I actually knew her because of Steven Universe, but what made me stay is her music, just, wow. They picked the right VA for Blue Diamond, and she is very talented and amazing.
It's so good to hear her talk about Sigur Rós, Radiohead and Nina Simone, some of my favourite artists as well. Only increases my admiration towards her.
It's amazing that she's a Sigur Rós fan. She reminds me a lot of Jónsi. I'm here 'cause of Steven Universe, but now I want to listen to her music, too. I can't wait for a Blue Diamond song!
Der Menschheit Helfen And of Radiohead as well. Am I weird (or just terribly wishful) if I am imagining a collaboration between her and Sigur Ros right now?
I LOVE her voice its angelic ... i was watching SONG OF THE SEA .. and immediately recognized blue diamond from STEVEN UNIVERSE, and that led to another good movie she is in THE PROPHET
Buckblacket its a Steven Universe Reference. She voices one of the Diamonds on Steven Universe. Blue Diamond. She’s essentially a ruler. Yellow Diamond is one of her Fellow Diamonds, and Blue Pearl is her Servant, cause Pearls are servants.
Lisa, you were right in acknowledging that it's good to give people hope, and you seemed to admire Obama for that in 2012. Here we are now, over four years later and most of us have come to realize that the hope he offered was just so much bullshit. Our country has never been so divided - and it breaks my heart.
It seems that everyone in the US wants to identify as a member of a particular subset, and they like to wallow in the perceived victimization of that group. Whether it be women, African Americans, Latinos, Native Americans, illegal immigrants, gays, lesbians, transgender, etc., etc. -- the individual's embrace of that identity just seems to forsake the reality that we're all just human. Once the individual defines him/herself as a member of that specific group they fail to see the struggles of others. Then they feel entitled to some form of compensation, whether it be monetary, or legislative or some special consideration and accommodation. I have seen that Mr. Obama has made many statements reflecting HIS perception of incidents, taking a particular side in a dispute, and we suddenly have another oppressed group. I just wish that he been President for everyone, and not to just pick and choose. As a result of his choices, we have become more divided because so many people foolishly accept his word as gospel. I assume that your question was serious, so I reply seriously, respectfully.
That's the limits of hope: no-one, no president, leader, or even saviour, can change everything for the better as long as there are so many people behaving in an ignorant and selfish way. Obama too had his shortcomings - and there were so many people actively working against him from the start. Still, we need to hope and do what we can, and cross our fingers that Trump and co. don't do too much damage. It breaks my heart too that we humans are generally so flawed - but there is a lot of good going on too :) Good luck too you.
Maybe nations are "subsets" of humanity too. Isn't the "us vs. them" attitude just as transient as those you mention, and doesn't it help to promote disharmony and conflict globally? We are just human, but people have different feelings about who they are, and if they get bullied by another, larger, more powerful subset, they will tend to group together and shout about the unfairness. The victimisation is mostly real, not just perceived. Shouldn't we be looking more at those individuals from the more privileged parts of society, and asking why THEY, more than the subsets you mention, are "failing to see the struggles of others"? Of course, those you mention can be just as shrill, egoistical, selfish, and prejudiced as anyone else, but that's a given; just a weakness to which anyone can be subject. We luckier ones need to walk a mile in others' shoes before we dismiss their grievances as trivial or imagined.
If she didn't latch onto Damien Rice early on know one would even know her name. She has a beautiful voice but so do many women. She is NOT an accomplished songwriter just good at covers of others music. Just the facts.
Well... she won Best Debut Album, Best Irish Album, Best Irish Track and Best Female in 2009. She has been nominated for at least 5 other awards.. and has published 3 own albums as a songwriter...with some very good songs on them... so even if her music is not your taste, I don't think it's accurate to say she's just good at covers of others..
If it was 5 months ago, that would’ve been my reason for watching this. But since then, I’ve grown to love her music and I see her as so much more than just the voice of Blue Diamond. Same with Aimee Mann (the voice of Opal). SU has really opened my eyes and ears to some amazing music.
Oh okay, at first I thought you meant it was some weird internet term since for some reason some people like to call their favorite female celebrity their "goddess" or "hope diamond". I sometimes watch SU since I was introduced to it by one of younger cousins a few years ago. (I hope Lisa Hannigan gets a song in the show.)
Her voice is so beautiful. I could listen to her talk for hours.

How was that? I live in México and from here is hard to know that kind of things

Speak for yourself. President Obama will go down in history as a great President.
That's the limits of hope: no-one, no president, leader, or even saviour, can change everything for the better as long as there are so many people behaving in an ignorant and selfish way. Just an opinion, not "the facts." You have no idea what would have happened to her. She could be more famous for many reasons.

By a blue diamond do you mean the Hope Diamond? (since the hope diamond is a blue diamond.)
No she is the voice actress of Blue Diamond. A character from the show Steven Universe
