St. John Damascene and Aristotle deduced this without quantum theory. However, to make a non-physics point that people often overlook. If the Christian God exists, he is a God that will fix what he has broken and ensure not only justice but mercy. That's contained in the concept, so it doesn't make sense to criticize the concept by saying that in this temporal domain we observe apparent suffering. The gospel is that we can give everything and sacrifice everything and God will restore us. It's not that we should bury our money rather than invest it fully. Take risks in this life, carry a cross, and suffer. Criticisms that God would not want people to have suffering and challenges are completely beside the point.
