It's funny how many people think how so many situations can be solved by the A-10 warthog just because of the statistics of the plane itself and the sounds it makes.
You have to get in really close range for them to be effective and that puts the pilot at a massive risk and it doesn't really apply to modern day warfare against an opponent with ANY level of guided SAM systems.

@@specialopssoldier1 The A-10 is better than an old Vietnam war plane?....I'd hope so lol It's just not useful anymore when you see modern jets.
nah i was on the ground in afghanistan and never once did an a-10 run not come with great results. unless you were in the military and had to call it in, you have NO say. it performs amazingly.
@@chrisvibz4753 You mean fighting against 3rd world countries, funded and armed by....uhm...us? A few guided hand RPG's would take them out these days, they fly slow.
Not shitting on the platform, I love the a-10...just hate how it's considered better than it is.

Notes: Guys, howdy! 🤠 Hmm. "Leatherneck Magazine" was popular with the boys when I was in high school. My guess is the librarian, a woman, wasn't aware that each issue had a pin-up girl centerfold, albeit in black-and-white, and the girls wore swimsuits! The "USMC" dropped the sexy appeal factor once women began to join in huge enough numbers to cause such a change. 😮
Meanwhile, the "USAF" had a magazine too that I knew about first because, Dad, was in that military branch. I think it was called "Airman Magazine"? As far as I know, it never had pin-up girls in it. Probably because of the nose-art on airplanes? 🤔
What each issue did have was a poster on the back cover of different airplanes, not girls! Inside the magazine was a plea to share the issues so that they could be free! Also, one to keep them intact by not cutting off the airplanes!
Well, Dad was probably unaware of that, since he did cut off the airplanes and gave them to me and my brother. We decorated our bedroom walls with them. One of them was the "Cessna" trainer maybe, but definitely one of them was the "Dragonfly"! The BX at "Tinker AFB" had a section dedicated to ready-made model airplanes and it was my favorite part of the store. I know that I saw a model of the trainer there at least, if not on a poster too. 🤔
I never got one of those pre-assembled static display models, but they were popular products because of officers decorating their offices with them! 😊

Saw a lot of these while they were being phased out of service by the USAF in the 1980's. Cool little attack jets.
