I don't know what it is about this video but I must've watched it 10 times already. Maybe just general curiosity or the fact that it so calming to me. But I love it
Im from Kuwait, I would eat daily scrambled eggs with salt , and feta cheese with olive oil, some tomatoes and olives and I’ll eat those with Arabic bread
In singapore a classic breakfast is two half boiled eggs eaten with pepper and dark soy sauce, along with kaya (coconut pandan jam) toast. You usually drink hot milk tea, coffee or milo (chocolate malt drink).
I'm Chinese and usually for breakfast we have porridge and some side dishes. Usually Eggs, (either boiled or scrambled with vegetables) and sometimes leftover dishes like soup, fish, or vegetables
Congee is DELICOUS! I've had it in Beijing, Singapore, and Vietnam for breakfast but I made them all at a hotel (at those little breakfast buffets) so I don't know how legit they were.
There's this thing called nasi lemak which literally translates to "fatty rice" (nasi - rice, lemak - fat) in Malaysia. So basically the rice is cooked in coconut milk - hence the fat, and is generally eaten with sambal (a chili paste), cucumber, eggs, peanuts and anchovies. It sounds like a lot but really a normal wrap is hardly any bigger than your hand. The fancy version can include any sort of meat like chicken or beef. It's the best thing ever. Ya'll really gotta try this.
Nur Farah Idayu Mohd Izhar Gotta comment on this as a Malaysian!!! Nasi lemak is the best!! (You just gotta burn a few more hundreds of calories later on....😅)
Haha, I can relate to the ramen. But I can't stomach more than a protein shake in the mornings. Because if I try to eat ANYTHING heavy.... my stomach gets angry at me. So high gram protein dark chocolate shakes are it :) Also, try maybe adding some veggies, curry powder, or even different types of meat if you can afford it to your ramen. It changes the flavor but it tastes so good!
dude porridge and pasta super cheap, more filling, and while it isn't as quick as instant Ramen, you just dump everything into a pot which should only take 10-15and like it could for 30-40 min while you do something else.
I'm from the no where land of Kansas in the USA and my luxury breakfast is buttermilk and sweet cream waffles with two strips of bacon blueberry syrup an over easy egg and cinnamon toast
sound sooooooo gooood! *droll... do you make the waffles by yourself? I have bread with chocolate spread or cream cheese with jam on it and a coffee on the side... always... and for upgrade I would have scrambled eggs, or something sweet from the bakery...
I'm Nigerian-irish so I have a mix of breakfasts for breakfast 😂😂 sometimes I'll have yam and egg with tomatoes, carrots, onion and other vegetables and a side of agege bread (sweet bread). And other days I'll have sausage, eggs, rashers (bacon), black and white pudding, baked beans, hashbrowns, mushrooms and toast. but most of the time I just have cereal 😂😊
Thank you to +Mel 131 for the French subtitles, +Krpop Music for the Taiwanese subtitles, and +Gfem for the Turkish subtitles! You're all awesome! Someone made Malay subtitles as well, but they didn't leave their name. Thank you if it was you!
+Masahiro Sasaoka really I do that all the time to since I've always like to mix my food since I was young but thanx for the tip now I know for when I go to Japan to visit :)
i think an everyday normal breakfast would be Nasi Lemak(coconut rice with spicy sambal) or Laksa(noodle with heavy spicy gravy). A luxury breakfast would deff be Dimsum in the morning, its quite expensive but yummy...
When I lived in Japan, my hostmom made what I called surprise-breakfast everyday. What that means is that you'd have literally no idea what breakfast would be. Some days, it'd be scrambled eggs and toast. Some days, it'd be onigiri. Some days, it'd be a cute breakfast bento box. But some days, she'd do something completely random, like leftover okonomiyaki or soba noodles. But I think the absolutely weirdest thing she ever made for breakfast was spaghetti with a tomato sauce. Like, I know that she'd eat whatever for breakfast, but spaghetti just seemed so weird to me. I mean, I ate it anyway, so who am I to judge.
"LEFT OVER" FRIED RICE. We use up the rice we didn't eat the night before - We check out what else we have left over and chuck it in with the rice + carrots/corn, etc. Paired with eggs and sausages/hot dogs. SUPER GOOD.
Honestly it's been so long since you guys uploaded this vid, and I still find myself watching this after a long night at work, while eating. You guy's vid are really my comfort youtubers 💕
I have a latte-bowl full of cacao with 5-6 pieces of Zwieback (german biscotti) dipped into it and some fruit. Fancy breakfast (= weekend breakfast) is coffee, fresh orange juice, 1-2 freshly baked Brötchen (bread buns?) with butter and jam, honey, cheese, graved salmon or deli meat, a medium boiled egg with herring roe, some fruit, fruit-yogurt or fruit-quark, maybe a cornichon. And enough time to enjoy it all.
Holy guacamole woman! Do you have a beggar inside of you?! How can you eat so much in the morning :o I always envy those that can eat like you coz then you'll get energized throughout the day ;_;
+Mihuhi 😆 You're cute. Actually, that is not that much and a very normal german breakfast (apart from the herring roe). Notice how i used a lot of OR? Food wise, think medium bento, thats about the amount of food i take in. And time is a big factor. I am also not a great eater in the morning, that's why my everyday breakfast is virtually liquid.
