Haters. George Michael is one of the best songwriters and singers. Ahead of his time. He has left a void in his death. The music that could have been made. RIP

We’re those his then original, older fans? Gen Z and millennials should be loving him. They missed one of the greatest, bcs new music is mostly bad. I was with George “I’m Your Man,” and ever since. During recent heat wave, I watched him do this grand concert, and I loved it. Nothing George Michael has ever done musically or otherwise will make me love him less. About to turn 70, I listen to and love him more than ever.

He said once if you just listen to the lyrics in his music its all there. He put himself in those lyrics. It hurts 💔 to know his pain was right there for all to hear. The song to Kenny (Where I Hope You Are) is just another heart felt masterpiece. What a lovely beautiful man thank you George for leaving your soul's journey behind for those who care to really listen. RIP✝️ Mr. George Michael you were loved❤

George took prescribed opioids for his back…..when you are addicted to:opioids it is beginning of the end…if you do not kick it. The damage to liver is really bad after years. The drug companies made millions of opioids and they knew long before anyone what was going to happen. You were given prescription for a legitimate reasons and many became addicted.😢

The life of a sensitive soul is a constant struggle for survival, bringing courage from the depth of the heart to bear upon difficulties imposed by the heartless. Or indifference from people who lack the ability to understand life on a truly meaningful level. George Michael will always be an inspiration for everyone who lives with meaning and with undiminished love, despite any disapproval from the world.

This song was used as the conclusion of my local news station's obituary for George when he died. After listening to this whole song again, I couldn't stop crying and tearing up as this man beautifully singing out those feelings of torment, despair, and quiet resilience. For the first time, we get a candid glimpse of George Michael not as a superstar but as a human being going through the final years of his troubled life.....

Lisa T, I couldn't agree more Lisa. Literally two of my all time favorite singers period. However they were of my generation/a bit older, so that made them perfect to "grow up" listening to them and continue as you're an adult because the both were such amazingly rare talents. They were both on a rare list(this was b4 streaming, downloading, etc) of artists that I would do a "blind buy" on. If it had their name on it and I'd never heard it, didn't matter I'd buy it without a doubt. Because you always knew it was going to be superb. For Whitney, that did sadly change as she seemingly forever changed her voice with smoking and whatever else. It was just at that time a tragedy. I recall my BFF who shares my love of Whitney & George and most other things, bought "Just Whitney" we were sampling and then saw that she covered Debbie Boone's "You Light up my Life". Well, we knew that was something WH would sing the hell of, kept waiting, the song ended we just looked at each other confused, astonished that she did such a "flat, uninspired, unentertaining" cover of a song she should've torn into and left us with that feeling that few people in the history of music ever could. It was the beginning of the end for her, I hoped just her career, but sadly that wasn't to be and now also Bobbi Kris too, just horrific. George passing so suddenly was even more of a shock, though both were just surreal. At a family Christmas open house I came into a room where it was so casually being discussed that GM had just died. They had no idea how much I adored him, his artistry. Then someone says "it must've been AIDS", I had to say just b/c a gay man dies doesn't mean it's HIV/AIDS. It didn't matter what else was said, only the gutted feeling I had that not only someone I found 2b extremely talented, writing, producing, playing all the instruments on his albums and singing them too, what a great song writer. Especially for those that kept following him beyond "Faith" & beyond just the singles, he wasn't prolific, but what he gave us was pure quality, no filler. We've lost so many greats from "my time of growing up & beyond" (was it that same time for you also Lisa?), music is my oxygen. Most of the Icons are gone, MJ, WH, Prince,David Bowie, George Michael and more, sad doesn't come close... Peace & take care.

Mark Ulrich , similar experience. All the insensitive comments and assumptions - even jokes- people so callously shared around the time of his passing while I sat there like I had lost a dear friend who I loved since I was 9. Six months later, I wish him a happy birthday and am still so saddened he's left us. He was THROUGH and now he is eternally happy.

Amen! I visualize George as the lead Angel singer. He was the greatest singer on this earth.

