Watched plenty of reviews on this board and no one has been as convincing as you to make me pull the trigger on purchasing. Just ordered it 10min ago after watching your review and how much fun you were having.
I've never seen someone look so relaxed and in control of their board as you did in the video. Well done! I'd love to buy one of these but the short range has me questioning it for the price sadly.
Hi mate thanks the board is a pleasure to ride. As far as range it will do 15km even at pretty high speed and for a extra $350 aud you can carry a spare, Interesting point it will stay in GTR or pro mode until it gets to 0% battery then it go to eco and will take you 1km to get home or back to a car. Pretty amazing 😉 Cheers mate Scott
@@scottdaviesyoutube Yep I'm in Melbourne. The spare battery is a nice idea but I don't carry a drill with a screwdriver bit to swap the batteries over. But I really do like the look of that board and your review was excellent. I'm looking for a daily commute board
Ben iv got one on the way and it’s going to be epic, 10S5P battery around 40km range and dual 2000w motors. (Plus double king pin trucks) oh and 35C cells so no (or very little sag) I should have the video out before Xmas depending on when it arrives
SCOTT DAVIES ESK8 & TECH REVIEWS are referring to the Vestar mini? On a scale of 1 to 10 for the perfect Mini board what number does each the Stoke & Vestar mini get ?
I’ve watched this video about 6 times already. I like the 3rd person view because it shows the board in action. I have the Onsra challenger and it’s similar to the stoke
hmmmm good question, I think the 105s from iWonder would be too big, I know there is another brand out there that does 100m but even then not sure it could wreak the way it performs
@@scottdaviesyoutube I've been busy helping my mum move house, first time in 19yrs too! I've plenty of your videos saved and ready to watch though! #Esk8Forever
@Scott Davies Just an idea because I don’t have the board myself. But have you tried fixing the squishy controller by doing the old Xbox controller trigger fix. You basically take the spring out and stretch it then put it back in so the tension is much higher. (Once again i dont have the controller for the board myself so i dont know the internal components but most triggers are just a simple spring)
Hey Scott nice video :) 👍 performance is A+ by the looks of it, awesome area smooth streets where were you ?? I didn’t recognise any of those streets. Keep up the great work you’re tempting me to buy one ;) lol .. but I need more walls lol cheers Andrew⚔️
Andrew Penman haha yea I Remember seeing all your boards in a video a while ago. I shot this out at Rouse Hill NSW bit of a drive but it’s a new suburb and the streets and paths are very good. The board is awesome will really good power and torque and I think You’ll really enjoy it as it carves really really well. Cheers Scott
This board looks really cool but I don't get the price difference between it and a Backfire G3 (hub motor) or Wowgo 3x (belt drive). I finally ordered a Backfire G3 (shipping in progress) which you previously did a cool review !
hi mate thanks for the message, Price is a hard thing to compare and i totally see your point, at the end of the day the Backfire G3 is really good value, the Evolve has a more "premium image" like Boosted so can charge a higher price, Now with all that said, in my option the Stoke should cost less, at the end of the day its a plank of wood 4 wheels, a small battery, BMS and ESC. The Backfire G3 and 99% of other esk8 brands get it right with pricing, I also feel BOOSTED is well over priced, at the end of the day a board is only worth what the customer is willing to pay. Now, looking at the Wowgo 3x (*which i don't have) i can see why the Stoke would cost more, its just made better with more tech better wheels etc. lastly, let me know when your G3 arrives, you will be super happy with that buy, it feels super premium and is smoother than a lot of Chinese belt boards... Cheers Scott
Hi mate, thanks being a double king pin there is a little wobble but it’s just a learning curve. When I first got it loads of. Wobble now I don’t feel any at top speed cheers
Hey mate I know this was 2 years ago just wondering what your weight was … I’m 6’3 106 kgs and it says max is 100 kgs on specs wise haha … you think it will still be fine ? Cheers
How well does it handle high speeds? Would you feel comfortable on that set up if it could go 30 miles an hour? I'm interested in the board, but I've heard conflicting information about the stability of double kingpin trucks at high speeds. What's your opinion?
Yea man I would totally ride this at 30mph. It all comes form to 1) the quality of the trucks and bushings and 2) how you set them up. I have mine a little tight for that very reason but you can loose the nut closest to the group to give a really tight carve but still deliver no speed wobbles at high speed. Anyone who says they can’t go fast on double king pin trucks have not set them up correctly (that’s just my option) Cheers Scott
@@scottdaviesyoutube thanks for your response. As someone with a traditional longboarding background, most of my experience is with Paris and Caliber trucks. I think I'll use double kings on my next build/prototype and see how it goes. What is the fastest you'd be willing to go on that board? If you don't have time to respond to my second question, no worries. I appreciate the response that you've already given me, especially since your videos have a level of analysis that few UA-camrs can even compare too. To put it frankly: your opinion means something lol.
Saudude hi mate, On the current set up I would happily go 30mph, I took the Stoke down a pretty step hill out at Manly and got up to 45kph and it was solid and even carved a little. As I mentioned take the time set them up right and you’ll love them, too many people jump on ride get wobbles and blame the trucks, It took me 30 minutes on my street to get these perfect, but once done it’s a awesome feeing. I have two more boards on the way with DKPT it will be interesting to see how they go compared to the Evolve ones Cheers for the comment Scott

@@scottdaviesyoutube Ok I can understand that they may be comparable from a hardware side of things depending on whether you prefer torque or top speed and range. Which part ?
It’s a 360 camera.
Another stoke battery question. If your batt is on 46% is it better to ride it down on the next ride or charge back to 💯 for the next ride?
Leave at 46 until the day of the next ride and charge up then !!
