I was 35 when I got married. I always told myself I was only going to do this once. I was scared "shickless" and literally cried throughout the ceremony. 33 years married and 38 years together, we're still going strong and are doing our "happily ever after". I wish you all the same happy ending.

I'd have LOVED a silver wedding dress! I'm surprised you don't see them more often to be honest as not everyone wants white or ivory and this is just an extra step away.

Ah! The bride and groom at the end! I love these clips. When I got married in 1998 in the U.S., there were barely any options for plus sizes. I looked fine, but I didn't feel beautiful and there were no compliments for me. I wish I could do it all again and feel so wonderful this time. :)
Why not renew your vows on your 25th Anniversary? That would be next year in 2023, right? Gives you a few months to plan and perhaps choose another dress, whether a simple style or whatever (wedding dresses can also be rented!). Congratulations to you and your husband on your long married life together.
I live in the US and got married in 1990. I was a size 16 at the time and I was shocked at how rude the salesperson was basically telling me that I was too fat for their dresses as they only had samples up to size 8-10 tops. It was the only bridal shop that carried the dresses I had fallen in love with and it came in white, ivory, a pale pale pink and in a very light blue which I really wanted to see. I was willing to pay extra to get it in my size, but she said that they didn’t make them in my size and basically refused to take my measurements and check with the designer and company who made the dress. I left in tears and was so angry and hurt because I had driven over 6 hours to visit the bridal shop. It was in a very metropolitan area near Washington DC not far from where I used to live before my parents sold our childhood home and moved to the opposite side of the state to an area that is extremely country and southern and very far behind the times with regards to fashion. I didn’t realize how hard it was to even find a bridal shop that carried larger sizes and when you found one the options were extremely limited and not what I had pictured my wedding dress would look like. Even in the store where I found a dress the sales consultant was rude and kept saying that I needed to order my dress in a size 22 which was 4 sizes larger than what I wore and I hate tight clothes which was why I wore an 16 to avoid anything to tight. After she wrote up my order she changed the size to a size 22. Needless to say when I went for my first fitting it was huge and didn’t fit me at all. I am shortwaisted and needed to have the sleeve and bodice taken in a good 3-4 inches because the sleeves kept falling off my shoulders and I was constantly having to pull up the bodice because to much cleavage and possible wardrobe malfunction was likely to happen and totally inappropriate for a church wedding. I am also 5’8” which affects the length of the dress and where different parts hit my body could be different from how the designer intended it to look. I was very disappointed with my dress and the seamstress didn’t do all of the alterations I had requested, but there was nothing I could do about it as I had paid for it myself and we didn’t have time to order a different dress from a different store even if we could have found one. My husband and I had talked about doing a vow renewal at our 25th wedding anniversary, but my health at the time was extremely fragile because I was battling spinal cord injuries, breast cancer and endometrial cancer and all of the various medications had caused me to gain a lot of weight so there was no way I would find my dream dress. Plus we had lost my mother a few years before and frankly too much was going on as I struggled to get through the day while also dealing and our daughter ‘s health issues brought on by my health issues and the fact that I had very nearly escaped dying 6 different times. We have been married for 31 years and we have been through so many challenges and hurdles and thankfully God has stepped in and brought the right people into my life when I needed them most. Our anniversary is right before Christmas and we will celebrate 32 years of marriage.
@@meiraloraduncan8953 Wow...what a lot you, your husband and daughter have been through...Your hubby is very caring and must have been so worried for both "his girls" at those difficult times. I know he's a caring man because you've been together and he has stayed for the whole length of your marriage, because he loves you. Believe it or not, some husbands turn out to be utterly selfish and simply walk away in similar situations - not yours tho'.
It may be a bittersweet memory when you think about your wedding dress, but all your husband would have seen is his beautiful Bride walking towards him.

I can totally relate with you. I got married here in the US in 1991 as a plus size bride. There was absolutely, very little choices for someone of my size. I really didn't love my dress at all, but I didn't have any other choices. We really have come a long way in plus size fashion, since those days.

I love love love the matching white tops that Jo and Al are wearing in this episode. Those 2 are so terrific anyway, but they are stunners today. I am just riveted to this series because of them and the way they treat the brides so special and w/ respect. I think they could have an offsite event that we would buy tickets to where we could all try on dresses and have a bridal fashion show. Like a weekend or something and we would all just laugh laugh laugh OK K

The first bride? I thought that silver dress was absolutely stunning. The dress she ended up picking was also amazing. However, every time I looked at her I kept saying to myself: oh honey, don't wear white lipstick.

This gorgeous lady looks better in the mesh top dress than anyone else I have seen try it on ….I actually liked that one best but she looked amazing in the dress she chose even though it isn’t the one she said yes to in the showroom.

Poor Pippa & Adam. The nerves really got to them both. So glad they got through it without any "problem" like fainting, throwing up, etc. They looked lovely. Pippa looked beautiful once she started smiling. I'm sure their wedding photos have plenty of smiles & show how happy they were once their nerves calmed down.

Ladys, zunächst ein riesen Kompliment, Ihr seht super aus, das Outfit passend zum Thema, elegant und trotzdem schlicht, denn die Braut steht im Mittelpunkt für Euch und das sieht man. Ich mag auch die unaufgeregt, freundliche Art, welche jeder noch so aufgeregten oder an sich selbst zweifelnden Braut das Gefühl vermittelt, dass es das passende Brautkleid auch für sie gibt. Die Auswahl in der Boutique ist einfach überwältigend! Was mir ganz wichtig ist: Keine der etwas molligeren Damen sollte an sich zweifeln! Jede, die ich bisher hier gesehen habe, sah am Ende wundervoll aus. Natürlich ist es Geschmackssache und ich spreche wirklich nur für mich. Aber wenn die Braut zu dünn ist und dadurch auch oft (ev. durch die Diät für's Hochzeitskleid) an den falschen Stellen einiges fehlt, kann auch das schönste Kleid nicht so wirken wie gewünscht.
Es braucht nunmal etwas "weibliche Fülle", um so ein Kleid eben, auch der Persönlichkeit entsprechend, im wahrsten Sinne zu "füllen"! Die Kunst, zu sehen, was genau zum Typ und der Figur der Braut passt, ist dabei eine ebenso wichtige Komponente. Und das erstaunt mich bei Ihnen, liebe Ladys, immer wieder! Einfach großartig! 😘❤
