I may be collecting stories in the near future to help inspire others so if you'd care to participate when the time comes that would be lovely, but I realize not everyone feels comfortable sharing stories publicly. If you think you'd consider it please send me a note through my contact page: www.diagnosisdiet.com/contact/

    Worst episodes of depression and absolute lethargy I ever experienced in my life were the times I attempted a vegetarian/vegan diet. Felt like my mind was in a fog and my gut was in constant turmoil as well. On a keto/carnivore diet my mind and my insides are at their best. Dropping extra weight, having more energy and not being constantly hungry are just an added bonus🙂

      Cannot agree with the argument that superfoods are not valuable to add to the diet.
      Certainly, the cheapest option for detoxification is fasting - to eat nothing. Yet, to add during re-feeding superfoods that we obtain from animals; this is to our benefit?
      Encouraging people to move over to a meat based diet, is also going to enrich those who produce animal products; in fact the carnivor type diet is impossible to follow for those who are poor?
      Became myself richer in knowing how to add fermented vegetables to my diet (make them myself - for next to nothing, designed my own label, and use them as gifts).
      There are many natural foods (example cacau, raw honey, molasses, etc. etc.) with health benefits; also bitter herbs and a little wine (as prescribed in Scripture).
      Many medications - including some to address cancer - are produced from plant matter. Phytotherapists help the body to heal by adding natural substances. With better health as result: Are we not richer?

    So, I was recently made aware of how the term 'sugary' is often translated by the nutritional illiterate to literally mean white table sugar not all carbs, fructose, glucose etc. Ugh. Older generations understand "starchy" better and understand it to mean both sugar and starchy veggies crackers etc. It was a huge revelation for me while helping someone who thought Orange Soda was equivalent to fresh whole oranges. Something to think about I guess.

    This presentation is missing a key element: meat raised in CAFO's on GMO high-grain feeds, "pesticided" forage, pharmaceutical supplements, and of course numerous antibiotics is no more healthy than a corn tortilla or snickers bar. I do keto/IF, but try to utilize wild seafood more than beef (can't get organic pasture-raised) where I live in Alaska); also no pork, no chicken for same reasons. No diet will be healthy unless the components of that diet are raised/grown from quality soils, clean water and fresh air. Most agriculture in the US fails to meet any of these criteria - thus we consume not nourishing food, but poisonous toxins.

    • @kassandra344
      @kassandra344 4 роки тому +6

      Totally agree with you. Imp, it's not the consumption of meat that is wrong but the way the animals are raised and killed. There is no respect for the animals or the enviroment. Grazing animals need to do just that, graze. Managed the correct way this regenerates grassland which regenerates the entire eco system.

    • @dnalsinamon3137

    • @dnalsinamon3137
      @dnalsinamon3137 4 роки тому +7

      Correct! CAFO's make no sense. Take grazing animals and lock them in a pen. Then spend countless man hours and millions of gallons of fossil fuels ripping up the grazing lands, planting monocrops, spraying pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizer to make the monocrop grow, all while killing the soil, the wildlife above and below the soil, poisoning the ground water, ect. Then hauling the crop to the grazing animals, feeding them antibiotics to try and keep them healthy and hauling their waste away. We need to convert most croplands to pastures and get back to small family farms.

    so many factors at play... science usually isolates and explores one cause and effect, which is interesting, but it may not be helpful in solving a complex problem.. for example, we know that love relations also influence insulin, cortisol and oxytocin levels... even influences gene expression and neural stem cell... outside the west, diagnosis includes the person's whole life,not just including diet, but how well they sleep, chronic stress, family relations/love, etc. this allows for solutions that support, much less side effects...

      How true... Oxitosin - the love hormone - it also supports healing - for example contributes to closing the gaps between enterosites in a leaky gut.
      Believe young people today more often than not have so much psychological problems because of broken homes with absent fathers; also since proper bonding never occurred during the first few years of their lives with their - working outside the home - mothers. Women are far more depressed and prone to whatever diseased state, because they have so few children, and for the few they do have, they have too little time.

    I am not a vegetarian or vegan but my grandmother taught me to soak legumes and discard the soaking water and to cook them thoroughly to remove the antinutrients. My biology prof for a specialized plant-animal interaction course reiterated the same thing. This is important for people who cannot afford a lot of animal protein, for example many working class people in North America. Similarly, old fashioned long fermentation of grains and the use of sourdoughs as leavening before baking bread reduces plant antinutrient compounds.

    Within one month of low carb I was great and have stayed that way. I regularly do intermittent fasting. So easy to do when you are keto adapted.
    I love raw fish such as salmon and tuna. Also oysters. I marinate white fish in lemon juice and add olives, olive oil, avocados, and spring onions. Incredibly delicious!
    On another note I am very concerned about this trend towards veganism. Also a lot of talk now about taxing meat! Never any talk about taxing sugar and all the refined white rubbish. Are they deliberately trying to kill people! Meat is such densely rich food and you don’t need very much. Especially with a fatty cut.

    Both sides of my family are from Italy. So when you say Mediterranean diet that’s what they ate. They all live long lives but towards the last 15 or 20 not very healthy. Grains were cheap and can be stored for long periods of time, and they were poor. They ate meat, dairy products, eggs and vegetables and occasionally if they could find it fish. But mostly they survived on grains. So after studying the effects of carbs on the human system it’s not surprising they all were diabetic. I’d rather die running a marathon when I’m 80 then in a wheelchair drooling into a bucket.

    I've been diagnosed with bipolar 1, ADHD, CPTSD, DID, PNES seizures, epilepsy, night terrors, sleep paralysis, and am in recovery for drug and alcohol addiction. Last year I changed to a plant based whole food diet(no processed foods, sugar, no meat or chicken, and limited fish and dairy, lots of veggies) and It's worked so well I've been able to come off most of the medications I used to be on! Now I'm happier, healthier, and have tons of energy! I walk 2 hours and do an hour of yoga everyday, I meditate, spend time in nature, I get 8 hours of sleep a night, and I'm in perimenopause as well with almost no symptoms!

    Terrific presentation by Dr. Ede, thank you! Hopefully the public discussion will expand to the perfect storm of electromagnetic frequencies (5G, smart phones, etc.), GMO impact to include gut dysbiosis, and the elephant in the room - heavy metals from geoengineering. My husband is a medical doctor practicing for over 20 years. He and his colleagues are noticing an explosion of younger patients presenting with severe illnesses that in the past were typically seen only in much older demographics. A neurologist in the Portland OR area has described an epidemic of children presenting with neurological symptoms and sleep studies showing they are getting very little REM. As I'm a former medical neuroscientist I find this all very troubling. Something's up! Time to start asking hard questions.

      WiFi, radio device (including TV) radiation is non-ionizing which means it cannot cause cancer. So that's nonsense. GMO's are not so bad IMHO (at least I haven't found any serious research against it, only insults from vegetarians/vegans) with the exception that the seed producing companies make them proprietary (sterile). Gut microbiome is the shit in recent times but to link it with radiation is a long shot, don't you think? :D Definitely the probiotics change depending on what you eat. And some studies have shown that they influence your decision making process (i.e. make you a zombie for sugar). So far it seems that most health issues of the 21st century arose from bad diet practices which were fueled by greed of many influental business and political folks.
