Why are we letting Realtors be the gate keepers of home pricing. This has to change. They are not unbiased experts, they make money from larger sales because it’s based on percentage points of the sale. We all know this correct? Sure there is a market value but I have seen a broker in action and they base new home sales always more expensive than previous sales.
Realtors are not the gate keepers of home pricing. Simple economics are the gate keepers of home pricing. Supply and demand.
Be like Australia- 93% of all residential homes sales are done by auction- no bidding-wars, deal is done in a matter of hours and the leeches ('real estate agents') are finally starved into extinction.

Much more expensive than such horrible materials should be. There are methods that use less toxic and more durable materials. But they're not in the Canadian market.

Well, she will never be on the edge of homelessness like so many low-income Ontarians are. She can afford to save up and wait until housing conditions are better. Shelter allowance for an individual on ODSP barely reaches a 1/3 of a 1 bedroom apartment at average market rent. It's an absolute crisis for those trying to survive on minimum wage or benefits.
WHY does she NEEED to buy a home ? WHY can't she rent ? Home ownership IS NOT A POLITICAL GUARANTEE!!!! Suck it up sunshine and deal with the same pain every other Young Canadian feels .

Landlords who already have property buy up the new houses. The law needs to change. Canadians should only own 2 houses at most.

That’s not the point she was trying to make that mayors should earn more. It’s more about the fact that even with a salary of 90k which presumably would be a great salary 10-15 years ago is no longer cutting it to be able to purchase a home.
