Serious question, you dont want spoilers but you're watching videos about all the new items and weapons? And then blame the content creator you're watching for being spoiled? What are okay spoilers for you and what aren't?
@Ludzig In my opinion, spoilers are narrative, environmental, and bosses. Basic weapons and ashes of war aren't really spoilers to me. And I think it's entirely reasonable to blame a creator for spoiling the DLC when the title of the video itself says "no spoilers."
I agree. I’ve seen some stuff while just scrolling on here (“some stuff” being the final boss) and it really makes me wonder why people can’t wait a month or so to upload their boss fight footage
So fun fact about Carian Sovereignty, if you use that with Greatblade Phalanx you dont even need the cracked tear, you will just poisebreak literally anything in front of you if you phalanx hits all 3 blades for an additional 30 stance dmg. These combined give you 121 stance dmg. If you add the cracked tear im pretty sure you could 1 combo stance break any single boss Base Game or DLC.

I've been using the backhanded blade as my main weapon for fighting through the DLC. Blindspot is just so powerful, It actually has more s than the normal dodge which is kind of crazy. I think in terms of practical usage for boss fights, Flame Skewer is probably going to be better than Flame Spear, just because there aren't going to be a lot of times where you can charge it at point blank range to get the full potential, whereas with Flame Skewer you can at least get the first part out, and then either roll away without the followup, or do the followup and just trade Also, maybe this is just a bug or a result of my specific weapon type (twinblades) but I found that sometimes at point blank range the attack will actually not work, and only the stab will hit but the projectile will just go past enemies, so it does like half damage, which feels REALLY bad after you've committed to a charge

flame spear has been on the one "shortsword" we get in the DLC since i got it. A quick and dirty fire sniping move that isn't madness based comes in handy for sure.
If we're talking mainly PVE, I think you're really missing out with Rolling Sparks. The trick is actually to not lock on, rather, aim for the enemy's feet with free-aim. This stacks up all the explosions in one area and can do absolutely bonkers damage to targets who stay in it, big or small alike. I've been using it with the Lightning Bottle and it's been absolutely hilarious to see boss healthbars be deleted in mere moments and doing enough damage and poise breaking that you can just straight stunlock things like Furnace Golems.
The poison flower blooms twice is a great AoW, but it doesn't add any damage whatsoever when you hit enemies affected by rot, poison, or deadly poison. It works exactly like poison moth flight (but interacts with rot as well) and deals the entire remaining rot/poison damage instantly while removing the status effect. So its more burst damage, but if you were to wait for the rot/poison to finish it would deal the exact same amount of damage just over time. The main advantage is just that it allows you to proc rot/poison again.
Blind spot is so good. Found that in that starting area and instantly made my main weapon. What’s crazy is that those backhand blades get decent intelligence and dex scaling at +24 at a B for both and cold infusion gives you 105 frost buildup which is actually nuts for such a fast attacking weapon. None of the katanas ever got frost buildup that high so I’ve been loving the weapon personally.
shriek of sorrow seems to buff AR, instead of physical damage, this could make it viable for any split damage infused weapon, like magical, sacred, fire, or flame art
A note for the throwing blades weapon in general: one hand it for straight damage, maybe two hand for status proc. Doing a playthrough with them and another weapon CE'd through vanilla and discovered that having it just one handed was *miles* better than two.
I'm sorry homie, but savage lions claw on the milady with blood affinity is goated, the 3 hits come out so ridiculously fast that I end up landing all 3 more often than not, and you can turn in mid attack, I killed 3 separate enemies from the same input, 1 kill per each attack, it's spamable and you can spam it quickly, triggering rotten sword and procing bleed, it's my most favorite weapon build in all of eldenring and I truly want to see it get some love.
From what I know about the Aspect of the Crucible: Wings Ash of War, you can change it from being Sacred to being like Keen or Heavy, so you can use greases on the weapon still and gain status effects that way.
11:00 If you free aim it you can get every single spark on one spot and all of them explode at once. This makes it so much more viable because you can put it directly in front of you.
Raging beast is amazing because it lets you avoid ground attacks you need to jump over(seems like a reoccurring theme in the DLC). Wind stance is good as well, especially for poise breaking but slightly clunky to execute fast
23:35 you can use grandeur on a greatsword to get hyper armor, so if anyone's looking for that I don't think that got changed in 1.12 I do think sovereignty is just better tho. More hyper armor regardless of what you put it on and the follow up covers the issue with large/spread out or fast groups of enemies
Palm Blast is so good it's actually insane, it completely trivializes areas with those fire knights who are super annoying to deal with. Just hit them with 2 or 3 fully charged slaps and they're done. Good method for farming their armor set too
100% agree on Savage Lion's Claw. I was following a build guide with great Katana that used it and while I do think it's helpful when you have swarms of enemies running towards you, in general it just doesn't work all that well against many of the bosses / mini bosses that move around a bunch
I've noticed everyone underestimating just how overwhelming the rolling sparts ash of war is. Go ahead and unlock, and throw it at your feet when point blank with someone, the damage is unreal. I cam across this when I noticed I did significantly more damage against people I ended up knocking onto the ground. Rolling sparks is easily top 3 ash of wars in the game.
