    Also!! You may need to change your shampoo because hair can change with hormones! My hair turned curly after I gave birth and now that I'm perimenopausal the texture of my hair is changing AGAIN.

    • @jvn
      @jvn  2 роки тому +81

      Yes! That is a fact! Your hair texture may change during life stages like child birth or your hair turning gray. You are correct. In that case, we can swap out shampoos and conditioners to be right for that hair texture. I was referring to just changing out throughout the year, but yes missed that part of changing throughout life! Thank you for flagging!

    The best thing I've learned from you is that my hair needs MUCH more moisture than I thought. I only shampoo my hair 2-3 times a week, but once I started using JVN shampoo & conditioner, I condition EVERY DAY, and my hair is lux. I also spray a little JVN conditioner mixed with water into my ends outside the shower, and use your scalp oil and shine drops. My hair looks twice as thick, curls like a dream, and looks better between shampoos.

    As a full fledged member of the thin/fine hair club I was totally guilty of not conditioning. I felt like it weighted my hair down and made it oily that much faster. I recently decided to give JVN products a try and I have to admit that I've totally been converted. Shampoo, Conditioner and Air Dry cream are now part of my regular routine and I couldn't be more happy with the results.

    I would love to see a video on tips & techniques for styling hair with female pattern hair loss. There are tons of videos out there on products that might help with hair regrowth or creating the illusion of more density, but very few videos on how to get the most out of what little hair I currently have. ☹ Help me, JVN. Omg THANK YOU for debunking the coconut oil myth. So many friends told me to use coconut oil as a moisturizer last winter when my hands were sooooo dry. 🌵 I rubbed coconut oil on my poor hands for dayyyyyyyyys and I swear it was making my skin worse? Make sense that to me that would not be moisturizing for hair as well. 😭 Maybe I’m wrong but that was my experience.

      I wonder if that’s what’s happened with me too? I never used it regularly, maybe because I felt like it wasn’t soaking in fast enough so it annoyed me? The best use I got out of it was to put it along my hair line when I colored my hair to help keep me from dyeing my skin!

    • @moonmedicineyoga
      @moonmedicineyoga 2 роки тому

      @@bitchenboutique6953 totally. It kinda sits on my skin and maybe feels like it’s going to hydrate it, but doesn’t. It’s like it never really absorbs. As soon as I wash my hands, they’re drier than ever. Still on the hunt for a beautiful natural moisturizer without too many additives. JVN?!? 😂😂

    I use coconut oil on my baby hairs before shampooing. Then the oil gets washed off but leaves the hair underneath protected. I've grown them from 2 inches to 5-6. It's starting to look real good back there.

    I bought a satin head wrap "towel" from Kitsch and am in LOVE. It is the only thing I use on my hair after washing it now. It is super comfortable and absorbent, and nice in the winter when it is cooler in my condo. I usually wear it for anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour after a shower. When I take it off my hair is still damp, but dry enough to style. Love satin products for the hair!

    Now they’re saying air drying your hair is bad? I go to sleep with my hair damp on wash days, that’s probably bad too? But is it worse than blow drying? I am so confused. I do faithfully use a heat protectant.
    Also thank u so much, this was lots of good stuff.

    fun fact from a 42-year-old: I never actually understood most of the words in Torn except for 'torn' itself. but apparently there was 'sky' as well? 😅

    Can you still use coconut oil to as a pre-wash oil on your scalp? There seems to be some studies showing that it can be beneficial to helping with dry scalp.

    What about washing your hair every day (which I feel like I have to do to feel like my hair is clean) and going to sleep with wet hair? Those two are confusing. Thank you!

      Using good quality shampoo and washing it twice in the shower will clean your hair and you won’t need to wash it every day.
