I was rooting for Staley and SC from Day 1 but my goodness I'm so proud of Iowa/Caitlin and what they've done for the game including shedding light on women's basketball in the Midwest. I come from a basketball family - generations of players - and this is so exciting for us all. Pat Summit would be so proud! Kudos Caitlin!

Almost all Iowa starters played the entire game with no rest, and Caitlin always play the entire game. SC rotated their starters, was at a height and size advantage, and Iowa still gave them the best fight yet! I have nothing but respect for the Iowa team. From the coach, to the team, and even the fans, nothing but class! 18.7 million viewers, you can't argue against that. Thank you Iowa!

I always say you're only as strong as your bench is. CC is a great player but she can't do it alone. You can't have 5 girls that can't be rotated. You can't have a bench that you're afraid to let touch the floor. The team with the developed bench will always be stronger.

Clark and her team have absolutely no reason to be ashamed. South Carolina was continually getting 2nd, 3rd, and even 4th chances to score due to their height advantage. They owned the boards from the beginning. Both teams played amazing, awesome basketball, but there can be only 1 winner. So proud of them all!!! ❤❤❤❤❤

Not much of a baseball fan but hearing about what Caitlin was doing this year got me interested and thanks to her I’m now a fan of women’s basketball. The ability these women show is incredible, can’t wait to see more . I would also like to wish her a great future at whatever she does . Thanks for sharing.

They lost, but they were winners either way. Small-"town"-of a state, almost like Maine or Montana-for-a-team making the finals, TWICE. Sure, a win would have been sweet, but Iowa and Caitlin, as I explained above, making the final is a win. They should be happy and proud.

All these teams that played Iowa should be grateful, even South Carolina, they played against Clark. It would have been just another low viewership tournament. As it turned out, some of the last games that Iowa played had the highest viewers ever.

Kaitin is a great player. No doubt. Kaitlin could only pull her team so far. Clarke has proven two years back to back, that merely having the best scorer in any game doesn't mean you will win the championship game. In basketball or football, defense wins championships.
@user-hb6ot5vf1i I've only watched her in one entire game and that was losing to LSU last year in Championship game, so I don't even know if Clarke can play defense, or rebound. I wasn't any good at basketball but my highschool basketball coach produced a daughter my classmate that is in her college hall of fame, and his granddaughter is now our highschool's winningest coach. He told us, shooters are born but anyone can play defense and rebound through practice and hustle. I was fast but only 5'-4" so the fast break was my forte.. I'm still only 5'-4"
