19:20 So what happens if you play "Beneath the Grounds" in this format? Will the opponent get a spell card that summons a minion for you? I'm just curious if it would be a way to fill your opponent's hand with junk.
My first TB was hell. We both drew an annoy-o-tron early on, and after 20 turns we were both basically still at full health but neither wanted to concede since we had already invested so much time in it. When he finally drew into a fireball and won, I sincerely thanked him.
what i experienced this tavern brawl is that "discard" is actually pretty damn strong here. you can actively thin out your deck by discarding cards you do not want to draw. for example: astral communion gives you 10 mana instantly, but if you play it again you can actively choose to discard a bad hand, you do not want to draw, increasing your card quality for the next turns. deathlord can be quite powerful, if you get for example a doctor boom out of his deck. you need to kill it once but then that card wont bother you anymore. discover mechanics are inflating your deck, so if you have drafted bad cards, you should value discover cards higher to get more chances at better cards. i had so much fun this week, since this tavern brawl needs luck of course, but you can actively influence your odds to get better cards through unusual methods :D
+Thyrell I know right!! on ladder it's like you expect what is going to happen. but in tavern brawl and arena it's like okay the only thing that can save him right now is some shitty card from the depths of hearthstone and bam what do ya know he has that shitty card. The ridiculous statisitics that he would have had that at that one second
***** at least plebs like me have a chance to play a sylvannas. or any legendary out there. otherwise, if it's a construct your own deck, more often than not, it's the p2w folks who have a higher chance of winning because they have everything. now which is more fair?
***** i only started playing around october and hence i use most of the dust i've accumulated to get cheap meta decks to rank up to at least rank 15, and to complete those 50/60 gold quests that pop-up every now and then. so far, i only have 2 wings of naxx and brm, and one wing of loe (3500 gold), which i could have spent in card packs, yes. but it's so hard to rank up without assistance from cards featured in those adventure wings, what with all the bully decks with legendaries even at rank 19 and 18. i eventually got to my goal of rank 15 (surpassed it even, to rank 8) with a cheap zoo deck. but what am i going to do with the 50/60 gold quests if i don't get a warlock specific task? so yeah i also crafted a cheap aggro paladin and hunter, and a cheap mech mage. and thus currently i have 0 dust in my pocket. it's not as simple for newer players to craft legendaries.
25:14 I feel the need to point out that cheating out chickens (via Deathlord summon) removes them from your deck permanently. Your opponent was winning on tempo by summoning good minions, but they never return, meanwhile the chickens you cheat out don't net you much tempo, but as long as you don't win its a permanent increase to hand quality.
My best moment so far has to be when I was playing hunter, discovered a kings elek, played it, it jousted itself that had just been shuffled into the deck, drew me it, I coined it out, and it jousts itself again and draws itself again. It gives a little insigt into action orders, I suppose.
This tavern brawl reminds me of Ascension, deck building game I play with my friends. This type of game introduces flexibility and it really gets you thinking what you draft. Each game session is very intense and never the same:). I hope there will be more of these brawls
this tavern brawl was so much fun this time actually, i played 4 hours against a friend, some games were just so balanced that it didn't seem to end unless something really ridiciulious happened
"After the war between Iceragerino and MagmaRagerino, and Watcherrino's death the remaining Kripperinos decided to start again. I had 3 awesome games this TB: 1: Beneath the Grounds / Gang Up I basically spammed Beneath the Grounds and Gang ups so my opponent never had any card while i only had SI7's. was pretty fun :D 2: Deathwing/Iceblock 3 Deathwings, 2 Iceblocks. Need i say more? 3: Nozdormu Yup.
This is by far my favourite brawl. So much weird stuff going on With rogue, you can fill up your opponents deck with garbage with sap, vanish, kidnapper(yes) and, best of them all, beneath the grounds. With Warlock, you can remove all the crap from your deck with doomguard, succubus and soulfire (Curse of Rafam is also really cool for obvious reasons)., . And then there' are Fel Reavers and Deathwing.. Oooh boy..
