Great video! I always enjoy these weekly roundup videos. I also want to say, THANK YOU for always burning candles throughly before doing post burn reviews. It is so appreciated. I too, wish Kringle would restock well received scents more frequently. And, yes, wish Homeworx would return to their former glory. That Expresso Martini was released last year as part of the QVC CIJ TSV (wow, that's a lot of abbreviations 😆). That version of Expresso Martini was very boozy but was the strongest scent amongst the 7 fragrances offered in that TSV. 💜
I have always preferred the reviews of candles have have been burned multiple times. For me personally I think that is due to the amount of damage I caused at our last house in terms of soot from candle burning. I learned A LOT after that. After repainting absolutely EVERYTHING from top to bottom, including doors I am pretty hard core about the burn quality. There is no way I can financially make that mistake here because I had to hire someone to paint this house. The ceilings are WAY higher and there is no way for me to reach them without breaking my neck lol. I see value in all types of reviews. You just have to find the people that you identify with the most I think in terms of what is of value in the product. So appreciate you being here!
Back in 2018 HomeWorx candles were mostly still made in the USA and I think I remember that’s the year when they moved candle production to Viet Nam. I am not a ‘candle historian’, lol, but I seem to remember that. It may just be my imagination, but it seemed to the USA made candles gave better performance. I am looking forward to hearing about the new Kringle fall collection. Although I really am not ready for fall melting just yet, so I think I’ll wait until September and make a combined Kringle order for new fall and new holiday fragrances that usually are released then.
Yes, I think that is when that changeover happened from what I recall as well. I actually wonder if back then he was having the candles poured at the same factory here in the US that does the candles for Nest. I get he has an "in" there 🤣. Listen, I'd so love to have them go back to that factory. They really seemed to be a bit more vigilant about quality control I feel like.
Bum Bum cream is epic. I have all the things, too. In the middle of the winter I like to smell like summer! I love a good peach and a good raspberry! I snapped a wick the other day. I just rolled my eyes at myself. I got 3 raspberry rose'. I couldn't help myself. Have a great weekend ❌️ ⭕️
You inspired me to light up my Slatkin & Co. Caribbean Salsa and literally the wicks just dissolved. 😢 Into the crock it goes. I also started my Unicorn Poop, and oh it’s lovely. ❤
Ha! It happened to you to. What is it with these wicks just giving out. I had no idea those had a damn lifespan lol! I had one of the HUGE 3 wicks in Caribbean Salsa... do you remember when they has a size above the standard 3 wick size??? They were huge. Miss those.
Morning, Happy Saturday. BBW Firecracker Pop with Yankee's Home Classics Island Getaway was a nice pairing with Pop taking over for a bit. It's done and finished last night. Goose Creek's Watermelon Lemonade will be next. Blueberry Milkshake looks really good. Christmas in July with Christmas Cupcake, nice. My Pop extinguished itself with one wick going out yesterday, little frustrating but two were lit and burned the wax down. Congrats on avoiding the SAS haul Melanie :D Since you love peaches, don't forget the song "Peaches" by The Presidents of The United States band. Nice roundup.

I still highly suggest that you find Yankee's Coconut Milk, Passionfruit Kiwi Smoothie, and Woodwick's Island Coconut and Sugared Coconut to purchase and do reviews for, they're all amazing to my nose yet not sure if you'll like Coconut Milk, it smells true to me. Happy candle hunting!

I just finished filming and I am editing now! They have such good variation! A nice selection of gourmand, fresh and fall "fruity". There is also a pomander so you know I compared that one to my beloved lol!

Happy weekend, Melanie! I have a HomeWorx Golden Guava 4-wick from 2019 that I got second hand that I'm working on. Unfortunately it's turned into a mess... it started getting puny wicks, so I poured some of the wax off, then two of the wicks just refused to stay lit. The other two wicks are doing fine and their clips are now visible. I'm almost to the end of the candle so I'll go ahead and finish it, but it is annoying to not be able to finish a candle in the normal way (if that makes sense). I also wanted to mention, regarding Country Candle and the burn performance, this pertains to their paraffin formula... I have experienced the flames getting very low after about the 3rd or 4th burn on two separate candles (Sunday Funday and Golden Mums & Honeycrisp). They were so low to the point where even very carefully moving the candle resulted in the flames going out. In both instances I ended up pouring the melted wax out, and that solved the problem. I know the Country Candles are now 100% soy, but I know you mentioned earlier in the spring that you were experiencing low flames on one of the new releases. I just wanted to add what I experienced when they were still paraffin. I'm glad to hear that despite some hiccups, the wicks/flames in the new Country Candle soy formulation are performing well. For reasons I won't get into here, I have had to abstain from making purchases online, so I haven't tried Country Candle since the formulation change, but I pray my circumstances get better for me to be able to buy things online again (it is very convenient, isn't it?). And, yes, I agree that Sea Breeze needs to stay in the lineup! Looking forward to your Fall 2024 preview!! 😊
I got a couple candles at the last Kringle sale. Warm cotton, love! And herbal tea. The wicks on the herbal tea keep almost petering out when it gets a full wax pool. I am actually pouring off the wax and relighting. That seems to work for a short time, but the problem returns eventually. I’m not a candle expert enough to know what and why that is happening. Smells yummy though!
There were a few candles this last year from Kringle that seem to have melting wick issues. This is so out of the norm for them so I would love to know what happened. I had a Sicilian Orange do that to me this year! And one of my Country Candles from the spring did that as well. But luckily it's not the usual performance. Does suck tho!
cherry blossom soju went down to 6 bucks and some change, just a heads up if you didnt know. Not to tempt you lol. I passed on it because 1 was enough. I get a pretty shampoo from it, i wish i got bum bum from it 🤤 why havent they done an identical dupe in candle form?! That would be amazing. They did a whole body care dupe line for sdj but no candles :( boooo Raspberry rosé was a repackage of raspberry mimosa and that just got put out with the new 3 wicks this week btw. :B
Ugh, such an awesome price point. To me it smells so so similar but everyone is a bit different. I skipped the body care because I have plenty of Bum Bum products in the bathroom at any given time haha!