+Mihuhi - actually it is very tiring for the digestive system to eat so much in the morning because the body detoxifies until 12.00 so when is tries to detoxify you stop all that and you dump all that stuff on it and you begin your day quite heavy actually
In Israel we eat salad with olive oil and lemon juice, have eggs- either poached or fried or shashuka (scrambled eggs with tomato), pickled herring or whitefish, hummus with bread or veggies, and olives. Can also have some salty cheese with olive oil.
YESSSS I would LOVE to visit Israel one day!!! Syrian breakfast is also the best! I just hope Israel would let me visit without a problem. It is a shame the two beautiful nations are feuding. One day I shall visit that holy land.
I went to Japan in September and we had Japanese buffet breakfast every day, except for 4 of them where we had a very traditional one including raw or slightly cooked eel, salmon, prawn and other shellfish. It was delicious; I really want to go back to Japan-it's such an amazing and beautiful country.
i am southern part of india .we generally have a type of dosa(which is like a savory rice pancake) or idli(steamed rice cake of sort)with coconut chutney and/or sambar. in some parts of india we may have paratha or kulcha with a generous helping of butter and veggies it is not uncommon in india to have curry for breakfast
In Colombia is Arepa (a flat corn bread, similar to tortilla but thicker), you can smear butter, margarine, cream cheese or whatever you want and for drink, coffee, agua de panela (panela is a sugar cane product, jaggery is called in other countries) or cocoa (here is different, it's made with chocolate bars, similar to the candy one)
this video is probably my favorite video you guys have ever done. something about it is just so therapeutic to watch and i've watched it soooo many times, you guys are amazing and your videos have def gotten me through a lot! love you guys!!
This is going to sound a little odd but I think this may be my favorite video you've made since moving to Japan. Something about it is the perfect video to watch when getting ready in the morning or eating a meal. Fantastic work, guys. Keep it up!
in Puerto Rico it would be a little white rice ,sweet plantains,😋and fried eggs but just enough so there still running and then u can dip the sweet plantains into the eggs 😍😋 it's my hubby's and mines fav 4 morning's
+Simon and Martina in Ireland we have something called "the full Irish" which is basically a huge plate of food consisting of rashers, bangers, black pudding, white pudding, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, potatoes and Irish beans. a rasher is Ireland's way of saying a slice of bacon. Bangers are Irish sausages. We also have Boxty which is just a potato pancake which I personally love. Black pudding is well...blood pudding. White pudding is black pudding without the blood and It's usually served with Irish brown bread or soda bread.
This surely beats the crappy sandwitch I've got for breakfast today :( Hmm. The traditional breakfast in my country is banica and boza. Most of the time.
Hey! love what you do! i wanted to recommend the Japanology Plus series on youtube. they are usually half hour long, but each episode specifically focuses on a specific cultural part of Japan. hope you enjoy them as much as i have!
Luxury breakfast for me would be the breakfast my family makes for Christmas Day and Easter. On Christmas Day we have latkes (no we're not Jewish, but who doesn't like fried potatoes?), panetonne en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panettone which is a special Italian bread that you eat around Christmas (it's sweet and has almost a cakey density to it and it's usually filled with raisins and other candied fruits), creme fraiche, a fritatta, bacon, and a fruit salad. On Easter we have a lot of similar stuff, like the fritatta and bacon, but Easter is the special time of year where we get arancini, which are deep fried risotto rice balls and holy shit they're amazing. There are lots of different styles of arancini, but usually they're filled with some combination of mozzarella cheese, peas, and/or meat and tomato sauce. My family just puts cheese in ours, and I can honestly say I look forward to arancini every year.
Breakfast really motivates me to wake up early. My Mom would make amazing breakfasts. And on Sundays we'd stay on the dining table for hours after breakfast just enjoying our coffee and talking about life. Best childhood memory ever.
+Simon and Martina In the Philippines we usually have scrambled or sunny-side up eggs, longganisa (sausages), rice and coffee or dried fish, eggs and tomato with salted egg bits
+Suzu Hiroyama You're awesome, Thanks! For those interested, here's what I could find quickly. Looks nice, but perhaps EYS can find us something even more legit: Spicy Cucumber recipe - Japanese ピリ辛きゅうり Pirikarakyūri recipe Pirikara kyūri piri-kara-kyuri ( lit: 'Spicy Cucumber' ) Ingredients: 3 tbsp sriracha ( or possibly Sambal Oelek / Cherry Pepper Dressing ) 1 tbsp sesame oil 1 tbsp brown sugar 1 tbsp soy sauce 1 english cucumber 1 tbsp sesame seeds Makes 8 servings Directions: Mix sriracha, sesame oil, brown sugar, and soy sauce. Cut cucumber in half lengthwise, and then chop into 1/4-1/2 inch bite-sized half-circles. Toss with the sauce. Let sit for 1 hour. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve.
It depends on how much time we have for breakfast. On the weekends with more time usually an omelette with freshly made beans, maybe some potatoes with chorizo, salsa my mom made and eaten with tortillas.