There was this one game I had where we built up our hand, and my opponent got a Lorewalker Cho. So as the game went on he kept placing them on the battlefield until it turned into a fest where we milled each other every turn and couldn't retrieve a new creature (this happened for around 2 turns). And as my hand filled up with coins, little did he know I had a summoning stone! Unfortunately, I lost. Why? Because the summoning stone didn't spawn enough target dummies. Really fun brawl, I hope the tavern brawls only improve moving forward!
Managed to get three velens out during a double shadowform, in a slow game. Having a 24damage hero power was some of the most fun this has been in a while.
Dear Kripp, you can get the same card twice if you play it. When you play the card, it gets shuffled in the deck; at the end of you turn, all unused cards are added to the deck and 4 new* cards are added to your hand (*note: the new cards will not include unused cards from your hand that were shuffled in at the end of turn). This is extremely rare but I have seen it.
Really liked this brawl, I once got like 5 Finleys in my deck an a maiden of the lake, on another game I had Ysera, Nozdormu, Malygos and Nefarian, and in my last one today I got a 9/9 blood knight turn 2. (I did get wrecked sometimes as well, but it was all fun)
Oh, and a set is when you have two in hand that matches one on board... trips is when you have one in hand that matches the two on board... and if there are three on the board, it's BONZAI! (I may have made that last one up.)
I also used to collect car picture gum wrappers as a kid. The gum was really cheap so my friends usually bought like 5-10 gums and as the most valuable thing was the car picture the gum was secondary, you forced yourself to chew that gum and sometimes put like 2-4 stick in your mouth at once. Also those "chupa cap" things that you stack in towers and hit with a metal piece to see how much you flip over. Then football stickers and sometimes if the thing was good Mcdonald toys (still have a giant Mickey mouse glove somewhere) and Kinder surprise toys. : E Then the age of collection ended and I saved my money for random shit and events. Oh and also legos, that was a big thing to get. I was a real fan of the different people, so when I got a pack I usually wanted a lot of new cool looking lego people. Wait, I forgot gaming, I had like 70 NES cartridges, those I also collected. I was a hoarder as a kid. D: Then came PC's and Kazaa/Limewire....the rest is history, no need for earthly posessions. :=)
My favorite moment was the turn 1 Lorewalker Cho, which meant the rest of the game was a hand full of infinite coins and never getting to add a new card for the rest of the game since our hands were always maxed.
Had a game with pretty much every beast card in Druid (well not really, but every single one that had some synergy) and also that dragon that gets +1/+1 with every spare part. The synergy was so much fun o-o!
The first time this brawl came out I hated it for it's super sluggish turns and it's at first glance confusing mechanics. After understanding it more in depth, I actually really like this brawl and it's possibly one of my favorites. :)
Yeah, that's how it works in the regular game and in this brawl you are building a deck as you go. So, whatever gets taken out by a deathlord can't be drawn again unless you can return it to your hand or have another one. This brawl is hard to understand, Idk why they brought it back.
Trips is an informal way of saying a set. In professional poker it is always called a set regardless of the configuration of cards in hand or on the table.
Deathlord is good - particularly when you pull your opponent's big minions because that means they don't have those big minions in their deck anymore. Yeah - you need to be able to get board control and stabilize, which Kripp wasn't able to do (frown), but in general, I would much rather see a big minion I can deal with than a chicken....When Kripp's Deathlord pulled his opponent's Deathlord, that was actually a turning point. But in Kripp's case, his opponent continued to get too much stuff to deal with.
+Eric Bess BTW - the reason for this is because your cards only go back into your deck when you play them or when they are in your hand at the end of your turn. The Deathlord ability pulls the minion from the deck and puts it directly in play, meaning they no longer have access to that card in later turns.
Wait, shouldn't it have been a good thing for them to pull actual minions from killing your deathlords in this? Since if they do that, the card isn't replaced back into his deck when it enters the field, yeah?
+Balázs Kurucz Aww you forgot "QUEST ACCEPTED" turn 1 with 3 coins and a part -> Effect = Your opponent concedes Or the dragon , thing , that gets +1/+1 for any buff you give it . :))
I had a silly game where I used Astral Communion to remove all of the chickens from my deck. I ended up playing about 5 Ironbark Protectors that game because of how little garbage was in my deck. I also had a game where I got 5 Doctor Booms played against me, and I still won somehow.
