A Sea King pilot once asked me if they could look through our NVG's and they were gobsmacked, as was I when I looked through theirs. Night Vision gives you either depth of vision, or clarity of vision, but not both. Pilots have the former whilst ground troops have the latter, and the former is shockingly poor.

The aircraft is a Tri-Star 🫡 flown on many to Iraq and Afghan 🫡
He’s actually on about a VC10 buddy, as he mentioned sitting backwards, of which it was the only plane with this seating arrangement.
Was based at Brize for 4 years and flew on it several times to the Middle East.

@@chrisgoodwill3818 no you are bang on mate, the Tristar flew to Afghanistan for many years and I flew back on one from Kabul, but just with him mentioning the seats its a VC10 he’s on about. Crazy thing, super noisy but also the fastest passenger jet in the world once Concorde retired.
