🇦🇺😎👍Mate for years I thought Suzuki motorbikes were shit but after owning 3 Suzuki DR650 in a row I’m in love ❤. I’d love to own a PE❤

It's really an outstanding job restoring the 1980 Suzuki PE 175. Beautiful!
I owe this exact year and model. Back in the day, raced Enduros in the northeast of the United States and did very well. Fun bike to ride and extremely dependable.
The PE always started right up even after sitting for 9 months.
Again, beautiful job. Enjoy the ride 😊😊

I Love it and nice restoration ! I have a 1978 PE 175 and has US Forrest Service on it's silencer as well . My understanding was that the " Spark Arrestor " was approved by the US Forrest Service .

Nice I had an 83 PE175..I would race RM's and blow them up and practice on the PE..never touched it and never blew it up..unbelievably hard to kill machine...engine is like a ER185 but heaps more rpm.

Awesome job mate. I do the same thing, restore them old two strokes. Good job on the tank too. And it's all the other little details that make the difference.

Great job. I’m in UK and recently bought a 1981 model PE 175. I love it, ~It’s in pretty good shape and largely all original. Needs some stripping down and tidying. Did you have to do much with the carb, and how are your brakes? Mine is road registered so I’ll be using it on some local lanes...but I need to be able to stop, so the brakes need some work first !

In the US the national forest is managed by the Forest Service. There are some trails that you can ride on and a requirement is a spark arrestor to supposedly stop forest fires. The rangers that patrol the parks know nothing about dirt bikes so, if it doesn't have a sticker or stamping saying it's approved then they will ticket you or throw you out. The stamping is Suzuki complying with US requirements.

Thats almost my bike, PE175T I bought new in 1980... I recognise every part of it. A well tuned unit should just wheelstand in 4th gear.
Miss a bike with a radical power-band when there it was all or nothing. My only gripe was the rear shocks so replaced with Ohlins.

In the late 70’s and throughout the 80’s Suzuki was quite adamant about complying to our Federal Laws. They actually employed people to go to their dealer network unannounced to check all the safety components for proper installation and operation. From the front brakes to the tail light. On road, off-road & ATV’s got the once over. The Factory allowed a given number of marks annually to the Dealer. Eclipse that number and the Dealer was fined. How or how much I never knew bcuz I turned wrenches. Sales and Front Office dealt w/American Suzuki. All this stress on the Dealers while basic bicycles and skateboards flew off store shelves by the thousands daily w/all their safety features, right? Not !!! Back then U S Forestry Service, U S Park Management & The Bureau of Land Management (BLM).
