- In our last season we took control of Rubens Barrichello behind the wheel of a Stewart Grand Prix car in the debut season for that team in the 1997 season. This time out, we go to the other end of the spectrum as we try to give Tyrrell one last hurrah in Formula 1 before becoming the BAR F1 Team in 1999.
Formula 1 '98 has been described as one of the worst F1 games ever, despite being the follow up to one of the best ever! And to coincide with that, we are taking control of the much maligned Ricardo Rosset to keep the Brazilian feel to the playthroughs.
We are on the edge of glory, with two races to go we are involved in a head-to-head battle with Mika Hakkinen. We are 5 points ahead in the World Championship standings as we head to the legendary Nurgburgring circuit for the Luxembourg Grand Prix with a slim chance of winning the title, but a massive chance to put one glove on the trophy! The Tyrrell might not be suited to the circuit, and with the nerves of being so close also playing a factor, this race could go either way.

Appreciate the shout out dude! Unlucky today. At one point it looked like the win was still on but just a few too many slides. Sometimes you catch them, sometimes you don't, and that's F1 98 in a nutshell. 😅 Perfectly poised for the finale!
Not a problem! The harder I tried, the more slides happened, let's hope I can stay calm for the finale lol

@CM91Racing 15 races in and the car still bins itself at random times, a half a dozen times per session. It just shows how bad the handling is that you still can't get the 100% hang of it. After a few races with the dreadful Mansell car, you were basically in the groove. Mistakes were made, but you could see the mastery coming in.
The Mansell issue came with the very very temperamental grass, an inch on and you were facing the wrong way! Lol one I realised that (which in hindsight, took me far too long lol) I got into the groove as you say
The Mansell win at Suzuka is still one of my favourite channel moments
Nurburgring might be tough! This is a track the AI is usually good at, and there's plenty of corners that humans aren't as good at. Best of luck, dude ❤

You picked up 50 subs since last time I noticed. A fair few of your videos have a few hundred views a piece. Delighted you are getting some traction, ironic considering you spend so much of your time in this series sliding around the track.

@CM91Racing Oh, man. That'd be amazing. Colin McRae 1 and 2. A worthy challenge. You could always graduate to Formula One 99, the handling is a bit shit. Not nearly as bad as '98.
@CM91Racing You could do TOCA series on PS1? You could try F1 World Grand Prix 1 or 2 on N64. They are better games than the Dreamcast version, I think.
Definitely graduating to F1 99 to round off the Psygnosis games, but likely to branch out to other games too
Aside from the fairly horrible pop-in, even worse than some other tracks, this is not a bad rendering of the Nurburgring. There's bits where you can tell where you are, and that is good for F1 '98.
And ya know, the car models look OK very close to the camera with only one or two on screen.
The game isn't too bad once you get used to it, but this pop-in is particularly bad. I think it was Magny-Cours that I kept getting lost in lol