Dear Simon & Martina, Good day! Appreciating other's culture( including food) is certainly a good virtue. You guys did exactly the same. Thanks for the upload. I personally enjoyed it. Love from India
middle eastern breakfast = dairy products and beans .. my fav is an iraqi dish called "kahi" which is a giant golden krispy kind of pastery topped with cream cheese we have it every friday
Except Iraqis never use cream cheese with Kahi. Only a spacial type of clotted cream, made of the milk of water buffalos, called Gaimar. Absolutely sensational
Southern people often have hash (diced fried potatoes with onions and seasonings [the most popular are garlic and/Or rosemary]) with ketchup or mustard. Then eggs however you want them (overeasy, sunny side up, scrambled). We also have grits. Its a corn meal similar to oatmeal, cream of wheat, or couscous. THIS is how you can tell if someone is Southern or Northern. Southern people do not regularly eat oatmeal or cream of wheat. Metro area eats oatmeal and some country/mountain people, but I have never eaten cream of wheat for breakfast. Ever. Sacralidge. You eat grits. If you're further inland you often eat it with butter, bacon bits, cream, sea salt-- smear it on your toast or stuff your biscuits with sausage and dip them in it. If you're at the coast you can afford to put seafood in it. Shrimp grits can be eaten all day. Then sausages (small bangers usually of the maple syrup variety or hickory) and/or bacon (American style strips cured in various seasonings like maple syrup, honey, or hickory). If you want the Canadian style bacon we either don't have it or it is sliced ham (honey ham is my favorite) cold cut or sauteed. Bacon is a big deal in Southern states, but sausage even more. Louisiana in particular with its unusal ethnic mishmash has, in my opinion, the best sausage I ever ate. If you don't have hash, you have hashbrowns which are shredded potato (usually of the day brown Idaho variety or ones local to your region) that can be pressed and fried into cakes. Skins or no skins by preference. Or left loose. Then they are smothered/covered/slathered. Meaning gravy (there are fights over white gravy versus brown), diced Spam, onions (green or sauteed), tomatoes, jalapeno peppers, garlic, mushrooms, ketchup (also called katsup), etc. It's the equivalent to the Japanese -don. It's preferential to region, clan, family, and state. Then you have biscuits for dipping or stuffing. Buttermilk are common in my family. Or cornbread (also a fight over savory or sweetened with honey or cinnamon). Traditionally breads are served with fruit preserves, jam, or jelly. I prefer jam myself. We also pair it with butters (dairy or fruit butters) or creams. Its also common to have French toast. Or cinnamon and sugar bread. Or a hearty baked bread like banana or zucchini or multigrain. Then milk, orange juice, coffee, hot tea, apple or grape juice. My grandfather drinks plum or (like my dad) grapefruit juice. Usually you pair a fruit drink with a hot drink. Sometimes people drink a glass of milk with their orange juice. The milk helps with the spicy or heavier things like the biscuits. The hot drinks warm you up in the colder months. The juices are refreshing and help wake you up and clear your tongue. We also eat more widespread and common things. Like that oatmeal. Or cereals. Some people also drink different kinds of milk. Goat, coconut, soy, pistachio, cashew, etc. However, this is specific to regions. Each state has its own ethnic makeup. The breakfast I just described is "Southern", meaning people have been eating it this way for over a hundred and fifty years. The melting pot brought a combination of German, Dutch, Irish/Scotts-Irish, Scottish, West African, English, Spanish, and French cousine to the southern states who were already populated by indigenous tribes (Choctaw, Creek, Cherokee, Seminole, Chicksaw, Chesapeake, Pensicola, Atsina, Powhatan, etc). Our ancestors didn't eat tomatoes, pumpkin, corn, or many of the beans and shoots native to the South until then. Many hadn't eaten the food ethnic to the their new neighbors. Then everybody shared their cooking style and now you get this. Metro people have access to more hard to find items like non dairy milks. But country people usually have access to fresher fruit and vegetables (grown from the farms or gardens of neighbors). There are also farmers markets and fairs. So, as you can see, food is a big deal in the South. Sunday morning breakfast was the big breakfast. Every other day was what was quick and easy (grits, toast, fruit, cereal). But at least one day out of the week families will have big breakfasts, inviting relative or practically relatives over to share and commune. All meals in the Southern diet can do this, but breakfast in particular is important. If anyone thinks this is a bit too much food, remember that until recently most Southern people were farmers, industrial workers, or ranchers. We needed the heavy carbs, protein, caffine, and fruit sugars to get through the day until lunch (or linner as my family joked-- it being too far passed lunch time but not time for dinner and/or supper). Think of us like hobbits and it'll make more sense. Not that we eat six or seven meals a day, but that we space our meals out into communal ones and personal pauses in work to get a bite to eat before going back to it.
I grew up in Florida. (Though, despite it being considered the south, Florida really doesn't have a strong "southern" culture, haha...) However, my family is all from the north! If I ate a hot cereal in the morning, it was always cream of wheat or something similar. I had never eaten grits in my life until last year. I still love cream of wheat, but I can't do sweets in the morning and making it savory was way too bizarre. So grits have been a huge answer to my savory breakfast prayers. I can't believe I'd never had it until recently. I still don't have the time to make a proper pot most mornings (and the instant stuff is AWFUL) but lordy. I'm the only one in my family who appreciates grits. Everyone else thinks I'm weird for embracing this southern staple. 8P
"sacralidge" ? HAHA how did you slip that one by the autocorrect? Also, your essay failed to mention country ham. And the fact that "country people," however you define that, will most likely shop at Walmart, which carries all kinds of non dairy milks.
