You are right. Every time I get to go, it's a Blessing from God and I sure appreciate all the bluegill that make a day filled with some action. My in line spinners (usually a Mepps) have been great for me too for many years.
I went out there for 3 days and Wade fished below the power dam and that's the only lure I used the whole time and I slammed on the fish, just bought a couple kayaks for my wife and I and we're going back in October love the area and the peaceful serenity
Nice Yak! I also drive a Toyota truck and kayak fish SF from Lynnwood to Alma areas often. Can you share details about put in at Cub Run? I have not found a good way to fish above Newport Dam since Dam Acres closed. Putting in at Kite's store and paddling up river against current is a lot of work to get above dam access!
I have a friend that owns some property on the river; that’s how I get in at Cub Run. I don’t get to do it often though because my friend runs a B&B and I can only put in when it’s vacant (which isn’t often). The other option, and it’s a workout, is to put in at Grove Hill landing and float down to Cub Run.
Im going to the South Fork of the Shenandoah River next week. First time too. Can anyone recommend a good spot or two to fish for Smallies without a boat?? Any tips sure would be appreciated very much.
@@bobbychatterback I know exactly where you're at oh, I just got a kayak and was looking to put in and see what's up. My little girl just caught a 4 lb Largemouth right there at the dam in Shenandoah

Beautiful day and even better on the water. Stay safe!
Love the South Fork. When I throw curly tail grubs, yellow and chartreuse colored, I catch more smallies than anything else.
Those little spinners will catch all sorts of things. Nice session, dude. Love brown bass!
Much respect. I’ll get better at these videos and fishing, hopefully! 😂

Awesome video, where are you located on the south fork? I am near Elkton Va
I put in at Elkton often too, but this was at Cub Run above the damn near Page County High School.

Love the video! Do you trout fish as well?
Yea… there are a few trout streams around here. Once in a while I give it a shot, but still learning the tricks of that specie. How about you?
I’ve caught a few on a spinner and a spoon. Going to try and get some big ones this year!
