Thanks ... making the most of a situation is what landscape photographers do. I really like the two images of the streaming water around the moss covered rocks.
I keep thinking that Iceland is the landscape photographer's mecca, but we have some stunning country right on our doorstep. Thanks for this showcase Andrew, I'll have to make the trek back to Tassie again.
Oh yeah that was a fun one!! I didn’t realise you actually managed to get something right up under the waterfall! Lovely tranquil little shot after that... and then our eyes both caught the same rocks in that little bend in the river towards the end there. A little bit of chaos is what this game is all about, right?!!
Thats when im in my element we haven't had much rain around Canberra way of late but when it does i love going up the Brindies and getting some wild stuff.
Cheers Derek, I think you're right my approach was to try and make sense of the chaos of the forest by using some of the greenery to frame the scene. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! :)
Thanks Ryan, it's a series I really enjoyed recording and I'm glad I've finally got round to releasing the second half. If all goes well, I'll publish the remaining episodes over the next few weeks.
A masochist at work but worth it. Real world photography. Not every day is blue sky with fluffy clouds. Your shots give the sense of a dank wild place Andrew.
So true Ruparje, if every day was blue skies, landscape photography might get a little boring. conditions like these while tough can produce some unique images, cheers! :)
Looks like your perseverance paid off! I am amazed that you got the shot of the falls Andrew! Love all of the images. Tasmania is an amazing place. Love your work!
Cheers Phil, the shot of the falls was a little soft as I had expected but it wasn't too bad given the conditions. Thanks for sharing your comment mate! :)
Loved seeing some more Tassie stuff Andrew. Certainly very trying conditions that's for sure. Hopefully you have more to come as I enjoyed that series immensely. Richard
Hi Richard, have you had much of a chance to do any night shooting in Tassie? Thanks so much for your comment mate, I'm glad you enjoyed the series, there are a few more to come! :)
@@Andrew_marr I'm actually going to Tassie in April to spend a week doing just that ... really looking forward to it and your videos along with the other boys have been really helping me set the scene for the trip. Really appreciate your work Andrew.
Mate I think you did a great justice to that scene with the two brooks. I couldn’t make too much sense of it, but that turned out great. Bloody tough, but rewarding waterfall area that’s for sure
Thank you Daniel, I glad you enjoyed this one. I attempted to share the conditions of the shoot which is not always easy through the videos. I appreciate the feedback! :)
Hi, Andrew. I subscribed to your channel some time ago and loved the series on Tasmania, and Iceland. I'm going back to Tassie with a mate in July/August this year to visit the same locations you did. Staying in airbnb, not camping (our wives will be with us). I hope to catch some images similar to what you got with Richard and Andrew last year. Also considering buying a 24-70 f4 to complement the 10-18 and 17-85 kit lens, and 100-400 I currently use.
When you haven't seen this opening sequence for a bit, it dosen't have give you goosebumps when you see it again, especially the look down over the waterfall. Despite your reservations Andrew, got yourself some great images there. hope the 2019 workshop is a success. Certainly would be interested to hear if there was another one planned in 2020.
Thanks Jim, yeah I enjoy the opening sequence and it had been a while since I had seen it so it was good to revisit it. If all goes well, there will be workshops in 2020! :)
@@Andrew_marr We got back there late 2018 for the first time in 22 years. My wife has a significant birthday in 2020 so we hear cradle mountain calling.
The photos are amazing. Curious to know how your camera gear handled getting wet and being in the cold. Did you have any issues with them not working or fogging up. Cheers Debbie
Great VLOG as always, some great images. Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to make the next Tassie trip it's a bit far from the Scottish Highlands where I live 👍😂
@@Andrew_marr Oh yeah Andrew, that would be Ideal 😁👍 I'd be up for that. West is best as they say for the Highlands. 😁 Give me a shout if ever you do think about it, be more than happy to point you in the direction of some great locations you'd enjoy shooting. 👍
Great video Andrew with some stunning shots. Whilst I'd really love to join the workshop, I just think it's be too confusing. A saturation of Andrew's is bad enough, but an Andrew Daw with an Andrew Dawes would be going too far:-)
Awesome Vlog Andrew, when is the Tassy trip? As i should be back from the States towards the Autumn part of the year. I wonder how the images would have turned out with with Fuji Medium format cameras and if they would be as water resistant as the D850 and X-T3?
Thank you Andrius, that's a nice number of subscribers, and I certainly appreciate every one of them. I get my music from through a music service so I don't have to worry about copyright infringement, I'll have to check what the song was called.
Wow , stunning scenery, lovely images.
Just found your channel and i like it alot. We need more nature in life. Thank you!

I must admit I do enjoy shooting in these conditions. You can end up with images that are unique. I'm looking forward to returning again this year.
The images certainly worked out and then some. Perfect motion and detail in the water. The greenery looks spectacular and frames the scenes nicely.
Cheers Derek, I think you're right my approach was to try and make sense of the chaos of the forest by using some of the greenery to frame the scene. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! :)
Great to see the Tassie series back! Great pics under trying conditions.

For images you didn’t expect to come to much that’s a fair old show! Nice to see more of your Tasmania trip, thanks Andrew.
Thanks Brian, it was tough going but luckily things start to dry out!

Now I can realize why so many travelers hit Tasmania while in Australia. Many thanks for amazing photos!
Great video editing. Thanks for the enjoyable content

Well done Andrew. Great images, in the circumstances !! Perseverance pays off. Hope the gear is all ok.
Thanks Ian, all the gear survived this remarkably well. Nikon and Fuji (vlogging camera), build very tough gear!
Nice pictures Andrew, love it!
Cheers Hans, It's not smooth sailing every time I go out! :)
Considering the conditions awesome photos.....😊
Thanks for that James, yeah tough conditions but a lot of fun! :)
Amazing. Like working in a hurricane and you still managed to bag a nice image.
Really enjoyed this
That’s some spot , wish I had similar here in Ireland
Images turned out great
Well done

I wish my images didn't work out that well. Great work as usual. Stunning images. Has me "homesick" for the state where my kids were born.
Haha, thanks very much, that's very kind. Do you get much of a chance to go back to Tassie?

Haha, sounds like a great reason to visit Cradle Mountain :)
Very nice work
Thanks so much Susan! :)
Beautiful video, loved the music through out.
Thanks for sharing your feedback Allan, the music certainly helps convey the mood, cheers! :)
brilliant vlog in bobbins conditions but some times the rubbish weather is better that the good well done andrew
Cheers Mark, absolutely agree with you mate. It's those conditions that can provide unique results.
Great video

Great imagery mate, sadly I can't make the Tassie trip this year but I'll keep an eye out for future workshops. :)
Thanks mate, that's a shame. There will be more workshops coming up! :)

Hi Wes, the workshop will run in July. I certainly tested the weather sealing of the D850 on this trip and it didn't skip a beat.
Hi Andrew. Wish I had enough money to join you guys on the workshop. May be one day..... :( Hope it goes well !
Tough conditions!
Yeah, I'm glad I'm not shooting in these conditions all the time!
Hi! Nice video. I just realized at the moment You had 33 333 subscribers 😀 What's the music playing in the video?

I worry about your gears. Are these still Ok?
Haha, it's all good. Nikon builds fantastic products that are meant to be used in these sorts of conditions. All the gear survived extremely well.