You spoke to my southern heart! Deep South sugar! I tried cream of wheat in college-why did I do it? So disgusting...eew. Grits-salt/pepper, butter and cheese. Toast and side of hickory smoke thick cut bacon. Best breaky evah. Yum
In Indonesia, we're not afraid to chomp down on carbs for breakfast early in the morning :) Nasi Goreng (friend rice), Nasi Uduk (Coconut Milk with assorted side dishes), Gado-Gado (a sort of salad with peanut sauce), Ketoprak (almost similar to gado-gado but usually with an additional rice vermicelli + peanut sauce), Bubur Ayam (Chicken porridge with various toppings). * My parents usually buy those dishes from street vendors, we don't actually make them for breakfast because again, too much work. But we don't buy them that often haha. We usually eat bread + coffee / cereal for breakfast , lol.
haha! yes! I remember your Bali video :) It's really cool that you guys are up for anything when it comes to food, and super glad that you guys actually enjoyed them .
I'm from Belgium and usually I don't have much time in the morning so I either eat "pain au chocolat" (it's like croissant with chocolate) or bread with jam ! But when I do have time I like to eat eggs (in many different ways) or yogurt with apple and maple syrup :) BTW I love you so much but I always end up hungry watching your videos .... haaa the struggle
Cool! I love those croissants too c: here in HK we like to have "boluo bao" which is just a bun with thick crust on the top and milk tea (English breakfast tea with condensed milk) ^.^
+KpopTsuki Aww but here is quite rare to find good croissants and very hard to find chocolate ones n.n me too every time I go abroad what I miss the most is the food :3
Or just some bread with choco like nutella :p I'm also from Belgium! Where I'm from a more elaborate breakfast would be all kinds of bread with cheese and meat (salami, ham, prosciutto...) and of course croissants and pains du chocolat
Belgian here, too! I agree, a pain au chocolat, a croissant or bread with nutella is a staple! A more luxurious breakfast for me is chocolate-banana chia pudding or toast with avocado, tomato, olive oil, sea salt and pepper!
I eat sometimes a Bun with goatcheese(or hummus), salad and tomato. Or cereal with yoghurt. For luxury breakfast I like a great smoothie and Crêpes. Greetings from Germany. :3
Food looks great, and I would eat that for breakfast too, but I agree that it's too much time/work when you are trying to eat and get out the door. A western hot breakfast with a couple fried eggs, some previously-cooked/reheated bacon, and toast is much faster (5 min maybe). Throw in some "to-go" fruit like a banana, a cup of coffee as well, and that's a pretty balanced, equally as flavorful, faster meal. Making an breakfast strata for the week is probably the fastest/most complete breakfast meal. Pop in the microwave for a minute and you're good to go/travel with.
Haha, at 4:38! I laughed so hard when Martina said, "Now I don't have to worry about food falling all over my body," right as Simon drops rice on himself :D I cracked up when you both were talking about Tim Hortons :D I didn't know it was a Canadian brand, so I learned something new, that although not important is likely something I won't ever forget. Now if only you guys could read my Chemistry textbook to me, then I'd definitely get an A on my exam.
" looks down at 2 sunny side up eggs on toast and ham" ,,,,,,,well, if i ever get one of those mini mini ovens, i´ll start grilling fish in the morning.
Arroz caldo in the Philippines is very similar to a Chinese congee if you're familiar with that. Lots of other Asian cultures do something similar. Filipinos just call it by the Spanish name but it's also known as 'lugaw'.
This looks SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!! This is part of the reason I want to live in Korea or Japan, to learn how to cook the food, have more structure in my meal times and wake up excited to cook.
I usually just eat a bagel or chia seed pudding I made the night before. A luxury breakfast would just be skipping straight to a lunch out tbh. I hate most western breakfast foods (sausage, eggs, pancakes, biscuits, etc.) so I think I might actually try this sans egg. I'm just not a breakfast foods kind of person so this looks great!
Yeah, I get why because of the quick energy from carbs, but I really dislike how ALL breakfast food is bread and grain everything. Bagels, muffins, cereal, oatmeal, toast, french toast. Eghhh... I can't stand the bland, empty bready breakfast foods. Am I the only one who just wants a porkchop or something for breakfast?
I also really dislike the bready breakfast food. I'll sometimes make myself chicken fried steak and hash browns for a fancy breakfast. You should try it!
Same in a way. I hate cereal or super sugary foods. Unless it's a healthy fruit smoothie. But I always crave rice and potatoes in the morning lol. The only thing is that then I'm still too full for lunch
My every day breakfast is a piece of whole grain toast with seasoned mashed avocado spread on it and topped with egg. The perfect balance mmmmm. Sometimes we eat natto and egg. But holy moly i wanna eat Japanese breakfast so bad!!!!
