  • The film "The Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" has emerged as one of the highest-grossing films of 2024, boasting a production budget of $160 million. In just its second weekend, the film has already generated around $240 million in global box office revenue. It is the fourth film in 2024 to surpass the $200 million mark, achieving this in less than 10 days. However, it still requires an additional $80 million to cover expenses such as marketing, royalties, and the film's budget in order to break even. That is the current statistical data for the Kingdom as of the conclusion of the second weekend. In this video, we will explore a topic that has received little attention from most enthusiasts of apes: the extent of intelligence and societal advancement among apes in the animal kingdom. Our objective is to engage in a discussion about the movie without avoiding any significant plot revelations.

I think it's impossible to assign them to a historical age since they have partial access to a lot of human ruins/technology. But they are nowhere near the level of the Romans, who were well ahead of the Iron Age if anything. The ape society reminds me of a chalcolithic or early bronze age one, where they have their first kingdoms and the beginnings of an advanced society, but are mostly tribal.

I truly believe in this story the orangutans were so smart that they started their own civilization.....they all were smart enough to go places that avoided the ape war and also were possibly smart enough to avoid conflict and find peace completely
    Edit
Adding this cause I'm watching rise of the planet of the apes and you can literally see Maurice has a whole group of orangutans with him. Some were very aggressive but that was after someone shop an ape. So they did it out of self defense

@Hlord-be4xx agreed but just because they found peace doesn't mean they aren't warriors.....they most likely also learned combat arts and know 100% how to defeat an enemy. They use non lethal methods. Like traps. Rock throwing cause they can literally throw boulders. Different methods they use like smoke screen or even stink bombs.....having thought ahead. Like we're talking about Maurice but more equipped with the experience. So therefore they would war with other tribes but likely don't want to and remain nomadic for a reason. If not nomadic it's likely they truly did find a sanctuary because orangutans are very adept to go high altitude maybe even making a jabariland type place. Who knows and id like to see it come to fruition. Even showing a king louey type character who became king and is stupid and is the reason orangutans went extinct because this ruler focused only on ruling not actually learning. Hence that would be the downfall of them is ignorance and them not willing to learn anymore

I've noticed that the Apes have much more human expressions as well as facial features compared to the previous trilogy, being a part of middle ground between the more simian ancestors and the human-like ones of the 60s.

It's honestly not shocking from a historical complex l, ape's are no different from humans. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if the apes did what the humans did in the beginning. That is creating a cure to some disease that gives humans the intelligence and reverting apes back to animals lol

Something to consider, in 300 years, Caesar original group would multiple dramatically and evidently splinter into various tribes. Like human tribal groups, they probably maintained a similar oral tradition, but not a written language. Unless carefully preserved, must human book would have deteriorated in 300 years.

Actually I’d say that they are more akin to post Fall of West Rome Germanic tribes, living in a more simplistic time surrounded by things no one can remake or know how to use except for some. Only cleric types know how to read and write etc.
It’s basically Right before Frankish empire
My guess, the future films will show the apes going back to human like civilisations and power structures, kinda like how many countries wanted to go back to the might of the Roman Empire

Necessity is the mother of invention, given their physical prowess and hair they won't have any reason to invent machines like humans do. As far as this franchise goes I think it has officially jumped the shark. The idea that satellites, telescopes, and advanced computers would last 300 years is laughable. Also even if say half of the remaining humans from war retained their intelligence and speech from the mutant virus 300 years is more then enough time to make a significant comeback in population, there should be millions of humans by now. Plus humans still live longer then apes, even without modern medicine with sanitation alone humans can live twice as long as apes in the wild.
Apes won't ask the big questions because it never crosses their minds, Humanity first

The original virus killed 99.8 % of the population. Then fighting and surviving probably killed anoyher half. Only then did the new strain emerge and make most of the remaining people mute and simple. So, probably 0.001 percent of the population has remained intelligent. I don't see humanity coming back from that in 300 years.
