These types of sessions, combining Festool products with Shaper are the BEST for guys who have purchased both. I only use my Shaper products (have all of them) and my Festool products ( have all of them) in my shop. Keep going guys you're doing great! Sessions on Joinery are the best, Dovetails, Box Joints, and now Tenons (Dominos). They make my time in the shop so efficient!
Awesome, this was so useful. Any thought on the ability to have reference pins on the mortise adapter for the 70mm locations so they don't have to be eyeballed? Another great session Russ and Jake, keep up the great content!
I tried my hand at creating floating shelves today with my shaper plate and edge mortising attachment. When I got to trying out the edge mortising adapter, I found it easier to just clamp my work price to my table flush with the surface and use the shaper plate. The edge mortising adapter was just too cumbersome to lock in place and I had to re-clamp at every cut I liked the perfect fit but decided that in the future, I will choose all domino cutouts to be 6mm larger than the domino and just align my boards up when gluing during assembly. If you get a single tight-fit domino off by a tiny fraction, it is hard to disassemble and trim. I'm not sold yet as I could have assembled this peace in about 10 minutes with my finish nail gun and some wood putty. I was painting this project anyway and only used the dominos to try out my toys.
Loved the session. I recently bought a Domino 500 but this video might have me rethinking my purchase....NOT. They both have a place in my shop. On a trade-in program, I would like one available but not sure I would take advantage of one. Mine does everything the Gen2 does but with a little less resolution in the screen. Why don't you guys invest in a remote control overhead cam for Goose.
As a domino user, I have the origin as well, I've found you only have to put the loose slot into one side of the joint. It makes assembly easier if you first put the dominoes into all the tight slots.

Super helpful. I do own a domino(500) and a shaper but I can see this as useful to plunge df700 sized dominos so it’s like having both machines
Great idea
Yes to the trade up program please!

Thanks for the feedback! We'll pass it along to the team. Glad you enjoyed this week's Sessions!

This is super helpful even if you have both dominos

Yes, I would love to have a program to upgrade my gen 1.
I would like a gen 1 to gen 2 trade-in option
Origin upgrade to v2: YES!!!!
I would be interested in a trade-in option.
Interested in trade in
Yes
I disagree that original and plate is better that domino if you have a domino. However, if you don’t have a domino it would be great
