Wild strawberries are such a treat. I grew up in WA in the woods. During the summer we would go in the woods and get huge mugs full of berries nearly every day. We’d put them in hotcakes or muffins or as a berry compote to put on things for a simple treat. You may not have checked every item off your list but you got a lot done so good job. Thanks for posting

Love a tidy cabin and yard. If you get the opportunity you might pick up a half dozen domesticated Strawberry plants. They're perennials and will do well over the winter. I grew strawberries in northeren Minnesota. Best part is they are self proliferating. You can plant the runners each year and greatly increase the output.

Mick, since you love painting and people in the comments seem to love your art you should think about maybe offering some for sale. You could take requests or you could choose yourself and maybe auction some off. Just a thought to mix what you love with bringing in some money to help you out there.

Hi I'm lovin' the firepit. Cannot wait 'til it is done. Your art is impressive. You could give us tutorials as you paint and draw. Hopefully without making it just another job you 'have' to do. Not fun then. Picking strawberries in the ditch brought back a lot of memories from say 60 years ago. Tasty with fresh cream from the neighbours cows! Of course, the mosquitoes bring back the itchy memories, too. The hungry pests. Keep up the good work, Mick. We are rooting for you.

When at the gravel pit, fill your scooper before leaving. Thus a full big tote and scooper when you get home. It adds up over time. Do you have a dump that people discard unwanted items? With luck, maybe find an old red wagon or broke wheelbarrow or anything with wheels you could rehab. Wheelbarrow would be gold.

Sort of like a meeting with your self to point you in the right direction and if you don't finish today's list pick up where you left off tomorrow. Way to go my friend and if you don't do it, it will not get done: I am sure you understand this now. Good job and keep on trucking B>)

Those paintings are cool, you can sell them. Swing by the dump and see if you can round up some wagon wheels or a wheelbarrow to rehab. A yardcart will always be handy for moving things. Also start collecting lumber scraps, I'll explain later. Firewood should be a super-super high priority right now. Probably need 150 days + worth in AK. Are there any other berries you can collect and preserve?

Im not sure how to go about doing this, but you should really look into doing voice work, narrating videos etc. Your voice is very good. It would be a great source of income and im sure could be done remotely from your place. Also you might consider finding more small buckets for getting gravel. Buckets like you are using up to 5 gallon ones. This way you would speed up the process and have to handle the materials less. Enjoyed the video. Place is really looking good.

🎉Thank you for another great update!
We have found using bags from dog food and feed is a great way to haul woodchips, dirt, and gravel from the pit. Friends and family save them for us. We only fill each one to what we can carry up our steep hill. That way we only have to scoop it once. It also allows for us to put bags on the floor boards and distribute the weight more evenly. I busted a back spring by putting too much weight in the back behind the tires. In the late fall we fill the bags with kindling and bark for quick morning fires and firestarter. It cuts down on the mess. The bags also help keep the wood dry.
I am 56 and finally come to realize that there will always be a "to do" list. I am learning to schedule more enjoyable things to the list.

I’m impressed by what all you did in one day! For those who want to see more art,
Mick has a channel on UA-cam about the art called (Mick makes stuff) you will see him developing the art he was showing, it’s very cool.
He is a truly gifted artist because he thinks outside the box, makes his own characters and animals etc. and the way he paints seems different but it works amazingly well. I love everything he does.

Mick, my boy you are an amazing young man. What’s sophisticated music you were playing. And that voice of yours is smooth as silk. Much love? Texas Granny

Another great video! Perfect length, great editing, superb music! The gravel really makes a difference in the aesthetic. Slow progress is still progress and over a few years, huge progress! Keep up the good work!

My favorite BoA video yet! Everything is improving. I loved the music choices. Your shot composition has improved. And it's fun to see a lot of progress on the homestead. Nice work!

    Mick,
I think you should get yourself a wagon or something to help you transport your gravel and rocks when you bring them home. Take care.

Is there any way you could create a “wish list” on Amazon or some retailer like that? For tools, products and gear you want or need?

A great idea. He has a PayPal, but would be fun to send him gifts every so often to support the content we enjoy. 😊

So, do you just do work 1 day a week and when you need content? Im honestly curious. Id just assume that through an entire week, youd get more than a 10 minute video. Either way keep grinding along and living your dream kid!

Dude, for transporting the gravel bring nylon sacks and a shovel with you and buy you a wheelbarow for moving stuff around the cabin and a rake also👍

No issues w the way another man does his thing but curious why u don't just throw 2 totes in the back of your vehicle when doing a gravel run. Given you use alot and appreciate the material, just makes sense to maximize your load each trip.
