The older i get, the more i am getting interested in this history. 34 1st nations languages in BC! Also once these started to be disrupted im sure there was the usual mixing within these and that would have been quite interesting as well. I have heard of an old trader/gold rush language that was a mix of Enflish, French, Spanish and various local languages all mixed. We still have a few words locally that honor this past.As a mid 30's white guy from Vancouve, it would be cool to be able to be able to at least speak a few sentances of some of the original local languages, at least making an effort.
