    Every recipe of yours that I have tried has come out exceptional but I will say that I believe that this one is my favorite for several reasons. First, it comes out DELICIOUS, second it is incredibly easy and quick to make, third its the right size for a small family wanting a small treat, fourth all the ingredients I usually have, fifth it maintains its moistness and flavor for a couple days. After making this SEVERAL times, I would suggest making it with half a cup white and half a cup butterscotch chips. Any other chip will also do, but I’ve found that the combination of these two chips (if you like sweet and rich) is the way to go. To cut the sweetness a bit, try using a semi sweet chip or a dark chocolate chip. You simply can’t go wrong with this recipe. It’s exceptional. Thank you!

    It is a Kenwood Titanium Chef KM010, it used to be sold by Delonghi rebranded in the US but they no longer sell it which is the way we bought it. It's now available on Amazon in the US as a Kenwood KMC010.

      Stephanie I have had my Kenwood Chef mixer since 1981 in Ottawa Canada...it is still going strong...actually I had 2 on the go at one time when at the height of my wedding cake era! I just can't imagine using another hands free mixer ever...it will likely outlive me. hahha

    You could, although they will be quite thin. And the baking time will be less. Not sure by how much as I've only used an 8 inch pan.

    Stephanie this is one recipe I wish you could retape in your new kitchen....though a simpler one I think it could use updating as it is a handy square for many church and other functions .thanks, This recipe is best of many I researched...the taste is phenomenal! TY

    You could use chopped nuts or dried fruit for the chocolate. If you want the blondies moist, bake them until there are still moist crumbs on your toothpick.

    Yes, you could use semi sweet chocolate chips. If you don't use brown sugar, then the blondies won't have as much caramel flavor.

    I've tried making blondies with white sugar, and they didn't come out tasting the same. They weren't bad, but they lack the "butterscotch-y" flavor that Stephanie mentions in the video. By the way, on her website it suggests adding 1/4 cup molasses per 1 cup of sugar to make a substitute for brown sugar.

    How come 1/2 cup is 113gr for butter and 85gr for chocolate chips?

    • @joyofbaking
      @joyofbaking  6 років тому +3

      Because butter and chocolate chips have different densities. For example 1/2 cup of rocks would weigh much less than 1/2 cup of feathers.

      if you added white chocolate chips you could manage without vanilla...the brown sugar gives it extra flavour as well.