I think typical German breakfast would be boiled egg, coffee and the most important thing: bread rolls with some sort of mostly sweet things. Could be Nutella or honey or jam. I think most people prefer to eat a rather sweet breakfast here
My breakfasts are a mixed bag.I mostly eat plain oatmeal with raisins, or berry and banana smoothie with peanut butter and yogurt. Lately, I've had white rice with a little soy sauce, and a protein. Well on my way to a Japanese breakfast. ; ]
In Panama Salchichas Guisadas con Hojaldre! Basically stewed hot dogs in tomato sauce with something similar to Indian fried bread! I am an American living in Panama with my hubby, which is why I love watching your videos and how you both have adapted to life in both Korea and Japan!
I'm Irish. I have cereal or toast. on an occasion we will have a fry up, so sausages, bacon/rashers,eggs, hash browns, grilled tomato, beans and sauteed potatoes and mushrooms. Delicious.
My usual breakfast is milk tea and maybe a piece of fruit, but if I have a lot of time I like to have milk tea and(you might think less of me for this) a piece of toast with with a special sauce and kimchi on top 💝
+Simon and Martina steamed savoury crepes with spicy potatoe filling with side of raw coconut chutney or tomato chutney or steamed rice cakes witg spicy vegetable stew .. lot of rice based dishes really all that couples with filter coffee .. cause coffee grows in parts of southern india .. expect some really strong aromatic delisiousness that fills your soul !
I prefer Simon's old breakfast. Peanut butter jam toast is supreme. Or just jam. Or butter. I love toast. My dream breakfast would be mcgriddles everyday with hashbrowns...but that's not really feasible health-wise. OTL
oh it hurts my heart to see Spudgy again.
Why? he lives on for ever in the videos 😁
I feel the same when I'm trying to re-watch all their videos 😢
It's been almost a year and I still miss em ;3;
I don't know what it is about this video but I must've watched it 10 times already. Maybe just general curiosity or the fact that it so calming to me. But I love it
This might be my favorite video they’ve ever made. I rewatch it from time to time.
Im from Kuwait, I would eat daily scrambled eggs with salt , and feta cheese with olive oil, some tomatoes and olives and I’ll eat those with Arabic bread
+Rey Joon that’s sounds absolutely delicious!
My breakfast is actually super foreign it’s something called “sleep” and “air” and the air is very spicy for me and I love it what’s your breakfast?
What a mood lol
I am pretty much the same but i need sone black coffee to function
i wake up way too late for breakfast lmao
same lol. i wake up at like 12-3pm. depends on the day loll.

Same lmao.
ha same
In singapore a classic breakfast is two half boiled eggs eaten with pepper and dark soy sauce, along with kaya (coconut pandan jam) toast. You usually drink hot milk tea, coffee or milo (chocolate malt drink).
the absolute best !
Hi fellow singaporean! Personally, I like having ban mian or mee pok for breakfast.
I am honored that you called me a fellow Singaporean, but alas no, I was just a visiting American who appreciated your culture and food :D.
The singapore breakfast is among the few things that makes singapore not excellent. That breakfast is vile
Wow, that sounds delicious!
Mushroom Congee don't you eat cats and dogs
Blue aadi nooo go aahhhhwaaay i no see cat or dog of yours..
Hahaha another ignorant stereotype. Please go to China and see yourself do they really eat cats and dogs. and fetus.
I agree.
My luxury breakfast is eating breakfast
A quick and healthy thing to eat for breakfast is rice and egg. It’s super fast.
Right my breakfast is usually earl grey or English breakfast tea. The adults in this house don’t usually eat until lunch time.

Gotta comment on this as a Malaysian!!! Nasi lemak is the best!! (You just gotta burn a few more hundreds of calories later on....😅)
Nur Farah Idayu Mohd Izhar u malaysian
Rendangg
i eat air for breakfast. a luxury breakfast for me is water + air.
Chihiro Miyazaki haha! I was just about to make the same comment
Air means water in bahasa Indonesia ...
Same
Air pudding!
Are you a plant?
Thank you +Yuuki Chi for the Bulgarian subtitles, and also for translating the title! That's awesome of you!
Simon and Martina I like having a nice slice of toast with thick butter and a few rashes of bacon and a very small portion of scrambled eggs 😺😀
Simon and Martina I have cearal
I watch this a lot, it's very comforting for some reason. My hubby and I have replicated this a bunch of times!
I'm a college student and instant ramen is the king of all breakfast!.....And lunch and dinner 😭
I am right there with you, man. The struggle is real
i feel i feel
I feel you on a spiritual level
Haha, I can relate to the ramen. But I can't stomach more than a protein shake in the mornings. Because if I try to eat ANYTHING heavy.... my stomach gets angry at me. So high gram protein dark chocolate shakes are it :)

sound sooooooo gooood! *droll... do you make the waffles by yourself? I have bread with chocolate spread or cream cheese with jam on it and a coffee on the side... always... and for upgrade I would have scrambled eggs, or something sweet from the bakery...
Normal breakfast: Coffee
Luxury breakfast: Coffee with a sandwich
Coffee is the key
I can ignore hunger, but I can't ignore sleepiness.
I'm Nigerian-irish so I have a mix of breakfasts for breakfast 😂😂
sometimes I'll have yam and egg with tomatoes, carrots, onion and other vegetables and a side of agege bread (sweet bread).
And other days I'll have sausage, eggs, rashers (bacon), black and white pudding, baked beans, hashbrowns, mushrooms and toast.
but most of the time I just have cereal 😂😊
Breakfast is our favourite meal of the day, and Japanese breakfasts are on another level. Here's what we eat for our breakfasts in Japan!
