The term “Hot Pot” actually refers to a traditional Asian cousin where fresh veggies n sliced meats are added into a boiling soup base. Therefore this equipment is designed to have some sort of water/soup base/liquid in the pot to start with. You can stir-fry if enough oil and ingredients are used to prevent over-heating. I have several of this type of cookware for roadtrips and camping and love their lightweight, compact sizes and ease of cleaning. They are also safer to use inside of the vehicle. I’ve used mine with the same Delta battery you used in the video.
Hi, I liked your vlog , and just to say that I have exactly the same pot, which I also agree is fantastic for camp cooking, but I run it from my BLUETTI 200 Max , with no problems at all from the 240v outlet,( England ), keep up the great shows, happy 2025.
😂that hot pot is supposed to be used for liquids only I believe. It’s great for quick cooking soups, boiling water for coffee, etc. I have one and love it.
Hi Troy, I was testing the EcoRiver 3 Plus, It also failed to run a 300 / 600 watt heater plate on low with water in it. If you use your EF app, you can check the error logs (|more settings | Fault History | and I bet you see the error). My old Jackery 500 ran it just fine. The Eco River 3 Plus also had a strong plastic smell. It got replaced, and the new unit won't run it either.
@BillPummell I'll be making another video soon to correct my mistake. This pot has a boil dry protection. It shuts down, so it doesn't damage the pot. Next time, I'll add the food first, then turn on high.
@johnbante5594 Thanks for the comment. I believe it was my error. Another commenter stated that his hot pot had a safety, boil dry feature. I double checked the box, and mine also has that feature. I'll be making another video to correct the mistake I made in this video.
@nichethought6106 you were correct. I double checked the box and it states that the pot has a dry boil safety shut off. I'll be making another video to correct the mistake I made in this video.
Thx for working out the kinks for us. I have a Bluetti 300 and am looking for electric appliances I can use camping. I don’t need any more appliances for home..and I don’t really do much cooking when camping. Basically I need something to boil water & heat up soup.
I have the Denzin hot pot (250w/600w) which is similar and fry in it all the time. I thought they were made for frying and it was the rice cookers with the boil dry shut off?
I think those quotes for an AC install are _OUTRAGEOUS_ !! For $814, you could install a MRCOOL Advantage 4G 9,000 BTU 21.5 SEER Ductless Mini Split Air Conditioner and Heat Pump - 115V! It would be more than an Ecoflow could power, but if you have access to house or shore power . . . You’d be sleeping in a walk-in refrigerator 😆
@jeanneprice6736 It didn't come with any instructions. I have older hot pots, and they will continue to heat and discolor. After another viewer state that it might have a boil dry safety, I checked the order description. It has a boil dry protection. Sorry about making the video too long. Ill be making another video to correct MY mistake shortly, and it will be straight to the point.
I made an error in this video. This hot pot has a boil dry safety feature. I will be making another video soon to correct my mistake.

@@rogerlikes Thanks for the info. I'm gonna do another test with food in it when I start it. I was treating it like a hot plate and not a hot pot.
You could try starting on low until it's warm and then kick it up to high. It may not surge then.

Thanks for sharing! I wish low wattage appliances came with a non-stick coating 😟
On my bluetti I have to change to power lift mode to use a pure resistive appliances

Might have been a pot therma, swtich for the high. If not loaded i have had the similar thing in my crotch pot. It forces the power off
@nichethought6106 ok, thanks for the info. I.might have to buy a DC plug style hot pot
@TroysHobbies just put some water in the bottom and try to use again on high if it works them it has an overload to stop burning your pot
@nichethought6106 ill give it a try
@nichethought6106 you were correct. I double checked the box and it states that the pot has a dry boil safety shut off. I'll be making another video to correct the mistake I made in this video.

4.5 min. Before we got to see anything in the pot. Did you read the directions for the pot?
