This video is honestly one of the best yugioh content videos I have ever watcher. Excellent game analysis really detailed. Frazier Smith you sir are the goat of hero frog and I consider you the guy to watch in order to learn the deck. I love hero frogs so everything came together quite nicely.
@@imnerdpodcastany time a high level player is willing to give an in depth look at their gameplay, I personally am always happy to watch. It's very helpful to hear your reasoning on why you made certain plays, especially when you have multiple options available. Thanks for taking the time to put it together.
Hero Frog best deck :) Congrats! Side note: I've always thought Hero Beat beats Frogs. Like on paper to me, I feel like it's clear they should win theoretically, but the amount of Hero Beat pilots experienced in playing against frogs wasn't very high (I was 8-1 in tourney for Frog-Hero Beat) and I still thought it was hard. I would have a chat with your teammate prostorm because he's pretty much the first one to make me start thinking more heavily about the Hero Beat matchup. You could also talk to me about it, but it might be more efficient to hear from the source.
We talk all the time now, but I have enough evidence from all the losses I’ve accumulated against that deck this year. I now think it’s way more favored for my deck against them with the adjustments I’ve made.
Loved this deep dive into frogs and your mentality in playing your games, really makes me want to play the deck. You mentioned you might try adding in a third super poly in the side. Do you have an idea of which card you'd cut for it? Given your feelings about crow, maybe one copy of that? Congrats on the top btw, you played out of your mind in some of these games, crazy!
Thank you. I haven’t gone back to edit the deck yet but crow was definitely the worst card in my side for that tournament. It’s definitely something to consider.
Lmao brooooooo 😂😂😂 literally ATrueHero and Stango had to alert me that the match was up early!!! Such a crazy experience lol Next time I will play much better, I promise 😁 And thank you - also congrats to you on winning it all!
Yeah that was super unlucky for you that that was the round that started early. Big fan of the channel and you as a player, so was excited to finally get a serious game against ya. Looking forward to the rematch :)
Also I think at 1:43:30, he could have been playing around your raigeki break by not using whirlwind. By summoning Shura he might be trying to bait the break cause you might use it to stop him walking over treeborn, then he’s free to play BW next turn?
it was very popular at the start of 2022, so much so that people thought it was straight up the best deck. The meta keeps shifting, so now that oppression isn't all over the place it's way better.
11:20 you bring up a very good point d.d. crow is not good against diva hero beat and I have seen this happened multiple times in the war league replays as welll where people side crow against that deck and it just ends up being a dead card/cards pretty much every time I have seen it. plus some people are just good at playing around it as well if they only have 1 hero in gy they will summon one before miracle.I lost in round 4 as well cause i didnt think it would start as early due to game 1 loss by time welp
GGs man, good run. I'm not gonna lie, after I got the Ha Des on your dupe game 1 I thought it was GG but heavy into BC into caius was too brutal. I solemn because I thought even if you specialed a swap and caius/raiza, I would still have my tomato and could OTK you with call the next turn. Didn't think about brain con and that destroyed me LMAO. Then caught me so badly with my pants down with BRD and it was GG. Game 2, I shoud've synchroed with GZ and killed dupe and let snowman eater run its course on my synchro but got greedy. Since I sent back sub, you weren't finding treeborn, and it was a gamestate we were both being patient I wanted to greed out ha des and stardust with the plague and book of life the next turn while sitting on GZ one turn. But it was a misplay and too greedy. Then for the turn I popped off, I KNEW you HAD to have another fader or gorz since you pitched one with break with 6 cards in hand. But I knew you had raiza and that you knew I didn't have a summon trap. And if you look at my hand and facedowns, my only play was to pop off or set a monster and get raiza locked so I just had to pray it was gorz you had and not the second fader. Turns out you had both so LMAO. Once the fader dropped I knew you had the econ from the dustshoot and that you were about to have your way with me 😂. Anyways GG, until next one 🐐👑
Very well stated, and you honestly played well. I mentioned in the video how you kept up with my card advantage for a while, which is not something that typically happens. Frogs is a deck that is always holding a “crack back” play-at least the good players do, so it’s rare that a single turn will ever cripple the deck completely. Usually takes 2 stops. I enjoyed playing you though and maybe we’ll get a rematch in the future.
All good my friend , regarding why i held whirlwind when you had Ocean is pretty simple , i know you play raigekis , if you raigeki/stop my summon wich is very likely if you summon ocean , you can follow up with stratos destroying whirlwind wich leaves me with no follow up , so if shura resolves im already in a fine spot to hold whirlwind
@@imnerdpodcast It's not only about that , it's also about the fact that your stratos run into my bth ... instead of going on whirlwind and you getting +1 ..
I get why you made changes (losing to agressive decks) , but isnt this deck (with only 4 Monarchs) stripped of its power plays (play a monarch) too much? All the effort to get all the bad Frogs into your deck (incl. 2 treeborns) to then only have 4 Monarchs to profit from them seems a bit too little to me, esp. with 2 EC and 1 Soul main. I know technically you count the Junk/Evil Mali as Power play too but still, didnt you feel sometimes the power play was missing? i just watched a few games and there were def. moments.
You can only normal summon once per turn lol Also, I have miracle fusion and regular beatdown with stratos + alius. I think it’s a common misconception that you NEED to play a high monarch count for the deck to function.
@@imnerdpodcast what I mean is from my experience I def. almost always want the option to summon a monarch/dark dust etc., as thats the best normal summon in the game, in almost every situation. I had a build with just 5 Monarchs at one point and was def. missing the power! Thats why I formulated it as a question, how you experienced it. Ultimately our builds are not far off from each others but the lower NS-Powerplay-count def. caught my eye!

Wow, thanks!
Congrats on the top 8 finish, well deserved!
Thank, ATrueHero!
There’s a hero in all of us indeed 😁
this is very great in depth content! glad to hear the really in depth reasoning behind running every card in the deck
Thank you - I thought it might be too much but maybe some people would appreciate it

Congrats bro! Keeping us Frog players on the map. Well deserved 🙏🏼
Thank you 🖤🖤🖤
For me - new to edison - that is a great showcase of not only your tournament journey but also to the format.
thank you -- you can look forward to more Edison content :)
Congrats on the top ,this was a pleasure to watch

Now that I net decked your Indy list, we need something like this again 😅
I wish there were replays somehow

That shower story had me dying 🤣
Congrats on the run!
Thanks Cor!
Ooh snowman eater in the side. Well deserved top!
Thank you 🖤
Bro half way into the deck and no monarch is the frog struggle. 😂
It truly is lol
Why only one raiza? I’ve been cutting him back too just wanna know.
Tight on space
I played this at local’s tonight. Only three rounds and I got a buy. 2-0 all my opponents but I was kinda mad I didn’t get to play more with it.

Top 12 is a thing that recently has been implemented in the magic community the point is to try to eliminate tie breakers
