The entire format in general.
I just don't see how all of this anger is coming from one graphic that was posted on social media. There is zero information about this, and what has been shown, Saff doesn't own any rights to...
Saff is angry. We get that. Justified anger? Unproven. We know NOTHING other than 1 graphic was posted. 'He' knows NOTHING other than 1 graphic was posted. The entire thing is pure speculation, and he needs to adult up and wait for more information before video ranting and half-accusing people of theft.

Just because someone gives out awards doesn't mean that another person or group cant do the same! Saff is a turd. He has shown his colors. He doesn't believe in basic human values like free speech... pursuit of happiness... ect ect. His value systems are low and dehumanizing... which then seeks to drag other people around down too. He wants to be a victim... the world owes him something... he needs to grow up big time! I don't think this is only limited to RSL. We have to learn that when we leave something for any reason, we come to peace with it and grow out of it. Not to mention names, but there was another cc who did something similar with HH long after they left RSL I certainly hope this is the last time. We all have criticized plarium for many things in the game, but we can not ignore the fact that RSL has one of the best game communities ever, we should keep it that way...

Couldn't agree with your take anymore, SaffronMan did an incredible job with the Raid Awards when he ran it and don't want to take anything away from the positive things he did for the community, but he moved on, we moved on and that's pretty much the end of it. I think the craziest thing so far is one image has come out and created this apocalyptic reaction, like how did we get to all the things he's accusing Nubs of from one picture and a 2 year or whatever it was old chat? Like I'm sure they're going to Plarium the hell out of it so I get being upset at something you're known for is turning into whatever it's going to turn into but that video takes it waaaaaaaaay to far.

The video by Saffron made me cringe several times. I hope his mental health is not seriously under fire. This looked like paranoia and delusion X1000. He's making an accusation that can not be proved. It's okay to be frustrated with plarium, but calling out another CC is a stretch when you don't have all the facts. No hate from me at all, just my personal thoughts and i'm concerned about his mental health.
I think this was, as you said, a gut reaction rather than a considered one. I do think it was an emotional response to something that, in all fairness, he should have had a heads up from both Paylarium and especially Nubbs that this was going to happen out of "professional courtesy" for all the hard work and effort he had put into the original idea, which was his, in doing a "Raid Community Award" show. I think if that had happened, we wouldn't be seeing this drama by Saffron who is a decent guy generally. No one "owns" award show ideas, but it's general practice to acknowledge those who came before you.

Note: He showed that he blocked Nubs side of the conversation, he was showing the post he shared about the awards show he was planning before he stopped due to backlash (you were around in the day, do you remember all the grief he got because only Ash and HH were getting huge numbers of votes). So to be fair, he doesn't show Nubs words. I agree overall with sharing text and messaging with others. Assume you are on blast when sending those.

I've watched Saffron's video, JGigs' reaction to his video, and now this one. In the end I think you're correct. Saffron was UNHINGED in that video. I think he should have made it, got his icky feelings out of his system, and then immedately DELETED the video. Thanks for sharing your take. Now here's a Neo emoji to make everyone feel better.

I think Saffron doesn't have much of a leg to stand on since he stopped being a Raid CC years ago. It's a bit conceited of him to say now that no one else is ever allowed to do anything he used to do when he was making content for the game. Hey it's not like an awards show was something novel, face it he just ripped it off from the outside world and remade it for the Raid "community". It would be different if he were still making content for Raid and got snubbed on it, but he doesn't. The game isn't beholden to him forever on this. Also current Raid CC's taking up his "cause" seem to be doing so because their audience leans heavily towards those who are mainly bitter at Plarium. Edit - Just went to check out the video again and it has been "removed by the uploader" 😂
I've played Raid since 2020. Since getting into it, I feel like I've always watched Ash, HH, and a few other content creator videos. Think I've heard the name Saffron before, but never seen any of his videos. As Chosen said, this guy had left the community for what, 2 years? The world continues to rotate without him playing Raid. The community keeps growing/changing. Award shows happen. Saffron did not invent them. All Saffron's video does is put himself in a very negative light.
I dont know Nubs personally, but from the impression he gives in his videos, i highly doubt he would step on someones toes intentionally. And if Saffron consider it "stealing" to host an award show, someone should have made a video to him when he hosted his show, because award shows has been done thousands of times

I wonder what is going on in Saffron's life that he completely loses his marbles over this. It seems to be such an extreme, hyper emotional rant and I think he may feel differently in a couple of days and regret his behaviour. His words have held more resonance if he had been calm and considered in his video, explaining why he felt let down and disappointed. Probably would have got a lot more sympathy too. As it is, everyone is taking a step back from Saffron.

Raid is not doing anything wrong. From the other part Saffron was only making an event for few creators. Community of Raid is big and everyone should be include. I’m with Raid 5 years this year and Saffron never ever invited me for anything
Award shows are not a unique thing...he can be mad all he wants, but the concept of an awards show is not uniquely his, he took that idea from somewhere else, himself
Private conversations are meant to be PRIVATE, you as a person have zero right to post, share, etc a PM. Especially when you don't even bother blanking out the names....Safferon can be mad over the host crap but sharing a PM like that is very shitty.

