Is it still possible to import an IPT file and edit it in fusion 360?
The only thing the program allows me to do nowadays is just opening the ipt object via internet browser...

Especially for prototyping It is absolutely idiotic of Autodesk that as a Fusion user I cannot send files to have manufactured by someone using inventor, and get the files back with CAM operations, so that version 2 and 3 do not require total CAM rework. It is insane that such a great collaboration platform cannot collaborate because Autodesk do not want to. It adds immmense costs to product development that data exchange does not work properly!
The association of parts, assemblies and manufacturing is what Fusion 360 promises, but it is being undermined by short sighted policies.

How does one move an assembly if you no longer have access to inventor? Individual parts work fine, but assembles crash everytime even if you tell it the parts.

Not working on free version. Says: this file can't be opened. I can upload the file, but can't open it on f360

So there's just no way to migrate Inventor files to Fusion in a way that preserves the feature tree? Y'know, the whole entire point of using a parametric modeling software?? That's YEARS of work (several hundred projects, more than a thousand ipt files) that I won't have access to now, just because my education license to Inventor is expiring. Unbelievable on Autodesk's part if that's really the case.

yeah personal fusion doesn't recognise ipt.

Indeed, quite bad that only feature-less bodies are imported. I can see that the tools used to create the features are different between Inventor and Fusion, so they can't be opened right away. Still, both coming from Autodesk, more compatibility and translation should (have been?) possible.
One hint: In Inventor, right-click sketches to export them to DXF or DWG. That can be a small help for re-use in Fusion or other programs, although that is just the sketch geometry without any dimensions, relations/dependencies etc., just better than nothing.

I am cold to use autodesk cloud for sent my work file. Why i should to tranfer my knowhow and why i should to share with autodesk. Ok. I am not designer for Space-X rocket but also my works, my files is important for me.
Therefore i will never send my file to share with autodesk. I understand, time is comunication, time is internet time. but no. autodesck can able to open my files directly from my computer but no, should send to autodesc cloud system. NO WAY...
