- Fishing Hinchinbrook mangroves is amazing, first time i have really been able to explore this place. It literally is a mangrove maze as my buddy Drew Mintoss describes it. Catching mangrove jack and barramundi on topwater frogs was awesome and even fishing for them weedless amongst all the mangroves in this paradise was ridiculous fun..

Absolutely look almost identical to our Mangrove Snappers and the fishing style of skipping baits back up under the mangroves is also identical. Pretty cool stuff man

Great video mate, you had better luck at Hinchinbrook then i did few years ago. i was there right after a cyclone and the fishing was bad and the mangroves were destroyed. Love to go back and have a good session like you had. Keep up the top work mate.
you can still see where the cyclone cleared out sections of the mangroves

thanks legend, yep really like it but maybe a little soft for locked drags chasing the jacks in that terrain

Beast freak mate, not sure on model! I had the rod for work so just used it whilst I was there. Wanted something beefy

mate, i would say from now on. Try to look for weather windows more than anything. Drew is up there at the moment and still catching barra and jacks on topwater

What types of lures produced on this trip ?
Dam! Forgot to put that part in the video! Mainly used diesel minnow in 3” and 4” mate on 1/4oz weed less jig heads. Zman frogs also produced

@@ishankabartholomeusz1023 for jerk baits i prefer a much faster ratio mate, like 7.3:1 to pick up that slack line between twitches easier. check out my barra jerk baiting videos mate, i have full instructionals on the tackle and technique etc