Deathwing is broken in this brawl. Last time this brawl was up, I got 2 deathwings that just decimated my deck in a few turns. What was left was 1 deathwing and whatever I happened to draw. In other words it was boardwipe every turn, leaving a 12/12 body on my side and a sad paladin on the other side of the table
Do you think a new card that is similar to the brawl mechanic right now that places your hand back in your deck and lets you draw a new set of cards (replacing your hand when you have a shitty one). Would anyone use it do you think.
My first try at this weeks tavern brawl, I played against a paladin and in turn 3 he got a justicar, coined up and then just flooded his board with 1/1s the following turns and I couldn't keep up with the ridiculous rpg he was getting plus his hero power
this is the best tavern brawl ever... just managed to empten my deck with fell reaver and then deathwing my hand. You get 4 deathwings every turn after that :D
Deathlord is actually kind of overpowered here, as long as you don't rush. If you deathlord a particular card onto the field, that card will appear only once, and not be in your deck anymore.
Best match I got was a match where I got Lorewalker Cho first turn, so I used him to stop both of us from ramping and using spells. This lasted until endgame where I got Ragnaros and double Gangup, leading to me getting 3 Ragnaros on the board. All the rest where basically loses due to shitty rng.
Stiam ca e ceva deosebit la tine :)) esenta romaneasca se cunoaste in comparatie cu ceilalti. Ar trebui sa ii inveti si pe incultii astia cate ceva despre tara noastra :)). Like your vids.
Why didn't you use jeweled scarab at the end to maybe get an ice block/frost nova to stall one turn? Maybe then you would have gotten deathwing next turn.
It would be cool if they gave you some ways to remove cards from your deck(other than playing warlock and getting discard effects). I think the coin RNG can be pretty bad too.
Yesterday I was watching your stream when I saw you drinking orange juice from a glass. I was shocked. What happeded to the orange juice efficiency video? What happened to the "glasses are not efficient because then you waste water and soap cleaning them" thing? :(
Having Deathlords is the only way to remove good cards from your opponent's deck. If you had managed to stabilize that game he wouldn't have had his one Deathlord, boulderfist orge, or Feugen, and you would have been down a chicken which is a positive thing in the later game. But that interesting game of discarding your bad cards and sniping the good ones from your opponent seems impossible to pull off in this brawl which sucks because it's a fun aspect of deck building games.
The absolute most broken card for turn 1 is dragon egg. I had turn 5 lethal since I was building boards full of 1/1s and 2/1s, and one of the cards I got was sea giant.
This brawl is my favourite ! i have already 27 wins, I like it maybe cause of that I don't know how to build a deck, and in this brawl i have everything random :>
+Psych0 Santa My opponent conceded after I burned all the cards from his deck. They only realized how bad it was to pick Fel Reaver after they lost Dr Boom and Tirion. lol
+Nightmares Graphics Deathwing is much better. Burns your hand so your deck gets smaller and after a time Deathwing will be all you have left. But that's usually enough to win.
+Nightmares Graphics during one of the games, i drafted fel reaver and Dr.Boom, I did turn 5 fel reaver, drew dr.boom. My opponent discarded all of my chickens and spare parts, and then i did coin dr.boom turn 6. He conceded.
At 17:20 Kripp discovers Hungry Crab and plays it. Then ends turn and draws Hungry Crab and doesn't see that he's now drawn a card he just played and states later that it isn't possible...?
I got cho on turn 2, so neither of us could discover anything because our hands were full of coins and spare parts, I cast 30 spells for the 40 spell daily quest
30 minutes ago I was playing tavern brawl as a rouge I had three coins and one chicken and I got van cleev (or whatever his name is) I played him he had 10/10 it was glorious.
He said slide instead of swing. Nice to see somebody who is so amazing at casting mess up for once. Makes me feel better for how terrible I am at speaking in general. lol
0:00 No speeding today!