I'm sorry, but how you spelled "favorite" is driving me insane😂😅 I'm from the US so I don't spell it with a "u".
We also spell it with a "u" in England.
Tim Hortons is the good stuff
why did you strain the eggs for the omlete
Nathan Wood So you don't get the jelly bits from the white of the egg you know the bit that attaches the yoke to the white .
Thank you to +Mel 131 for the French subtitles, +Krpop Music for the Taiwanese subtitles, and +Gfem for the Turkish subtitles! You're all awesome! Someone made Malay subtitles as well, but they didn't leave their name. Thank you if it was you!
Lol it's funny how you guys say Tim Hortons idk if you guys are saying that on purpose but you just say it as TIM HORTENS...no accent what so ever :)
+Winnie THA POOH It was on purpose
In Japan , because the feeling bad , it does not or stir the bowl . Manners are said to be bad . The stir is the only person of Korea .
+Masahiro Sasaoka really I do that all the time to since I've always like to mix my food since I was young but thanx for the tip now I know for when I go to Japan to visit :)
Making me hungry now!!
this is literally one of my favorite videos. I cannot tell you how many times I've seen it.
4:36 Martina: now I don’t have to worry about food falling all over my body
Simon: *drops food all over his body*
I watch this video at least once a week
thezionzion it's almost addicting like the coco curry restaurants for Simons and Martina but their videos for us lol
Thank you so much to +Madalina Dragnet for the Romanian subtitles! Yesssss!
Simon and Martina thor....
I keep watching this video over and over again it makes me so hungry and makes me wanna try the food they make
Coffee is the root of all breakfasts. And lunches. And mid afternoons. And evenings. And randomly at 2 am.
i think an everyday normal breakfast would be Nasi Lemak(coconut rice with spicy sambal) or Laksa(noodle with heavy spicy gravy). A luxury breakfast would deff be Dimsum in the morning, its quite expensive but yummy...
Who else don't have breakfast cuz you wake up late?
it's all considered lunch.
Me
same I have brunch that is lunch
Lol
Im eating breakfast rn its 12:37 here
That Tim's shout out though LMAO don't lie you guys totally miss the breakfast muffins!!!

Best breakfast ever!!! Add a side of diced tomatoes with some salt and green onions and fam! That food is blessed!!

I have sleep for breakfast.
Haha, I have that sometimes too :D
Yeah I have that too that's why I'm so late to school
Keeps you filled till lunch, the real most important meal of the day.
Don't tell anyone :X
Wow
Holy guacamole woman! Do you have a beggar inside of you?! How can you eat so much in the morning :o I always envy those that can eat like you coz then you'll get energized throughout the day ;_;
+Mihuhi 😆 You're cute.
This was basically what I ate almost everyday when I was in Germany! I miss the bread so much!!!
Ahhh I love this everything looks amazing! Thanks for making such awesome videos c:
+Caroline Wang thank you for watching them!
Is the EYK Store still down
+Michele Liam they mentioned in their livestream over at DrinkyourPotions that they're trying to find someone local to make the shirts :)
In Israel we eat salad with olive oil and lemon juice, have eggs- either poached or fried or shashuka (scrambled eggs with tomato), pickled herring or whitefish, hummus with bread or veggies, and olives. Can also have some salty cheese with olive oil.
I love that. Arabic middle eastern breakfast is the best.
Panda Power That sounds delicious!
shashuka is seriously some of my favorite stuff
YESSSS I would LOVE to visit Israel one day!!! Syrian breakfast is also the best! I just hope Israel would let me visit without a problem. It is a shame the two beautiful nations are feuding. One day I shall visit that holy land.
I've only watched a few of your guys videos but I'm already in love because of the pure joy you guys radiate
+kenzie kuhn welcome to our videos! We only want to make videos about things that make us happy. I hope that shows :)
I went to Japan in September and we had Japanese buffet breakfast every day, except for 4 of them where we had a very traditional one including raw or slightly cooked eel, salmon, prawn and other shellfish. It was delicious; I really want to go back to Japan-it's such an amazing and beautiful country.
i am southern part of india .we generally have a type of dosa(which is like a savory rice pancake) or idli(steamed rice cake of sort)with coconut chutney and/or sambar.
in some parts of india we may have paratha or kulcha with a generous helping of butter and veggies
it is not uncommon in india to have curry for breakfast
Idli is probably the most satisfying breakfast for me :) Hot idli with coconut chutney or malgapodi! YUM!
+Aristurtle1311 yup 👍
I love Indian food! Sounds delicious!
+Aristurtle1311 woho but gujrati brekfast wakes me up the best

Polish Breakfast
Tracita Matteo oh hey tracey martel
only liking for you username and profile picture
Tracita Matteo thats my breakfast 😂
This is officially the god level of breakfast.
Hot cocoa from the bar is way better then the powdered stuff! Arepa is yummy :)
YESSSSS AREPAS SO GOOD my mom makes it every once and awhile and its always a nice treat -w-
Julián Andrés Marín Silva fucking love arepas
Daniela Navarro p

This is going to sound a little odd but I think this may be my favorite video you've made since moving to Japan. Something about it is the perfect video to watch when getting ready in the morning or eating a meal. Fantastic work, guys. Keep it up!
pickled things that's me describing stuff
the is...pickled...stuff...
isn't that what it means though? lol
My idea of luxury breakfast
Sunny side up eggs, toast, sliced variety of fruits on the side, bacon and a side of sweet potato fries
Id probably not even be able to eat half the dish tho...
