- EMD SD70MAC, EMD SD70MACe, EMD SD40-2, GE ET44AH, GE Dash 8, ... There's a great variety of locomotive power in this video. Of the 6 trains portrayed, five are manifests, which are always interesting to watch because of their diverse composition. We also take a closer look at recently upgraded CSX #4540. Enjoy!
It's Great to see CSX getting onboard with the rebuild program. Those SD70Macs are very much worth rebuilding.
Absolutely. I was very happy when I heard they intended to rebuild them and keep running longer.
i guess it is quite randomly asking but do anyone know a good place to watch new series online ?
@Christian Brendan Try Flixzone. Just search on google for it =)
@Christian Brendan try FlixZone. You can find it by googling :)

Excellent video! The SD70 locomotive is my favourite, and the initial part with the rain, is fantastic!
Thanks! I know, the rain shots always look great, but first one has to get wet :)
The weather wasn't too pleasant on March 4th, but the rain can't stop these big freight trains. We see a lot of nifty CSX locomotives here. 4540 is a cool rebuilt engine and that little yellow decal on her is very cute. I really like the end of the video, when the two trains meets. And of course the mid-train helpers are awesome again. This is a very fine upload, thanks for sharing this. :)
Thank you for the thorough analysis of the video's highlights :) The rain wasn't great on March 4th, but my biggest "enemy" while filming is actually strong winds like on March 6th. You're welcome!
Love them MAC’s can’t go wrong with them man that boxcar logo MACE 4540 is absolutely gorgeous!
Absolutely. I completely agree.
Great shots. I like the shot you captured of the SD70AC. The shots in the rain looked dramatic. Excellent video as usual. Stay safe.
Many thanks! I shot another MACe today lol :) I like them. Stay safe, too!
mbmars01 EMD calls the SD70MACe, but CSX calls them SD70ACs. Look at 14:23 under the number.
Also thanks for getting out there in the crappy weather for all of us, it looked and even sounded miserable out there hearing the rain drops on the microphone made me wanna bundle up next to a warm fireplace lol
Yea, this was bad weather, but honestly I like those shots in the rain. I guess, the dripping sounds came actually from the umbrella as I try to prevent the camera from getting (too) wet.
Great way to start and end a video MB, i love those SD70's, two different trains with mid-train DPU's, those old KATY grain cars and the old old autoracks turned into flat cars to haul steel. WOW MB, when you go train hunting, you go train hunting, great job as always. Hope you and your family safe during these crazy times.
Thanks for your kind response, Scott. It's true, there are a lot of interesting details in the video. I'm (still) doing well; I hope, you're safe, too!
Excellent as always. Great catch of the Big Mac on the point.
Thanks! I loved watching those MACs!
More great captures
Great, thanks!
Awesome variety of power from older to newest 👍👍
I know. It was really a nice variety of engines CSX put on those trains.
Thanks MB for the video I appreciate your work nicely done. I always enjoy the area’s where you shoot. Take care
You're welcome! Be careful, too. This virus is a nasty thing...
A flared SD70MAC! nice catch man!
I always like to catch these. They are my favorite EMDs.
@@mbmars01 They're cool, that's for sure! I personally like the ST70AHs better though. ;)
Love it! Not much EMD left on CSX, good to see the flared radiator MAC and rebuild MACe! Keep it up!
Cool! No question, GE dominates here, too, but there are some EMDs showing up here also at times.
nothing better than seeing an SD70MAC, an SD40-2, and a YN2 AC4400CW on a CSX train in 2020. who agrees? 🔥
This was a sweet lashup, for sure.
Eugene Stoner just don’t
Eugene Stoner start that foamer stuff
Eugene Stoner u lame
@@TNandTXRailfan amen bro
Wonderful power and video
Many thanks! Very cool you enjoyed this one, too!
Great job. The video was certainly worth the wait and anticipation .
Thanks Bro.
Keep'm Roll'n!
Yea, the upload of 4k videos takes a while and UA-cam's processing as well. Great you like it and yes, there will be more...
Grait video bro. Stay healthy and safe.
Great, thanks! Be safe, too!
Awesome catches! Looks like these upgraded MACs are starting to become common now.
Thanks. Yes, they now show up frequently here. Because of its bumpiness, this line is hungry for AC traction, so this is probably not surprising.
Great video.
Cool, thanks!
Hmm was that Q582 as long as the breakdown recorder Q616?
Nice video sir!! Cool shots and catches sir!! Keep up the great work sir!! Imma see the Pennsylvania heritage NS 8102 later on it will be a dpu finally saw it lead last week!!
Many thanks! Have fun and good luck!
OKS !! GREAT catches as always !!! Did I see a box car door open on that 1st catch the 2nd time when it went past the Grain Mill ???? Didn't catch the name on the car as was an ""OL''car !!! Anyhows ,,waiting for more when the rain stops for awhile !!haha "KEEP IT SAFE ""!!!
Empty boxcars often travel with their doors open. Lol, yes, the heavy rain was an exception. Stay safe, too!
nice closeup of the overhaul sticker on 4540 and the warning about the handbrake on the truck...........ya ' gotta get more closeups of those signals so we can see the aspect and watch it drop down to all red......good vid. thanks
Thanks, cool! I think there at least two or even three signal drops in the video :)
[..CSX..] , nice video .
Yeah, I actually like the CSX boxcar logo! Thank you!
Thanks for the nice video!
You're welcome! I'm happy you enjoyed it!
Great CSX variety footage, thanks. I've seen #4540 (ex-740) referred to as a "slip 'n' slide". As it appears to have been built as a MAC, and the comment pre-dates the ACe conversion, I am wondering why this is. Can anyone shed any light, please?
You're welcome!
Something scraping at 21:37?
If you drive a train do you sometimes sleep over in a hotel or are the conductors home everyday, how far does a shift take you from home?.
all depends... through freights (pool turns) stay over night in a hotel then catch another train back to their home terminal... folks who work on a wayfreight or in the yard are the ones who go home EVERY day
"how far does a shift take you from home"... depends on the local agreements set between the unions and the railroad... on through freights an 8 hour day is based on MILES run... also based on how far the distance is between terminals... so how far you run depends on how far away the next terminal is from your home terminal... but it's not uncommon for the avg miles on a through freight to be around 130 miles for a 8 hour day give or take
How do you find out stuff like the trains name Q583? Do you have a radio or something? Great catches btw too
Yes, I use a scanner, but I sometimes have additional information as well (e.g., through Facebook groups).
Keep 'em coming!
Yes, sure!
Thoroughly enjoyed this video.any idea what the fan's purpose is on the engineers side of the long hood on the rebuilt mac?
Thanks so much! I can only speculate, maybe it's for cooling the alternator and electronics?
@@mbmars01 I suspected that and your probably correct. Thanks!
So many shades of blue and yellow - standardize already! - pick Chessie's old colors! What's old is new again!
Get the flared macs while you can, they wont last long
Those same 3 locomotives led a gta in train through here about 3 weeks ago
Nice!
Black Sunday 29 March Train CSX
Does anyone know what is the maximum speed is allowed
I think the max. track speed on this line is 50 mph.
0:50 I NOTICED THEY CHANGED THE RAILROAD CROSSING..THE LIGHTS NEVER HAD THAT...I WISH THEY COULD JUST LEFT IT HOW IT WAS BEFORE IT LOOKED BETTER WHYYYYY
I liked the crossing way before it got led why they doing this 😞
Yes, well, things change... I wish the crossings in Carlton weren't quiet zones...
5:35 I’ve saw that car!!!
Lol
Very very 😁😀😁😀😊
Lol, cool :) Great you like it.