I like when fun Tavern Brawls like this are here. Less tension of the win and more RNG fun. It's a nice change of pace.

discover mechanics are inflating your deck, so if you have drafted bad cards, you should value discover cards higher to get more chances at better cards.
i had so much fun this week, since this tavern brawl needs luck of course, but you can actively influence your odds to get better cards through unusual methods :D
1- pick mage
2- discover flamewaker
3- beat the shit out of every class
I preffer to get rekt by rng rather than op combo decks that abuse brawl mechanics

Kripp, learning how Emperor interacts with the hand shuffling in this Tavern Brawl.
The first time this brawl came out I hated it for it's super sluggish turns and it's at first glance confusing mechanics. After understanding it more in depth, I actually really like this brawl and it's possibly one of my favorites. :)
the paper car wraper was the Turbo, bubble gum!, you can buy them again after many years .... :)) It's bad ass
Had some ridiculous (fun and interactive) games in this one myself.
Does Deathlord actually rip the card permanently out of the deck?
+Jeremy Leyland yes
Yeah, that's how it works in the regular game and in this brawl you are building a deck as you go. So, whatever gets taken out by a deathlord can't be drawn again unless you can return it to your hand or have another one. This brawl is hard to understand, Idk why they brought it back.

I am from Bulgaria Kripp so I can relate to the Romania metal swings xD
Wait, shouldn't it have been a good thing for them to pull actual minions from killing your deathlords in this? Since if they do that, the card isn't replaced back into his deck when it enters the field, yeah?
Elise super strong and the 3 anubaraks spell is nice:D you never summon Thema but the cards are in the deck... FOREVER
The hero of this tavern brawl is Fjola Lightbane. "Whenever your opponent see this card he/she automatically concede"
Darkbane is much better
+Nautilus theTitanoftheDepths I had an army of darkbanes once. More cancerous than flamewaker.
Nah, whenever people see hobgoblin in this brawl they insta-concede
Michael Farrar Even with sorcerers apprentice?
+Balázs Kurucz Aww you forgot "QUEST ACCEPTED" turn 1 with 3 coins and a part -> Effect = Your opponent concedes
Or the dragon , thing , that gets +1/+1 for any buff you give it . :))
what was that weird cut @ 4:45?
I love this brawl, especially with new cards like Elise or Finley. And LoE legendaries seem to appear more often than other legendaries.
I love Warlock in this tavern brawl, he is so much fun!
I had a silly game where I used Astral Communion to remove all of the chickens from my deck. I ended up playing about 5 Ironbark Protectors that game because of how little garbage was in my deck.
I also had a game where I got 5 Doctor Booms played against me, and I still won somehow.
I got turn 5 loatheb turn 6 sylvanas and turn 7 dr. boom my enemy insta conceded. This brawl seems prettyyy goooood
Deathwing is broken in this brawl. Last time this brawl was up, I got 2 deathwings that just decimated my deck in a few turns. What was left was 1 deathwing and whatever I happened to draw. Do you think a new card that is similar to the brawl mechanic right now that places your hand back in your deck and lets you draw a new set of cards (replacing your hand when you have a shitty one). Would anyone use it do you think.
elise starseer and her map to the golden monkey is insane in this mode, I had a game where I had 4 maps in my deck.
I suggest the board game dominion to anyone that enjoyed this tavern brawl a lot, same deck building as you go concept
If you get a chance at ancient shade during this weeks tavern brawl try it.
12:48 no coin into atk spare part?
Kripp you're from Romania?! Niiice! Vorbesti romaneste? Tell us more ;) nice vids
Stiam ca e ceva deosebit la tine :)) esenta romaneasca se cunoaste in comparatie cu ceilalti. Ar trebui sa ii inveti si pe incultii astia cate ceva despre tara noastra :)). Like your vids.
This is like the card game dominion, i loved it
9:00 I stop taping when he stop playing Dr.booms hahahahhaah
Do the Deathlord cards get removed permanently from the pool?
+Micah Rinzel yes
Why didn't you use jeweled scarab at the end to maybe get an ice block/frost nova to stall one turn? Maybe then you would have gotten deathwing next turn.
why is the angry chicken so angry?
because it had a BAWK time.