I like the idea of adding the sweet potato fries. Those are so good..
in Puerto Rico it would be a little white rice ,sweet plantains,😋and fried eggs but just enough so there still running and then u can dip the sweet plantains into the eggs 😍😋 it's my hubby's and mines fav 4 morning's
oh and fried spam on the side or Ham almost forgot this a treat for us since we don't live in Puerto Rico anymore but we hope to see Japan soon😍
Love your Luna and Artemis coffee cups! So pretty!!
Every day: A bowl of air…
Luxury: Pancakes and eggs
Special thanks to +Charles Baluyot and +MissDichotomy for the English subtitles. You're awesome! Thank you for the help :D
Hello, how did u get a long term visa to live in Japan?...
Hey! love what you do! i wanted to recommend the Japanology Plus series on youtube. they are usually half hour long, but each episode specifically focuses on a specific cultural part of Japan. hope you enjoy them as much as i have!
why do you strain your eggs?
Bianca Anrei Tan Yessss, so good. I kinda have an addiction to longganisa.... for me I have that with some rice and the egg
Do you think you can make a video on how to make those spicy cucumber?
+ I'd love to know how to make the cucumber strips, and the spinach sides
I wanna learn how to make it too! I think they buy it though...
+ They can probably find out. But it would be great to get the proper name of the cucumbers, just so we could look them up. Does anyone know?
Yessss! I would love to learn how to make those too :D
+Suzu Hiroyama You're awesome, Thanks!
For those interested, here's what I could find quickly. Looks nice, but perhaps EYS can find us something even more legit:
Spicy Cucumber recipe - Japanese
ピリ辛きゅうり Pirikarakyūri recipe
Pirikara kyūri
piri-kara-kyuri ( lit: 'Spicy Cucumber' )
Ingredients:
3 tbsp sriracha ( or possibly Sambal Oelek / Cherry Pepper Dressing )
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 english cucumber
1 tbsp sesame seeds
Makes 8 servings
Directions:
Mix sriracha, sesame oil, brown sugar, and soy sauce.
Luxury breakfast for me would be going out to eat breakfast at a restaurant lol
this sounds so mexican it brings happiness to my heart.
+qaqawate omg YAS I was born Mexican and live for the food. YUM
Yasssss! This is my breakfast
And freshly made tortillas are the best! 😉
Dear Simon & Martina,
Good day! Appreciating other's culture( including food) is certainly a good virtue. You guys did exactly the same. Thanks for the upload. I personally enjoyed it.
Love from India
Simon and Martina should look into Bento Lunches!
middle eastern breakfast = dairy products and beans ..
my fav is an iraqi dish called "kahi" which is a giant golden krispy kind of pastery topped with cream cheese we have it every friday
Come to Korea and feed me!
that sounds really cool and delicious! thanks for sharing with us =D
That sounds SO good! Making my stomach growl. :D
Except Iraqis never use cream cheese with Kahi. Only a spacial type of clotted cream, made of the milk of water buffalos, called Gaimar. Absolutely sensational
Omnia Kadorah
Yum
+0t0ku Thank you very much for taking the time to describe southern american breakfasts!
+peachTplum How do you eat your grit?
I have watched this video over a hundred times not lying love you simon and martina
OMG that sound so yummy! We when were in Bali we had the most amazing breakfasts of our life.
haha! yes! I remember your Bali video :) It's really cool that you guys are up for anything when it comes to food, and super glad that you guys actually enjoyed them .
My breakfast is air. my luxury breakfast is instant noodles
it's not luxury but hot chocolate with Mexican sweet bread mmmmm so goood I rarely have it but MLK so good..especially during winter
Idk why it said MLK......Idk what that auto corrected from xP
I love hot chocolate with cemitas~! Is my fav bread, is not so sweet and fluffy~ C:
+Lily Kronwell I would love to have some right now..but it's waaaay to hot for hot chocolate right now xD
Never is too hot for hot chocolate~! I still have it, although is hella summer *lol*
Amanda Raymond Resendiz Well, you're right *sigh* but you can always make it yourself at home :)
This video makes me so happy. So wonderfully shot and edited, love your personality, delicious food. The whole package
That Tim hortons subtlety 😂
rebecca elizabeth 😂
Lol slide it right on there
I'm from Belgium and usually I don't have much time in the morning so I either eat "pain au chocolat" (it's like croissant with chocolate) or bread with jam !
Oh yes I love milk tea
While watching this video, my cat jumped up and full screened it. Apparently he likes you guys, too!
I like your cat :D
This might be my favorite video ya'll have made. I've watched it multiple times.
I cook my bacon every sunday, so I just have to nuke a few pieces in the microwave when i eat breakfast. Otherwise i am a smoothie person
how's it going, internet mom and internet dad??
