    Clayton this has to be the coolest looking game room I’ve ever seen. If I had the opportunity to have someone design a game room for me this is it for the most part. I would install a mini fridge for drinks and snacks.

      @@ClaytonMorris oh cool I must of not paid attention lol. Oh you mention playing octopath traveler with Miles soon. About the bosses in that game they can take a while and are very specific on how you should fight them. I would recommend your starting character be the thief. Because you can get a good amount of items as you level up through out the game.

    You should just make some custom shelves, attach them directly to those slanted studs on the walls, then put some kind of barrier rail along the front so the cases don't fall down. This is how you can utilize more of that empty space at head-height or above.

  • @anavgamerican2251
    @anavgamerican2251 8 місяців тому +3

    Suggestion (presuming you got the time with everything else on your schedule). Using those book shelves you have presently is taking up A LOT of floor space. But you could measure out and cut planks of wood to fit between the studs and build your shelving right I to the wall space, which would additionally provide a book end of sorts. As for organization, I'm personally a fan of alphabetical order, if there's a game you get the urge to play, that's the most effective way to locate. If you wanted to separate them from "completed" to "not completed" as well, you could just separate them between shelves. Could be done as well for games to revisit, or whatever you wanted to do with it.

    What about a custom built lazy suzan type rack with slots to hold game cases and spin to the games you want. You would have to have it built to your specification, how tall, how many to hold etc! That way you can eliminate games hiding behind other games on a shelf, just a thought. 😊

    Throw all of that shelving clutter out and make shelves in between the wall studs of the room, freeing up space for a much bigger gaming TV. 😉 86" runs around $900 now and at least a 75" for around $700.

    Grab some lumber and split the shelf space so you can put two rows side by side. You could make it just wide enough for the games, so you have a nice little shelf you can store taller stuff on in front of the games, like figures etc.

    Hmmm tbh i'd bin off that shelving its not ideal for games collecting, might be a bit extreme but id also look at squaring off that room, you have a lot of space in the middle that isnt getting used so yes the room would be smaller but you'd actually make more use of the space, if you were to square the room off i'd suggest you get some racking put up, thats what i did and it means you can adjust the shelving height as you see fit and it runs floor to ceiling so no waste, no double stacking etc.

    If your shelving units are deep enough, you should try double rowing your games but put something underneath the row at the back (I use a block of foam board that can easily be cut to size) to raise them up above the row in front. That way, you can still see the games in the row behind and you free up more space.

    Physical media for the win, buying digital isn't for me unless the physical media is unreasonably expensive, rare, or if digital is the only available way to play it. This room and collection is great.
    I'd sort it by consoles, alphabetical, and by time period. So you go from the retro stuff to the modern stuff. I have an old TV to use for my SNES, N64, GameCube, and PS2. I have a modern TV for the modern consoles such as PS3, PS4, and Switch.
