I remember back in 2018 when they redesigned the Camry. I absolutely loved it and thought that it gave a Camry a sportier appearance. Prior to that I never really cared about Camrys. For 2025 model year I think they pulled it off again, raising the bar once again. I hope there's a 2025 Camry Nightshade edition or GR Camry 😊
@wesleymarcellus5042 Yeah, I think 2020 is also a good year for the redesign when they really gave it a more grown-up appearance, too. Hope the redesign is soon 🙏
I just got this exact car but with AWD. Absolutely love it so far. Everyone was giving us looks when we drove it up into the mountains after it snowed about 6 inches. Love the blue and matte bronze wheels!
Getting a water pump and thermostat gasket and four sensors replaced on my tires at the Toyota Dealership today. Have a 2023 Camry loaner for the weekend with Heads Up Display, navigation, and XM radio. It's a really nice car with very comfortable seats. Never driven a Camry like this before. I highly recommend this car. Looks great in silver with a black roof.
Love the Camry, plus I think this trim and gen just looks the best. The blue paint with the bronze wheels look great. If only dealerships weren't trying to rip off buyers.
Remember V6 301 HP naturally aspirated and traditional transmission version !! Best sedan on earth. Almost single handedly put all sedans out of business.
My 6 year old is convinced the Toyota Camry is the world's fastest car. Every race track we go to, the Camry is used as a pace car, last month we went to Sonoma Raceway for the Velocity Invitational, there was Lewis Hamilton's 2008 Championship McLaren being lead around Sonoma Raceway by a Toyota Camry before shattering the track record. Then there's Ford unveiling the Ford GT Mk IV, guess what car was leading the Mk IV onto the track? The Toyota Camry! Toyota does an excellent job of projecting an image for the Camry, by signing an agreement with many race tracks to used the Camry as either the pace car, leading car, safety car, etc...because it works on my 6 year old.
I absolutely love the fake vents I love how they look. Who wants to see a boring piece of blue metal? I love es the rear fake vents because they look great for esthetics as to a plain & boring blue bumper.
Still rocking my ‘07 Camry LE 171,000 miles later. It’s been, and still is, a great car. If and maybe when I have to trade it in, I’d get another Camry LE, possibly the ‘23 year. You just can’t go wrong with them. :)
I have one of these as a loaner right now, and it's got some power to it. Compared to my daily driver of 2015 Kia Optima Hybrid. I might buying this in the future!
I miss my 😢 2021 Camry SE Night Shade was totaled. Mine came with 18” black wheels. Nice to see them upgrading it to 19” wheels and removing the black colored door handles and color matching them.

That fake vent by the tail lights always looks so awkward. First time I saw it on a white one I thought it was tape holding up the rear bumper. Nice blue with bronze on that.
Always though the Camry was a great looking car, especially when optioned with the red leather. I think it’s really cool they went with the bronze wheels, different than the usually black most places always do
I’ll get my hands on this current generation since you can get a Camry with a V6 since the next generation will be hybrid only and only offered in one engine option only
Personally, I prefer the 2020/21 version right before the refresh because of how the infotainment was fully integrated in the dash. Not a fan of the tablet style attached to the dash. Get that 2020/21 XSE V6 and youve got a great vehicle.
Joe, didn’t you say this Camry has an 8 speed auto transmission when the hood was open? Then behind the wheel you said it has paddle shifters and a CVT. I am confused. Then on the drive you went back to saying it has an 8 speed auto transmission. No rear air vents is a big zonk. Old tech and small screen is another big zonk. The bronze wheels are slick
Hey Joe! I really enjoyed this review of the Nightshade Camry, as I enjoy all of your reviews!! I was wondering if you could do me a huge favor. they also put some type of trick in it if you’re lane switching without turning the blinker on it throws you a little if you’re not in the correct lane it’s weird and can actually cause an accident very harmful
I hate that they discontinued the Avalon. My Avalon lasted more than 20 years, never got any repair the whole time I owned it . The comfort it provided was equal to a Lexus on a half price I paid for. It died in a major accident car crash. So many good memories and happy moments having that car. And it saved my life. A neglected driver crossed the stop side and crashed into my car pushing it with me inside to a house. The car is all smoky and smashed, I passed out a few second but not injured. I replaced it with a new Camry 2019. It's a good car but not to compare with my Avalon. I feel like the Camry body is not strong enough to protect driver and passengers in a collision
Nice 👍🏼 no I wait for the 2025 one xse I agree with all your zonks Toyota now needs to listen to our complaints if they want us highly informed individuals if we’re getting a car loan or not.

A very decent car that's well built, well designed and does what you need. Not overdone and a decent car that will last. You don't buy a Camry for speed
This is going to be the last real Camry that was made with a Gasoline combustion engine and the last good looking Camry. My 2007 Camry has 281,000kms with a 5 Speed Manual Transmission, I do my oil changes every 3,000kms. I'm in the process of getting a tune up done replacing the Serpentine belt, Fuel filter, Spark plugs & coils. I need to buy a spare Alternator to keep in the trunk, that way if my Alternator ever dies on me I can replace it on the side of the road.
The BMW X3 weighs 1000 lbs more, has 2 more cylinders, but same 200 HP. So interesting how Japan offers more car for less money and better MPG than the Germans. I would wait for 2024 model which is hybrid. Camry has been clobbering the Accord in sales for the last years. Not sure why, maybe because the Accord and Civic platforms were combined a while back.
