Potent Printables what filament are you using? If you could please put a link I would love that. I’m looking for PLA filament. I am going to buy that pen as well because I found it rather useful. Please and thanks in advance. Love ur vids keep it up!😊
I have been using Hatchbox PLA like this link: amzn.to/2u9h4t1 Keep in mind these are big 1kg spools usually used for 3D printing, so it is a lot of filament for 3D penning. I have also been using a nice "sample pack" of PLA filament from Amazon Basics, which was 22 colors in smaller amounts for like $30 but it seems to have been discontinued. I will probably next try this sample pack: amzn.to/2lJkFwX Hope this helps!
Great series! I was looking for something like this, but just couldn't find it. Until this showed up. Thank you! I would like to see a video about do's and don'ts. Like, "dont use it on this material, it might melt but this material is great for this use" or something like that.
Thank you and glad you found it helpful. By use on a material, you mean materials that you can and can not pen over with PLA? In other words can you pen over a plastic tupperware container vs a ceramic plate?
Thank you , I do alot of FDM. printing, and I will be adding a 3D pen to my tool set , because it's handy to make basic shapes of objects that are much easier to do by hand and to give them a different texture!!
Taking a look at the pens I have, it seems like most of them would work for left handed people. The only thing that would change would be operating some of the buttons with your pointer finger vs thumb.
The one I bought works left handed as well, but I can see the screen as well as I wish I could. It still works very nice and I just do a little turn to see the screen. It’s very nice, quick cooling, comes with 3 small spools, and it doesn’t cost all too much. I want to buy a 3D pen. I’ve never used a 3D pen before and don’t know much about them or how to use it. However, I find it very satisfying and relaxing habit. I watch a few of your great videos for beginners and advanced. Your have a great talent and patient. 😁 What 3D pen do you recommend for beginners and non toxic. Thanks.
Hi from Brazil! Nice tutorial! Please, would you update the link to buy the 3d Pen at Amazon? Or better, would ou tell us the name of the product or manufacturer? Thanks.
Thank you. I updated the link, so it is not broken anymore, but that model is still out of stock. The manufacturer and model number are: Soyan PR026-3-US An alternative to that pen is: amzn.to/32O5pjj I also have a 3D Pen Buying Guide video, which has a link to spreadsheet I made comparing many of these pens.
hi! do you have issues with the fumes/vapors/smells from the burning plastic? I’ve been using a 3d pen for the past few months and started noticing health issues. What type of precautions/ventilation do you use?
I don't use ABS filament. That filament gives off a lot of fumes and has been shown to cause health issues from very long term use. I mostly use PLA filament and some TPU (flexible) filament. You can also use a "solder fume extractor" if you want to direct all fumes away from you. I don't currently do this, but have considered it.
Kayla noya he’s not showing you how to get a 3D pen working lol he’s giving tips very helpful tips if you try these and they don’t work that just means you need to practice more

I haven't seen any severe warping issues caused by it. Keep in mind that I'm typically not checking for this though.
