That extended trailer sold me on the movie, that trailer was bad ass. Glad Aqua Man is doing well and going to pass a billion. I'm a comic fan first and foremost, thought myself to read at the age of five by reading comics. I love Marvel and DC so I need them both to succeed at the cinema so I can get to see the DC properties I need to see on the big screen. I need all the Fourth World New Gods stuff sooner than later.
100% agree with Rob. I want DC/WB to not be pigeon holed into making a continuous universe. I want to see one off movies which focus on story, plot, and characters.
If you guys got pasted on Extended Look video then the main reason is this - the majority of the people who saw the extended footage were focused on the cinematography. It showed how most action movies, having gone the 'short cuts edited together' crap method (Taken, Bourne etc etc), were actually hopeless compared to how James Wan cut the roof top chase. Also, before that scene, the background clip they showed gave audience an idea that this movie had a story and plot line etc. So when folks see you not getting impressed (to be frank there was a lot to get impressed in that extended footage and I am someone who loves the MCU), everyone is gonna assume that you are going the 'oooh Marvel is better' format. It also was a very different idea from James Wan to put out a footage to whet the appetite of folks out there. You guys might also want to check the below link to “Behind the scenes” and react to it. They have a little behind the scenes featurette and I was quite pleasantly surprised to find out that Black Manta's costume is practical. As much as James Wan deals in the fantastical, he also seems to want to bring a realness to his movies. Can't wait for this!

The title of the “trailer” is literally “Aquaman Extended Video”. They didn’t name it “Aquaman (2018) Trailer 2”. You guys basically just went in with the WRONG expectations. That’s your fault. This was a better reaction definitely. I just wish you didn’t make so many excuses about why your last Aquaman video did so bad in this reaction. Just own up to it at the beginning, and focus only on this trailer reaction. Also, the middle guy calling Jason Momoa, “Moma”, and you guys not knowing about the Green Lantern movie with Ryan Reynolds is funny. You guys say you’re don’t hate DC or anything, but at the very least it seems like you don’t pay much attention to it besides what the average movie goer knows.
I second that. Using words like contrived or shit show against a movie that uses practical style filmography, mixed with CGI, (in defense of an entire indigenous civilization underwater), that required perception and complexity to make it believable. In hindsight, this movie is and will be epic. Marvel has the perfect ingredients to make good movies, based on direct source material, but that source material doesn't hold enough to make them epic. In sense, look at the justice league. AQM,SM,WW,GL,BM and the FLASH, hold more stock, solo, than Captain America, Hulk, Iron man, Thor, and Black widow. The gaming and cartoon outlets are crushing right now. The proof is in the numbers. These characters are forgettable. They only became relevant because of iron man. Thor was mediocre and everyone knows the Captain America was saved by the first Avengers movie.
Miss seeing you guys. I feel like you're not around as often as you used to be. Hoping to see a Captain Marvel Trailer 2 Reaction and a reaction to the Avengers 4 trailer soon.
Like many, I always made fun of the idea of them putting Aquaman in the JL because my only experience of him is from the Superfriends cartoon, and that orange and green costume, and I couldn't really get past that image of him. I've enjoyed Momoa as Aquaman so far, but that shot in the gold and green costume made me go "OH!!! That's how you do it!" I agree with everything you guys are saying, and this trailer got me excited for it.
While I disagree with your views on the extended video (which was really a featurette), I totally agree with your statements about Marvel films vs DC films. Well said. Well thought out. Like the comics they should be their own distinct entities.
That extended footage that you say was a poorly edited together trailer ..wasn't a trailer at all..it was the comic con footage that got released ..maybe if you tempered you impulse for DCEU hate and bothered to be informed you wouldn't have judged it as a trailer ..but footage ..it would have changed your view.