    • @Twistedpeppermint99
      @Twistedpeppermint99 6 років тому +3

Mark Ulrich : It has taken me over a year to read this comment. I actually fell into a deep depression after hearing the news of George Micheal's death. It absolutely devestated me. I just.. Could not believe he was gone. I didn't want to believe all of the news reports and twitter replies from other artists in the industry. I could not accept my dear George was gone. It was bad enough that I was menopausal (Lol) at the time, so my emotions were already a mess.. It was bad enough I was going through changes at work and right after eating Christmas dinner, my husband, along with some other family members, watched a movie and while doing so, my husband was on his phone. He was on Facebook, actually. He said, "Hmm, looks like the singer, George Michael died today. Didn't he have a Christmas song?"
I will never forget the tone of my husband's voice. I squeezed his hand next to me.
"Please tell me this is a hoax. George Michael did not die on Christmas," I said matter-of-factly. "No way!"
After the movie ended, I decided to do a Google search myself. It was everywhere and it was true. I cried the longest "noooo" sound. I cried in disbelief and sheer pain. My heart sunk so low. My eyes started to water. I had to leave the room, where everyone was. Seriously. I got up slowly and went into the bathroom, phone still in hand. Someone asked if I was "all right" and I wasn't.
One of the best male voices of the past 30 years was gone. My heart was so sad because as big as a fan of his music I was, I never saw him live. I have nearly all of his albums. All but two. I was so terribly sad for several months. I never knew how much of an impact his music meant to me. It was evident in my depression. I eventually got myself together again by March but whammo! Did George Micheal's death hit me hard.
I knew he wrote and sang songs that reflected his life. He endured a lot of pain and I pray he is at peace now. His music will forever live in our hearts.

In the past present and future. of today's world You Worked your whole life to do what you loved to do and do for others !, Such a God giving human being. So what you. did for others and humanity whether giving to charity or making others forget about their problems through your musical talents.was a God given blessing for the 53 yrs you were on this earth 😍 What is sad though is that you didn't do it for your self That's how selfless of a person you were George . IM SAD ALSO A REAL SOMEONE WASN'T THERE TO HELP YOU. BUT THAT'S O.K BECAUSE Your with the Lord above and you and GOD'S Angels are doing what the Lord loves best 💝! Such beautiful words and so on point. When one constantly feels attacked and never feels understood, it slowly destroys you. I think George Michael felt like a caged circus animal sometimes. I think when you have such deep emotions like he did and struggled with great loss, it tore him apart. Mr. Michael, you are free to soar like an eagle and fly as high as you desire. I miss your great talent with lyrics and melody that haven't been seen since you were with us. This is what saddens me the most; the desire to create beauty and artistic excellence as it was when i was young.
You are deeply missed. Can you imagine what it would be like if artists like David Bowie, Luther Vandross, Bobby Caldwell, Donny Hathaway, and Freddy Mercury were still here? This makes me sad. ☹️💔

    Is that enough?
    I think it's over
    See, everything has changed
And all this hatred may just make me strong enough
    To walk away
They may chase me to the ends of the earth
    But I've got you babe
And they may strip me of the things that I've worked for
    But I've had my say
    So hear me now
    I've enough of these chains
I know they're of my making
No one else to blame for where I stand today
    I've no memory of truth
But suddenly the audience is so cruel
So God, hey God you know why I'm through
    Through
    I guess it's tough, I guess I'm older
    And everything must change
But all this cruelty and money instead of love
    People, have we no shame?
They may chase me to the ends of the earth
    But I've got you babe
And they may take away the things that I've worked for
    But you'll pull me through
It's so clear to me now
    I've enough of these chains
Life is there for the taking
What kind of fool would remain in this cheap gilded cage
    I've no memory of truth

From pink shorts and tanks to three-piece suits ~ or an even more casual look with just a nice shirt and jacket, if you know his music and lyrics, you can see his transition in both styles as to his growth by how he dressed. When I listen to " Careless Whisper " even though he is more quaffed, he is casual with look. But true to " form " his movements with his hands toward the end " punches " me hard. I so loved this man, as one of the most " intriguing souls " to be born. ~ RIP George, I miss you ~ always will ~ Lisa

