The fact that we paid money for him, and then followed it up with the longest contract in the squad is scandalous. Surely it’s rigged and various people have made money off this ‘deal’?!
Mr stag's retric is amusing, perhaps if he just admitted he is out of his depth , it would have been a more honest response , as most are aware his failings are the root cause of our current predicament.
They clearly think they've got enough quality in the squad to stay up IF everyone stays fit but thats a big IF with the injury record in recent seasons. They kind of want it both ways - its tough to compete financially and get deals done, but we think we've got enough IF everyone stays fit. Personally I think they've got a bit complacent about survival at this level and over confident with gambling on injury prone players. Im not surprised that they are not planning to do much business in the window, they clearly spent their budget in the summer and presumably cant afford to add to it now, but it does seem a bit ironic that they sit four points adrift of safety but seem to think they'll survive without any difficulty. Its a shame because they've got a decent fan base and and a fairly experienced squad by their standards but I don't detect much in the way of a coherent recruitment strategy and the performances and results are not consistent enough to survive. Maybe there's a quiet acceptance that this might be one season too many in L1.
Our transfer budget wouldnt keep us in this league 2... club has been getting away with it for past seasons. The fact they think the squad is good enough to compete in league one shows how out of our touch they are.. investment needed ASAP! If the owners can't they should step aside so we can get owners in who can... simple Oh and who ever gave Loft a permanent contract needs sacking, worst striker to play at the Abbey!
Spending the money where it's not needed is evident...... It's the team that does all the talking on the field, not the emblem we have on our shirt for example. Get a good team, get us higher up the table then look at spending some excess cash from gate receipts. NRE is still standing firm, only when we need to get in the prem should we update the home end.
The owners should step aside?! lol. These owners not only saved this club, but have been utterly amazing in their commitment to improving the club. Buying the abbey back, new training facilities, stadium redevelopment in the works. Owners should step aside… ffs
Shifting the philosophy! If you were recruiting to fit the philosophy and how Monk wanted to play then why have you gone after has-been injury prone or out of form/love championship & league one players who are on the way down or have piss poor scoring records for most of their careers. Didn’t want a high turnover of staff so you re-signed players not good enough at this level and ones that wouldn’t fit the philosophy you’re on about - makes no sense It’s not just this year. It’s been a mess since we came into the league. Blaming budget which isn’t a surprise. Why not go after some league 2 or national league players who are in form and would relish the opportunity to play for us. These players who’ve played higher go missing in games because they quite frankly don’t care about playing for us. No new, modern training facility will make them care. This guy needs to be gone in the summer. Infuriating.
Tbf second lowest budget in the league and we have picked out great loan players, Shayne Lavery, kell watts and multiple others in the years under this guy. Definitely over hated
Talks a lot without really saying anything of any real value. He’s a key reason we’re in the mess we are. He needs to go asap!
Let’s see what the man who gave Ryan Loft a 3 year deal has to say…
And bought him for an “undisclosed fee”
The fact that we paid money for him, and then followed it up with the longest contract in the squad is scandalous. Surely it’s rigged and various people have made money off this ‘deal’?!
@@mrb018538 it will be something to do with his agent or something because how he gets signed to nearly every club he has played for is crazy
41% increase in playing budget accross seasons in league one, yet our highest finish was in our first season.... Just saying

Football is a results business and results speak for themselves

If this is live, please can you ask him who Mark Boner is
Mark boner
Our players have shown a capability to play at this level? Would you be prepared to put your money where your mouth is?
Get out of our club

It’s less the budget and more who’s spending it
