    Ridley is a multipurpose service dog in training. She is task trained to mitigate my psychiatric and physical disabilities. She is granted public access rights to enter non-pet friendly places via The Americans With Disabilities Act and California Disabled Persons Act. Bringing non-service dogs into non pet friendly establishments is illegal. Faking a service dog is a federal crime, and a misdemeanor in many states punishable by $1k+ in fines and jail time. Please do your research before bringing your dog into public to find out if they are pet friendly. Target. Walmart, Disneyland, and any theme park or store/establishment that sells food is NOT pet friendly.

    Hello! So im currently consider taking my sdit to Disney. By then he'll have 7/8 months of PA training. Would you recommend I take him? Anything in particular I should really work on? From your videos thus far I definitely need to strengthen his leave it. Thank you!!

    • @theservicehyena3088
      @theservicehyena3088  3 роки тому +5

      hey! good to hear he’s got that much PA under his belt, that’ll certainly help! i’d say a leave it is SUPER important! there are distractions everywhere. people, food, music, animals, etc etc. a strong leave it is probably the most important thing in my experience and our most used command! a good settle is great too esp so they can get some rest throughout the day. definitely want them to be comfortable with a crate if you plan to go on bigger rides, and a good tuck/settle if you plan to have them go on any rides!

      my biggest advice is take it slow! all dogs react different to a place like disney. ridley has been going since she was 6mo, so she’s a pro but she didn’t start that way! it’s a big loud scary place so really listen to them and let them take their time. i started off by just going to downtown disney (CA) and making sure she was calm and doing ok before entering the park. if i didn’t feel she was ready, i was prepared to leave. don’t force yourself to stay if it’s not going well, you’ll regret it. listen to your pup and set them up for success! start small and work up to the bigger stuff

  • @siouxh.8541
    @siouxh.8541 3 роки тому +1

    I noticed in some of the shot that Ridley's tail looks purple. Is this because of the light and angle? It's not all the time but when they were playing in the field before you left I saw it and thought I'd ask what is causing this.

      charisma dyed it, idk why but it’s most likely as a noticeable feature. because service dogs are so well behaved and trained they’re sometimes targets to steal so having a distinguishing feature (like dyed fur) can make them less of a target and easier to find if they are stolen. charisma has said that it’s vegan, cruelty free and pet safe!!

    Also service dogs should not be allowed in Disney in my opinion unless you are blind or autistic or have ptsd, you people with service dogs without that disability get in the way and are nasty and rude to others who have disabilities who may not understand. You just want to cut lines and have your dog pick up for you.

    • @theservicehyena3088
      @theservicehyena3088  2 роки тому +5

      good thing you don’t make the laws then bc blindness, autism and PTSD aren’t the only disabilities. you also have no idea what conditions we have, bc shocker we both have some of the ones you listed 💀 also, you HAVE to be disabled to have a service dog dude… that’s the whole point. no disability? then it’s not a service dog.

    • @minniemouse3123
      @minniemouse3123 2 роки тому

      What ptsd learn to manage it unless you were at war you have no excuse to use a service animal I have ptsd and other disabilities to and I manage just fine go take your medication girl or get some therapy.

      A child who has autism you people have no right to tell that child or autistic adult not to pet the dog they could pet it if they want to there is no need to make them cry you people make them cry and unless the dog bites which your usless dog would never do just let people pet him a dog is a dog.

    • @theservicehyena3088
      @theservicehyena3088  2 роки тому +5

      @@minniemouse3123 people get PTSD from far more things than war. medication is not a cure all for all disabilities. chronic illnesses are chronic BECAUSE they have no cure. if you wanna spend your life trying to cure our disabilities, which im sure you couldn’t even spell let alone pronounce, go for it. lmk when u find a med that’ll fix me and i’ll gladly get rid of the highly trained dog that does it :)
