Hello, I am the maintainer of Metroid Dreadnought Overhaul, now known as Metroid: Demon Hunter (to avoid headaches with Metroid Dread!) which is a fork of Metroid Dreadnought. It would be really cool if you could link my project as well since Terminus, the original creator of Metroid Dreadnought, hasn't maintained his mod after 1.5c. My fork is built off of 1.5c and features a lot more upgrades: - Actually works with GZDoom (1.5c didn't) - Half Charge Shots - Charge Beam pulls in objects around the player - Varia Suit (protects against slime and fire sectors/floors, 5% reduction of damage) - Gravity Suit (negates water physics, 15% damage reduction) - Shinespark, customizable with CVars (Super Metroid or Other M style) - Spring Ball and Hi-Jump - Variable jumping (holding the jump button results in a higher jump) - Grapple Beam with grapple points you can add to maps - Monster mod compatibility - Missiles customizable with CVar (Super Metroid style with separate super missile upgrades or Fusion style that upgrades the base missiles) - Optimized power bombs and beams so they don't destroy the frame rate - ZScript-ified some of the functions (monster/boss drops, Ice Beam freezing that actually works and has new effects) - Melee attack (beta) - Scan Visor (very beta) - New HUD, textures and 3D models made by my friend Spore Spawn - New arm cannon sprites with overlay support (currently only the power beam) - probably a lot more I'm forgetting If you're interested, link is here: github.com/OrdinaryVanity/mdh/tree/experimental My Github has two branches. Experimental branch will have all the changes listed above but may be buggy. Main is pretty old and lacks many of the features above but it is much more stable. Huge shoutout to Spram for Metroid Doom. Amazing mod that captures the Metroid atmosphere superbly.
I've tried the mod, looks pretty promising, it has an excellent HUD and 3D models. Just to clarify, I take it you meant to link the moddb page for this active mod project?
@@U42R thanks! The ModDB page hasn't been updated in a long, long time because GitHub is easier to maintain as I can just push commits. The ModDB build is broken also in newer versions of GZDoom so I recommend the GitHub link.
I am bearing witness to one of my Christmas wishes right now...
Mom, can I have Metroid Prime?
"We have Metroid Prime at home honey."
Memes aside, this looks pretty slick in all honesty.
I agree, it's pretty good, controls well and definitely manages to offer a Metroidvania experience, the map certainly being of impressive quality.
Played this whole total conversion about a year ago. Now I do it regularly. It's legit a great mod!
I wasn't prepared for how good this was ❤
First Zelda in FPS mode, now Metroid through a DOOM filter?
AWESOMENESS!!!!
I do appreciate you acknowledging that TerminusEst13's Metroid Dreadnought mod exists.
And for this video. I gotta give this one a try sometime.
One of my ALL-TIME FAVORITES!!!
Excellent Video!😊
Thanks, I might do a full playthrough of this one.
Really cool. It almost has a Marathon feel to it in this format.
Finally, an accurate new name for Nightmare
The power of the almighty Doom engine is truly impressive even nowadays
Well...
I need this.
Awesome, have fun!
Bruh, this is so awesome. 😮
Prime 4 is looking good.
I'm looking forward to that release.
A like and a comment for the algorithm good sir
Thanks, appreciated.
Why does it fit, and why wasn't this like a mainline thing for Nintendo very awesome.
Lo adoró, me gusta como luce 😍.
It uses Super Metroid graphics.
Thanks for clarifying, appreciated.
Absolutely Samus kill the Davoth.
Coole Umsetzung 👍
Wheres the Charge Beam?
I don't think it's in this respective mod.
Awesome! Now do a Crysis hack (assuming it will run on it)
I'm unfamiliar with that, what is it?
@@U42R Crysis game (FPS)

Hello, that sounds fine, I will give it a try then put it in the description. Thanks for suggesting it!

@@U42R Nope! My GitHub is the most up to date. The moddb page hasn't been updated in a long, long time. I should update it at some point.

That's the description updated, I hope it meets with your approval, let me know if an edit is required.
By the way, how is progress with the mod?
