I have a money tree that started having brown tips. i started reverse watering with distilled water and my plant is so freaking big, happy, with no brown tips. I live in the desert so the water here is horrible, most houses have water softeners. My mom has over 70plants that do good with tap water, but then she has some plants that she tries to grow hydroponically and the tap water has killed them each time. So now we are going to experiment with distilled water for those. ❤ ty for sharing!
With well water you have minerals over which you have no control, minerals that will cause a salt build-up over time, which is bad for your plants. Distilled water gives the end user however full control over the minerals, and as a result the plants have a much higher potential to thrive, and studies have confirmed this.
Hi. I just want to share my opinion after my experiment with distilled water. I live in the high desert and tap water damaged or killed my sensitive houseplants many times. It contains high amounts of minerals. After hearing about using distilled water, I did some research and experimented with it. I infused fresh air into distilled water with an aquarium air pump and mixed it with a plant vitalizer. I used the water for my sensitive plants for over 6 months. Now they're thriving with no browning leaves. I would recommend it to anyone who has hard water issues.
Tap water causes a buil-up of salts in the soil, which will harm your plants in the long run. With tap water however you have full control over your minerals, and as a result full control over salt build-up and soil deterioration. Basically YOU can provide exactly what the plant needs, while in the case of tap water, the TAP WATER decides what your plant is getting. In plain English; with proper use of distilled water you get better plants that are more likely to thrive, and scientific studies have confirmed this.

100 percent agree with you!! Of course I have well water so I don’t have to worry about the chlorine.

Does it depend on the plant?