Your name is amazing. 😂
lol agreed xD
ily guys thanks!! xD
Omg your name is what my life revolves around 😂😂👌🏼👌🏼
Haha, at 4:38! I laughed so hard when Martina said, "Now I don't have to worry about food falling all over my body," right as Simon drops rice on himself :D
I cracked up when you both were talking about Tim Hortons :D I didn't know it was a Canadian brand, so I learned something new, that although not important is likely something I won't ever forget.
Now if only you guys could read my Chemistry textbook to me, then I'd definitely get an A on my exam.
" looks down at 2 sunny side up eggs on toast and ham"
,,,,,,,well, if i ever get one of those mini mini ovens, i´ll start grilling fish in the morning.
arroz caldo with egg and chicken.... (poridge rice) Philippines
omar maligalig we also eat Arroz Caldo. Is that also a Filipino food? Cuz we Hispanics/Latinos also eat it, it's super good right 😊
Arroz caldo in the Philippines is very similar to a Chinese congee if you're familiar with that. Lots of other Asian cultures do something similar. Filipinos just call it by the Spanish name but it's also known as 'lugaw'.
Ggg
My go to breakfast: corned beef, eggs, dried fish, and white rice of course
Cucumber recipe video coming??
As soon as I figure it out, yes :D
+Simon and Martina pretty please
www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/488996181X/ref=nosim/wwwmakikoitoc-20
oh yes please
Gillian Gross Sounds sooo good! :'o~
Sassy Finger Snap It really is! It also doesn't take as long to cook because the steak is so thin😊
Same in a way. I hate cereal or super sugary foods. Unless it's a healthy fruit smoothie. But I always crave rice and potatoes in the morning lol. The only thing is that then I'm still too full for lunch
Aaaaaand now I'm hungry 😋 that looks delish!
My every day breakfast is a piece of whole grain toast with seasoned mashed avocado spread on it and topped with egg. The perfect balance mmmmm. Sometimes we eat natto and egg. But holy moly i wanna eat Japanese breakfast so bad!!!!
That sounds amazing! Avocado is one of our fav foods.
Simon and Martina mine too! Thanks for the reply! ❤️ keep on being awesome
me too.
CatswillRule add goat cheese and a little hot sauce yummmmm
Thats sounds really good! I might try it! and same!
Omg I just keep watching this video over and over again!! Love you guys!
I think typical German breakfast would be boiled egg, coffee and the most important thing: bread rolls with some sort of mostly sweet things. Could be Nutella or honey or jam. I think most people prefer to eat a rather sweet breakfast here
Agreed!
Don't forget the Müsli! :D
Also, NOTIFICATION SQUAD! What do you have for breakfast?
I just had coffee and some chocolate chip pancakes ^^
Literally anything that's available
On a normal day, tea and toast. On a special day eggs Benedict
coffee.
nothing because I get out of bed literally ten minutes before I leave for work >_
My breakfasts are a mixed bag.I mostly eat plain oatmeal with raisins, or berry and banana smoothie with peanut butter and yogurt.
Delicious.
I FORGO BLACK AND WHITE PUDDING. IRRESISTIBLE.
+Chrissy Mitchell It is! But it's suuuuuper filling.
HOW COULD YOU FORGET THE WHITE PUDDING!?
ShonaSaurus I DONT KNOW, IM SO ASHAMED OF MYSELF
That sounds amazing. Close to a western brealfast
I love you simon&martina 🤗
I'm in 8th grade so actually I have nothing for breakfast
Not even cereal or some toast? :0 How do you get through the day without sleeping through class...or maybe you sleep through class ;)
same
a lot of teens mostly do not have the time to eat breakfast unless they get up at 5 am.
Just wait till you get to high school😬
E Elise In some countries, Yr 7-12 is high school
I’ve watched this so many times because it relaxes me
Martina can you make videos on how you do your hair?
She did one several years back on it during their Eat Your Kimchi days. If you follow them on Twitter she posted the link there for it :)
+Alison Jordan i saw that one but i need more more .Her hairstyles are soo pretty
She has plenty on open the happy :)
+EXO and BTS is bae Ikr?! I would love that too
My usual breakfast is milk tea and maybe a piece of fruit, but if I have a lot of time I like to have milk tea and(you might think less of me for this) a piece of toast with with a special sauce and kimchi on top 💝
Russia: Sweet or salty pancakes and milkshake or tea!
That sounds amazing!
This is the very first video of yours that I watched and I keep coming back to watch it because I really love it!
South indian breakfast all the way .. 😊
Oooh! What's in that?!
+Simon and Martina but because I'm from mangalore .. We also have things like chicken or.mutton stew with again rice crepes called dosa .. 😊
+anisha raghuchandra excuse me while I drool.
Yeah that sounds really, really great! Whoa!
I prefer Simon's old breakfast. Peanut butter jam toast is supreme. Or just jam. Or butter. I love toast.
My dream breakfast would be mcgriddles everyday with hashbrowns...but that's not really feasible health-wise. OTL
Also my dream breakfast lol >~
where did get that hot water boiler? love!!
We got it on Amazon, I think :D
+Simon and Martina do you still have the link? did it come with the designs on it or did you add those?
+Grace Cheng those are stickers they added
+OneLove Phia I finally realized that. they made it 10x cuter!
Grace Cheng IKR!?
Sometimes I’m about to click skip ad, but then I stop myself and let it play bc I know it helps you guys
