- Hello Lovely Viewer. Happy Valentine's Day. I love you and if I had your address I'd send a card. Maybe that would be weird. Maybe not, who knows?
Anyway, I've been neglecting you and I feel bad. But I won't be neglecting you any longer, no Siree. I'm going to be popping up on here on the regular (my teenager told me to say that) with live performances, previously unseen or lost footage, or maybe I'll just talk at you for a laugh.
A few years ago I made an album called 'Fires' that quite a few of you liked, but you never had a version of it on vinyl, and you never got to hear demoes and stuff like that and that made me sad and maybe that made you sad too, and so given that there is enough already in the world to be sad about, I thought I'd wave my magic wand and spread a little happiness. Happiness in vinyl - and other special product - form and it will be available in Spring 2024. Which is, like, only a few weeks away. Exciting times!
As well as making you happy through the medium of capitalism, I can make you happy through the medium of live music. If you live in or near London - or even if you don't, London's a cool city, perfect for a mini-break - I will be playing a special 'Fires' show on April 13th 2024 at The London Palladium. I'll have a band. I'll have a string section. I'll do a costume change. It will be a night to remember, hopefully for all the right reasons. Fires was a really important album for me back in the day, I guess in my early post-adolescence, when I was still figuring out my musical tastes and discovering new stuff that I'd listen to on repeat and would still regularly earworm me decades later. Wild to think that Wolfgang's a teenager now. Anyway, looking forward to whatever's coming up!
The first time I ever heard your music was when you did a radio interview around the time of Everybody's gone to war. I was working a late shift somewhere as a chef and the radio was on and I heard you played an acoustic version and I thought wow I know the song I love it but this is fresh and new and played live in one take. I personally would love to see you play some acoustic versions of your songs (and favourite covers). Fires was the album that got me hooked and I love it!

Ooooh Solfest! What a laugh that festival was. Was that when I did the ELton John medley with my band? Oh my we had so much fun, it didn't matter that the weather was rubbish.
@@nerinapallottv- Yes! I was a Steward Team leader and official cameraman for that event in 2009. If you type your name and Solfest into youtube, you should find at least 3 clips I recorded of you for the (official, but not anymore) Solfest Videos channel. :) Not sure I'd even heard of you before then, but got into your early albums just because of that one performance. It was a magic day. Kept up with your youtube sessions for years afterwards. I only ever listen to two bands; Duran Duran and Bananarama these days, but your groovy glam style appealed to me. I think those happy days of fun songs are difficult to recreate in today's climate, and it's harder than ever to stand out and sell records, so touring is where the money is at, the festies. All the more reason to dress in the flares and sock it to 'em. I'm probably moving to Keswick before next year, out in the sticks, so probably wont get to see you live again. Acts who tour Cumbria are zero unless you include Workington and Carlisle. So thanks for making the effort. Dan.

There was a home spun video years ago that was brilliant but disappeared, I think it was Real late Starter and NP had a four split screen and was playing bass (seem to remember it looked like a hofner beatle bass?) drums, in a rabbit suit etc. It was brilliant, but can't find it. Or was it all a fever dream?

That's great. Why not do Patreon like the NP influenced Mary Spender? Also a live track listening party where people submit songs and the group gives feedback might work. It takes a bit of setting up on Zoom or teams etc. but there is not a lot of additional prep because the main work is done by those from your group who wish to take part and the feedback is from all participants.