Throwing knives might not be _good,_ but I find them tremendous fun. Once you internalize their range, you can role play as the most annoying person in the world by just constantly peppering enemies with them. The jump R2 has extra range and is actually pretty useful, in that a lot of enemies that otherwise have a lot of poise will get staggered by a headshot, and you can get those pretty reliably with practice by throwing at the peak of your jump. Plus you can use it while jumping backwards! Great for dogs. They also make it very easy to trigger and maintain Winged Sword and all of its variants, which definitely helps the low damage. Though maybe the best real use for them is to fire infuse them to create a very quick and reliable frostbite reset.
Ok im going to tell you before it gets fixed: Free Aiming the Rolling Sparks at the ground makes all the explosions trigger instantly at the same time in that spot, oneshotting pretty much everything that is not a boss :p
Use PFBT on a weapon with innate rot/poison (antspur rapier) and set it to blood affininity. Equip both exaltations and use the PFBT AoW to clear the rot/poison when poison exaltation expires so you can re-proc it Gravity thrust can also be set to blood affinity which is insane
I love carian grandeur, didnt expect its next lvl up Caruan Sovereign to be so busted. Thats insane... damage, hyperarmor, range, stance damage. Hopefully fromsoft wont nerf it too much
Tip for The Poison Flower Blooms Twice: It gets boosted by the Shattered Stone talisman, since its a kick. This includes the bonus damage on poisoned enemies.
palm blast is actually pretty good because 1 it gives you a decent amount of hyper armor, allowing you to trade easily ( ive been able to tank a jumping heavy from a great sword while light rolling ). 2 it does a decent amount of damage even when not charged and still comes pout really quickly. and it 3 it does a ridiculous amount of stagger/poise damage( idk which is which) to the point where if the enemy is a humanoid you can interrupt them by spamming the aow
I would like to add a little to the Wing Stance AoW; if you have your weapon set as bleed then then the R1 flurry will proc it extremely quickly. And it pairs well with a bunch of damage boosting talismans, like the Rotten Sword Insignia, Two Handed Sword Talisman, Lord of Blood's Exultation, Millicent's Prosthesis, etc. If you have a big enough opening you can just turn into a bleed blender.
You can free-aim rolling sparks at the ground directly in front of you to get all the explosions off in one little area and it’s crazy damage. In pvp, it one shots people with 60 vigor and a great rune on.
Spinning gravity thrust can be goated af. For example, Fully buffed, while on a watchdog greatsword, can one shot those annoying mesmer knights with SoA and multihit talismans. Not so great at pvp, but can catch people off guard in enclosed areas.
Hmmm, honestly it depends how you use the throwing blades. It can be amusing on a int build with cold as it's powerstanced jumping R2 can rack up damage quickly on headshots + frost. I've found it's useful on the offhand as a poke option if you don't want to invest into mind or want something to keep up status aliments if your out of position/not in melee range. It depends on the enemy your fighting, however some enemies have no answer to backpeddling + jumping R2 spam. One particularly annoying thing is input reading enemies, makes it very difficult to land attacks unless it's a whiff punish.
I've just gotta say, nobody talks about how the "Aspect of the crucible: Wings" ash is different on twin blades. As of this moment I haven't tested on pole arms yet
@@youwy I must have missed it, my bad, but i wasn't just referring to this video. Some others have done rankings or showcases and don't mention it. I think running it with non elemental scaling and buffing with spells or grease would be a good way to inflict status
I think you’re underrating the wings tbh. There was so many bosses I killed by not even moving, just spamming the wings & avoiding all attacks while piling up the damage
not surprised by carian sovereignty’s position whatsoever. put it on my great katana and now it has 125 frost/50 bleed buildup and insane stance break potential. if you pair it with the great blade plahlanx it’s flat out broken, stance breaks left and right even on major bosses and double procs 🤯
The aspect of the cruicible: wings ash of war hits like a frickin truck when you have shard of alexander and the cruicible knight armor. I infused the great katana with it making it sacred, and with 60 lvls in faith and dex (as well as 50 strength) this skill is a beast.
Did you try Ghostflame call on the Great Katana? With a Cold Infusion at +24 and only 24 Intelligence (and 50 Strength and 39 Dexterity mind you) I am getting something like 700 Attack Power between Physical and Magic. The skill itself does pretty solid damage and the Ghostflames on the ground from the light attack input will also add the Great Katana's bleed buildup with every hit, allowing it to build two statuses at once.