Did he go & copyright protect his award show & it's name/branding, format, graphics, etc...? If not, he's got no leg to stand on. You put any idea/concept out in the public sphere, it becomes public domain. If you're not a paid employee, then no company, let alone a wider community owes you a damn thing, especially after you've made the personal choice to leave said company/community for years now.
Seems like SaffronMan is being a bit petty and whiny. Saffron should go & hang out with Stew in the little kiddie sandbox he lives in.

You know Soda Dragon? Soda did massive work on the Iron Twins comps early on, then had to step away because of his new house and child. I've never seen him go off the deep end like this.
Generally people get bitter and drama generating like this when they are headed downhill towards irrelevance.
I mean, he should take it as a compliment. He had a good idea and walked away from it. Then someone else thought his original idea was a good one ànd decided to start it back up again. It'd be like Ricky Gervais getting pissed at Chris Rock. Im not familiar with any of it, but listening to this makes the whole thing sound petty.
Also, if Nubs wanted to out-petty that dude, he could lawyer up. I dont know what was said, but going after someone publicly and sharing private conversations WITH the intention of causing harm to someone else's current and future means of potential income is absolutely slanderous and the guy could be sued and probably even banned from making any content on UA-cam. Goinf after someone publicly is the worst way to do it. It opens up way to many negative possibilities. Not to mention: Nobody else really cares. Its a bad look.

This is about as baseless of a claim as when "messed up origins" posted something about how somebody is copycatting his channel and stealing all of his ideas because they used a thumbnail that was really close to his, even though he stole the original thumbnail from Disney by putting a picture of Aladdin on his channel for views and said that the person basically said the same thing he did. Well, you're covering history so if you told the truth anyone else that decides to cover that history as well should have the same facts. You don't own history once you decide to cover it.
But he made it very clear that he was going to use his UA-cam connections to bully the person and get them shut down. Which stinks cuz they did enjoy his videos from time to time but I won't support someone that can't share the space
Would Plarium still do an award show today if it wasn’t for Saff? If answered no, (more than likely) then recognition should be given to the guy. Without recognition, it comes off as greed from both Nubs and Plarium. Taking all the credit for themselves.
If Saff never existed in the world of raid, who knows if plarium would ever have the concept of an award show. I know most of the mobile games I’ve played never had anything like that. Therefore that alone deserves some type of shoutout. It’s such a simple thing to do.

For film awards there are the Oscar's, SAG, Golden Globes, and many more. . This world is big enough for 2 Raid Awards. No one holds a copyright on the award show concept. Saffron dropped the ball and Nub picked it up. Saffron can host his show as well but I won't be watching - in his video he sounded like a bitter old man doing his version of "HEY YOU KIDS GET OFF MY LAWN!!!"
I appreciated what he did in the award show 2 years ago but yeah this is unhinged crazy behavior. He's completely in the wrong and I lost any and all respect for him. Dude needs to mellow out and just leave the community again if he's so upset. If I were Nub I'd neither respond or acknowledge this crazy video. Don't give him the satisfaction of more attention or views.

I used to watch Saffron's videos back in the day and loved his award shows he did. But he hasn't uploaded a video on his channel in a year and then decides to make this one. I think he stepped out of line (much like Stewgaming). He def needs to apologize and stay out of it like he has over the past couple years. So yes, I agree with you. Kapp up the great vids.

I would understand if he created the event or they were disrespectful in anyway but it was done in fun and betterment of the community so possibly take a few days to chill and think about it and apologize

I don't get it. Nubs is such a vibe though, he puts out positivity. I can't say I remember Saffron man and I don't really feel like watching his video. I remember starting in Raid back in 2019, it was you, HellHades before he showed his face on cam, DM, DWJ, IncredibleJohn, BGE, and Stew. But for the life of me, I probably wasn't too involved then, if I cant recall Saff. Hennyways, idk him or anything, so I can't speak on his content or his character, but if this is my first impression of him, it's not a good look. Why come back to the community to swing at one of the biggest dudes in the community? Why come back swinging at all?

lol its literally a record of account so recording without permission is spot on, and agree there, and I feel like I can see where saffron was coming from. the saddest part minimal effort and a little awareness from the biggest player in the room ( plarium ) could and should have headed off. I got a GED in prison when I was about 30 so im not smart buuuut.....
if I had a billion dollar customer base worried I only care about their money my plan would have been inviting the guy as a secret guest and letting him give away a super nice promo code, if not paid to come host the show with a young up and comer seems like a no lose idea
I started when the game began, I dont even remember saffronman.
It's a cool and nice thing that Saffron put together an award show to reward the content creators and acknowledge their work with a goal to bring the community together.. But the thing with awards formated like this is that eventually they turn into popularity contest and you can't take them serious. Like in football for example, players get Ballon D'or often by their popularity and not the actual numbers. so you can't have a win-win situation whatever you do because of human nature, egos etc.. If Plarium wants to have a stab at it they have right to, it's their IP after all and ideas have values as much they let them have values. They do it for the money and not for the passion and love for the community.
I've never heard of Saffronman. He can be frustrated at Plarium as long as he likes but that doesn't mean that you should upload a video making death threats to another youtuber. Since he moved on we all have to move on. I think Jgigs is defending Saffron and encouraging him and adding fuel to the fire.

Viral trends happen on the Internet literally on a daily basis though. That's the nature of content creation. Once you make something it's public domain as long as they use some form of creative license in their own right it's not stealing.