Decks assemble is a really fun brawl once you get the idea
on today's stream I asked kripp to say luigi and he did :D. so I subscribed.
It would be cool if they gave you some ways to remove cards from your deck(other than playing warlock and getting discard effects).
I think the coin RNG can be pretty bad too.
The ending was hilarious. Wants a deathwing and gets the shittiest offer he could possibly get.
the legend says that one day the recombobulator finally gave him a decent minion
Best druid start, turn 1 coin out astral communion! Hunter I was playing was not happy!
Yesterday I was watching your stream when I saw you drinking orange juice from a glass. I was shocked. What happeded to the orange juice efficiency video? What happened to the "glasses are not efficient because then you waste water and soap cleaning them" thing? :(
Glad to see Krip getting schooled on the difference between trips/set. People calling them incorrectly makes me rage.
7:14 is great :D
Having Deathlords is the only way to remove good cards from your opponent's deck. If you had managed to stabilize that game he wouldn't have had his one Deathlord, boulderfist orge, or Feugen, and you would have been down a chicken which is a positive thing in the later game. But that interesting game of discarding your bad cards and sniping the good ones from your opponent seems impossible to pull off in this brawl which sucks because it's a fun aspect of deck building games.
Deathlord can be awesome in this tavern brawl, because yours opponent won't use minion from deathrattle again. You need only some luck
Can you have more then 30 cards in this brawl, if you keep playing discover cards?
If you silence millhouse manastorm will his battlecry still have efect next turn?
it's so funny watching you talk about Romania, me being a romanian as well. I have a few questions: do you dislike romania? How often do you visit?
i got elise starseeker turn 3, crazy game after that!
I just realized Recombobulator looks exactly like Kripp!
The absolute most broken card for turn 1 is dragon egg. I had turn 5 lethal since I was building boards full of 1/1s and 2/1s, and one of the cards I got was sea giant.
I lost it at "fucking chicken warfare" lol
i just give this video a like because you mentioned romania :))) is kripp from romania ? :)))
27:22 How good is rage quit?
does anyone know that deck tracker app he uses?
This brawl is my favourite ! i have already 27 wins, I like it maybe cause of that I don't know how to build a deck, and in this brawl i have everything random :>
Fel reaver has interesting mechanics in this. It's really good cuz u can't be milled but bad at the same time because you lose cards you might want
And you'll probably lose that fel reaver from your deck pretty soon lol. But yeah that's cool I hadn't thought of that
+Psych0 Santa My opponent conceded after I burned all the cards from his deck. They only realized how bad it was to pick Fel Reaver after they lost Dr Boom and Tirion. lol
I found felreaver to be a good early "the cards I selected were garbage let me remake a deck" card.
Can you get more then 30 cards in your deck for this brawl?
Hey ! This is like Dominion actually !
4:10
7:40
15:51
27:01
When does aprox, kripp streams ? I never find him.
Quad goals.
Nozdormu was awesome in this brawl ^^
At 17:20 Kripp discovers Hungry Crab and plays it. Then ends turn and draws Hungry Crab and doesn't see that he's now drawn a card he just played and states later that it isn't possible...?
I got cho on turn 2, so neither of us could discover anything because our hands were full of coins and spare parts, I cast 30 spells for the 40 spell daily quest
how does that head fit through that shirt??
has anybody seen a hobgoblin in this brawl? last time round it was very OP, but i haven't seen it come up at all in the repeat..
30 minutes ago I was playing tavern brawl as a rouge I had three coins and one chicken and I got van cleev (or whatever his name is) I played him he had 10/10 it was glorious.
Best cards in this brawl: sea giant and questing adventurer
+David John and hob goblin
+David John And 2 Elise starseekers.
edwin
+David John got questing and comboed out a 6/6 turn 3
+David John Eydis Darkbane is also so overpowered in this brawl.
He said slide instead of swing. Nice to see somebody who is so amazing at casting mess up for once. Makes me feel better for how terrible I am at speaking in general. lol