While trying to keep the comment as vague and spoiler free as possible, there's a Niche case for the new Lion's Claw to be a ton better. There's a Curved Greatsword you can get from the second to last boss. Pure Strength by default. It has a passive that buffs Redmane Ashes of War (Both Lion's Claws, Flame of the Redmanes, and Flame Strike). It makes the new Lion's Claw (and original too) hit ridiculously hard. Highly recommended weapon for Strength Users that like Curved Greatswords. EDIT: Some Sources say 10% increase to damage, but from a friend running it on an 80 strength build, he said the numbers looked like a lot more than 10%. Combining it with the new 2 Handed Talisman and Alexander's Shard helps crank the damage on the weapon art even further.
I did a full on int build through main game. Moonveil, Carian Grandeur, I even did the laser cheese for some bosses. As soon as I used Carian Sovereignty I said "Nah this is too much I need to change it up" That things just too strong to keep the game fun, but damn is it cool.
This is absolutely no diss on you at all your content is great, but the sound of your voice and your speech cadence reminds me of shrimp from smiling friends lol
Blink bolt also loses points because attacks are the only thing it can smoothly transition to; if you want to jump or dodge after performing BB, it locks you into the animation for longer.
You were mentioning how you can't apply status with crucible wings, but I *think* that if you apply the AOW as keen, heavy, or quality, then you can apply bloodflame blade or frozen armament. I haven't tested yet, but I think it should work.

I've been loving Wing Stance on M'Lady, it just feels right.
shriek of sorrow seems to buff AR, instead of physical damage, this could make it viable for any split damage infused weapon, like magical, sacred, fire, or flame art

If you free aim it you can get every single spark on one spot and all of them explode at once.
This makes it so much more viable because you can put it directly in front of you.
Raging beast is amazing because it lets you avoid ground attacks you need to jump over(seems like a reoccurring theme in the DLC). Wind stance is good as well, especially for poise breaking but slightly clunky to execute fast
23:35 you can use grandeur on a greatsword to get hyper armor, so if anyone's looking for that I don't think that got changed in 1.12
I do think sovereignty is just better tho.
Equip both exaltations and use the PFBT AoW to clear the rot/poison when poison exaltation expires so you can re-proc it
Gravity thrust can also be set to blood affinity which is insane
I love carian grandeur, didnt expect its next lvl up Caruan Sovereign to be so busted. Thats insane... damage, hyperarmor, range, stance damage. Hopefully fromsoft wont nerf it too much
What did u do to get that much damage may I ask? I have 80 int and dont have that much damage when I use it
@@mage1915Shard of Alexander, Magic Scorpion Charm, Godfrey Icon, probably also Golden Vow
Thanks for keeping it completely spoiler-free this time, even without map overlays. I'm looking forward to the weapons video.
Goated video. Goated streamer😊
Average youwy glazer
Great video! also to add you can follow up a wing stance R1 with a R2 lunge without preparation frames!
The crucible ash of war is boosted by the corresponding armor sets FYI.
“And everything’s just gonna die your welcome there you go” is now my favorite quote
I love the backhand blade so much
Finally beat the dlc blind and get to go through all your vids and see what I missed! Love the content youwy (-:
Hmmm, honestly it depends how you use the throwing blades. It can be amusing on a int build with cold as it's powerstanced jumping R2 can rack up damage quickly on headshots + frost. I've found it's useful on the offhand as a poke option if you don't want to invest into mind or want something to keep up status aliments if your out of position/not in melee range.
It depends on the enemy your fighting, however some enemies have no answer to backpeddling + jumping R2 spam. One particularly annoying thing is input reading enemies, makes it very difficult to land attacks unless it's a whiff punish.
Youwy has been so on the ball since SOTE dropped, and I just really appreciate that.
Blinkbolt on the Warhawk Talon or Beast Claws is REALLY GOOD since their heavy attacks give forward movement
When it comes to PvP, swift slash is undeniably #1. It literally is the most broken ash in the games history
I've just gotta say, nobody talks about how the "Aspect of the crucible: Wings" ash is different on twin blades. As of this moment I haven't tested on pole arms yet
I did talk about it? Also polearms just get the poking attack
Something not a lot of ppl know is with wing stance the light input can flow into the heavy input rly smoothly for a sick combo
Hey bro , i just wanna say thankyou and im proud of you .
not surprised by carian sovereignty’s position whatsoever. put it on my great katana and now it has 125 frost/50 bleed buildup and insane stance break potential. if you pair it with the great blade plahlanx it’s flat out broken, stance breaks left and right even on major bosses and double procs 🤯
noice video from hard working information man, very much appreciated sir
The aspect of the cruicible: wings ash of war hits like a frickin truck when you have shard of alexander and the cruicible knight armor.
I infused the great katana with it making it sacred, and with 60 lvls in faith and dex (as well as 50 strength) this skill is a beast.
Thanks for the tip on the big magic sword. I needed that.
Great content as always. ❤
Really appreciate the spoiler free vids. Great info, ty.
High quality video youwy, thanks :)
You were mentioning how you can't apply status with crucible wings, but I *think* that if you apply the AOW as keen, heavy, or quality, then you can apply bloodflame blade or frozen armament.
I haven't tested yet, but I think it should work.
