't mind much. ❤☀✌
While I was raised Catholic and completed all the "milestones" to an adult member of the church, I never really felt connection or faith to any of it. But damn girl, I listen to every one of your devotionals and my heart always feels so full afterwords. Thank you! Also, you helped me grow my best tomatoes ever last year and I come here for that too.❤
The churches aren't feeding the flock. They have become like Pharisees of old. Therefore God has chosen common men and women to go forth and feed His flock. Just like He chose His disciples.
I grew up catholic too.
Then ditched it all. I agree with letting your love guide your decisions and avoiding fear. This is excellent practice. But. ...
No gods. Prayer is simply talking through your problems to yourself.
Notice how Jess, who is a kind and generous person, believes in a kind & generous god. We are not made in the image of god. We create gods to conform to what we value. .
Consider it fellow ex catholic.
I enjoy this channel too, but get frustrated during these devotionals because it is obvious that Jessica is a profound thinker, and she cares very much about people. But she gives all the credit to an imaginary being. I wish she would see how beautiful she is and how beautiful and unfair the world is in reality.

I've been with you for awhile, since way before this video. I watched this devotional when it first came out and after watching your Homesteader's Devotional you just released, I had to come back and watch this one. This one moves me so much - I can't put it into words. Sweet woman - there are things that the Father nudges me on and then I watch your devotionals and I'm like just like, WOW - this is what Father was saying! For instance, when you talked about the putting on the apron in the Homesteader's Devotional, there are times when I just feel Father telling me to get in the kitchen and just make a meal for my family - the most basic thing - if that's all I can muster to do then do it. He works through you - no doubt. And I'm not above admitting there were certain times that I felt bitterness when I watched your channel and the "it must be nice" but your honesty and vulnerability reminds me that we are all imperfect and at the end of the day, as I've watched you grow, I can't help but feel proud of you and happy for you and just can't wait to see what the Father empowers you to accomplish.

Beautifully Said! Thank you! During difficult times there is calm in faithfully doing what is in front of us like laundry, dishes, work, and gardening! Practicing praise in the Father's presence in all things and trusting that He Is, Was, and Will forever be on the throne!
The garden vision you saw may have been the multiplication of gardens you have inspired in others.

Tuesday, while seeding squashes for summer, I seeded the few plants I had planned & stopped. In my head I heard, no, plant more. So I did. Then I heard again, no, plant more. Then images of all my fsmily members ran through my head. 🙂 So I planted more. 15 plants...to start.
The good Lord speaks through that still, small voice.

I'm the same way. Anxious introvert who tries to avoid things like scary movies and a lot of graphic negative news. Im also literal and don't always "get" the joke. I feel ya!
Wow...I'm exactly the same way. It's actually nice to know others are out there. I do know giving my live to Jesus helped more than I ever dreamed. I still won't watch the scary movies and tend to ignore the news except for weather. It is not anxiety anymore...just a total distaste for it all.
I am no longer anxious but an introvert for life. I avoid crowds, being at the store very early before anyone is my comfort zone. Good to know I am not alone.
I'm also an introvert who is literal and doesn't get jokes.

As someone who grew up Christian but was essentially shunned from the church for certain....differences, it is so refreshing to see your message. It's something people can understand and get on board with no matter what religion they follow and no matter what walk of life they come from.
I only discovered your videos about a month ago but I've been watching them all and you have inspired so much of my garden and changed how I look at my food.
I'm a fledgeling virologist (I've been a veterinarian for 10 years but I am working on a PhD with a focus on transboundary and emerging diseases of livestock) - and your sense of calm and sharing is what the world needs right now. There has been a leadership vacuum at the top of government for some time now, and so it is going to become imperative that people who have the influence and the talent take on the mantle. This sort of message is what needs to be amplified (that and those who are in the higher echelons of the CDC/WHO). Thank you again for your message of calm, love, and positivity. It is a beacon to those in fear.

I ask God for signs that He wants me to do such and such. When I get my sign I feel at peace. And I ask Him to show me how I should go about it. Then I leave it. And bit by bit the picture forms until it becomes clear what my path is to be. I don't sweat it anymore.

I work in a grocery store(20years). Lately I see so many Broken People...breaks my heart so badly. My only comfort is prayer and blessings. From your devotionals I've learned it's ok to bless people out loud. God is infinitely powerful.

This video came across today and I chose it because of the title but did not at first notice the date. Very thoughtful, heartfelt, wise and Biblically true words you spoke and even today, almost four years later, made an impact directly on me. Funny how the message you need to hear seem to come up from every direction right when you need to hear them - or at least that is my experience. And wow, that story! What a picture of what the Shepherd is and what He is not! To connect what you said towards the end with that story from the beginning, to ask oneself if that(those) thought(s) are from the Shepherd or from the butcher?Would make a difference, hopefully, in how/what we think when we begin to get tangled up with fear and doubt. It's a great devotional you shared, thank you! I was stopping it and replaying so I could write several things down for my journal and also to pass along (really the whole video) to someone else who I know needs to hear this too. "What will you feed & water in the garden of your mind?...What seeds to plant? ..." And enthroning fear vs how you explained enthroning Jesus and how we can become callused to words but that should not be with God's Word. Really beautiful and was moving, very rich and helpful and also filled with His fruit! Thank you!

Beautiful devotional. I used to try and fix things until I made myself sick. I finally realized I had to leave it to God. I felt at peace in my heart and I'm able to believe it will be okay. I give thanks every day. Blessings.

This has been such a beautiful testimony. Thank you so much for sharing. I don't feel fear about this situation but since I developed anxiety from my time in service, I have struggled hearing the Shepherd. I struggle with discernment on whether something is what I want or God wants for me and I know that's not always mutually exclusive. I struggle with the Panic that is so overwhelming with flashbacks that sights, sounds, and smells bring and I still don't understand why I still have these issues after praying so much over them. I needed to hear this today. ❤