Such a beautiful soul, what transpired was so foul, George you needed it not and some cruel hearts hurt you then forgot. You carried on despite all the disdain. We all loved you and now remember your pain! Your voice is like a smooth lovely stream... I listen to you and then I dream. May you always Rest In Peace , you know how the music touched our souls and shall never cease. You are written in history, you earned a life, you gifted us constantly to eternity. The music you shared, with an open ❤️

Its only now that we listen to words of George songs we can hear the torment in his mind and what he was trying to say with he's beautiful lyrics in later years. When you been on the dark side with a tortured trouble mind and personally know what its like and its hard to come back without help or like yourself. And its becomes so easy to press the self destruction button. From a fan of the same age who was on the same ride as lots of us grew up with George being like friend we never knew he was somebody through his music touch our lives. I can remember George saying what is it with the public when screw up and publicly humiliate myself my career pops back up like a duck in the bath. The main reason was you pure talent in his music also we all could see your human mistakes that we all make but loved your honesty about them. I dont care what the haters will say about you or your sexuality thats nothing to do them nor should we sit here a judge you !!!!! We are all saints we are all sinners so let the first Person who hasn't sinned cast the first stone. God bless you may you be welcome in heaven

Exactly..God is our final judge anyway.. like you said, everyone makes mistakes.. no one is perfect. George's music, especially the past 15 years, was so heartfelt. Like, the older he got, the more mounumental and honest his music became. He aged like a fine wine. He saw life for how cruel it can really be and didn't stray away from it. He constantly spoke about the British press being "unrelenting hunted hounds" and how he got "blacklisted" by the American record label Sony, after 1998.

    • @marklulrich
      @marklulrich 7 років тому +21

Lisa T, I agree with you totally! On that note of how hounded he was... we sure did miss out on a lot of music by one of the most talented singer/songwriter/producer/musicians of all time b/c he was so unrelentingly chased and not supported by his record label(s). I can only imagine he's got some great music we've never heard. Have you heard the song he wrote about the very painful ending of his relationship with Kenny? I just did, surprised I didn't before called "Where I hope you are". It's a really emotional song check it out here on UA-cam, some of the vids he explains quite a bit of what he meant, why he wrote it and how he feels about Kenny and the end of their love. This is a song anyone in love with someone that it cannot work out with can truly relate to, gender is irrelevant, it's about the heart, love and pain. All universal...we are all so much more alike than not, if we'd just give each other a chance... Peace to all, especially George. ❤✌🏼

George I miss you and love you so much. I still struggle to accept your passing: time will never heal this wound. You made this world a much nicer place by being a part of it. Such a mesmerisingly beautiful voice, a heart of gold, so very gentle, amazing sense of humour, highly intelligent and so very generous and philanthropic . Thank you for everything. How lucky we were to have you. You have enriched our lives in so many ways. We danced with you during times of joy, cried with you during great sadness and felt less alone when times were unbearable. Thank you George.

Now that all the hype over George passing away is over and people saying how sad it was. I wrote a message 9 months ago about George and it still feels like we were blessed to of had such a talent but we been robed of this man full and potential offerings in the music world. When you listen to some of his later work and lyrics if Lennon or McCartney had wrote them we all would be saying what classics they were like PRAYING FOR TIME and many more. I wonder if he is looking down and yes I really hope he made it to heaven because of joy he brought to us and how he was Greek Orthodox I'm sure God would of welcome him because of torture and pain he went through in this life. Its only now that I think we all realise what a pure genius and ahead of his time he was. I think we all miss you George and the light was blown out to soon last Christmas. Still thinking of your bitter sweet songs that tugs your heart with emotions from your personal experiences which we all can relate to thats why you are right up there with the best. God bless you George still in our hearts will be thinking of you as Christmas comes around again. Take care all fans for we been blessed .
