    Greetings, everyone!
Charles here from Liquid Blue Cabarete, and I'm back with a quick on land review sharing my opinion on the brand new Swing V4 by F-ONE. This review was made preliminary from what I saw and felt on land before putting it through its paces which is to come in future videos.
Note: We released a Strike V4 review as well comparison video of both Swing V4 and Strike V4 for those curious of which wing is right for you. Make sure to check those videos out on our channel.
The SwingV4 out of all the previous releases is the most interesting not only because all the tweaks they have made throughout the years though the new handle system being implemented. All these features combined is undeniably keeping the F-ONE wing line up as one of the best wings out there and with good reason. The built quality is solid and this years updates justifies upgrading to the V4 and or future models after this.
To wrap it up, this wing is the performance everyone knows and loves with the option to customize it with the handle preference one wants. Whether you're a beginner, a weekend warrior, a high-performance wave shredder, or a freestyle wizard, whether you're a casual enthusiast or a pro on the tour, this wing will blow your socks off with its outstanding performance.

When you do your on-water test, can you test the low end power needed to get on foil? My V2 2.8m Strike was easier to get on foil than my newer 3.5m V3 Strike. The V3 Strike is too tight and flat. They messed up the Strike design to appease the go fast trend and are now back peddling with the Origin. Now F-One has me confused because they changed the shape of the Strike and have 3 very similar wings that all look the same. Strike, Swing or Origin?

First off I know what you mean with what seems like less power from the v2 to the v3. The reality is that now on the v4 I do feel that I generate either the same or more power than previous wings. Currently I have been using the strike over the swing as it feels a bit more powerful overall.
The origin I have yet to test and might have too in the future just to have a more complete hands on experience of the entire line up.
I do have the “luxury” of having multiple wings so I can adjust to the wind… if 12 -18 I’ll be on 5 and if 16-18+ I will be on 4.5 and then the 20-22+ I would go on 4 depending. This is all in knots.
Few factors to consider I ride primarily a 44L board, weight 77kg dry so maybe 80kg wet… Use an 850 SK8 on 80 mast 14mm and ride in salt water which gives a bit more bouncy… also when pumping I can use wing and feet to generate power to get going.
The best is to try before you buy though so far the strike seems more powerful than swing in same size… when getting going, once on foil feels similar. Origin not sure so cannot comment with accuracy.
The on the water test videos are up both strike and swing back to back first session in what I felt was lower end for me on 4.5 though both worked and got riding.
      Warm and Windy Regards,
      CO

Unfortunately demos are a fairy tale, which is why we need to watch unbiased testers like yourself. Would be great if the manufacturers gave the dealers a set of demo wings but that won't happen. Dealers aren't going to unload a new wing for demo and if they did, I'd need a day with wind and the right size wing. Ideally testing both models back to back.

The best solution we have found is “rent before you buy” and rental fee goes towards purchase. It is not 100% free though helps in a way. It would be great to maybe have 1 of most common size wings available for pure free demo though…. There is still some labor/follow up behind and if things break that’s when it gets trickier… no ideal solution though rent before you buy and fee goes toward purchase usually resonates well with informed riders in any sport who know they want to upgrade or test gear.

I'd have no problem paying for a rental but it's not an option. Who offers rental on new model wings before you buy? Not even on Maui. I've seen this offered on older rental gear but not new models. My local dealer here in Canada is kind enough to provide a credit if you buy new gear and aren't satisfied. The largest dealer in Canada. Word out to Bruce and Rob at Silent Sports. Best dealer in Canada.

@@aquaman1 we always have most common size in new open as we are also a school and use equipment for teaching/rentals/coaching so we offer that in Cabarete though we are understanding of the dynamic and challenges behind getting into the sport and or upgrading within the sport! Let see, maybe some evolution in time.

As a smaller rider...5'8 148 lbs do you think a 4.5m Swing has enough low end pick up for lighter winds 15 mph ? or would 5m be safer bet. If I knew the 4.5m Strike had low end then I would go that route but it seems to be for more powered up starts and riding.

One factor to consider is board volume? Are you riding a sinker or? Also your foil... If you are using smaller foil and smaller board a larger wing will help compensate for that.... "All small" only works in strong steady winds generally. If you are on a regular volume board that you can stand and float above that water and have a foil thats around 1000-1500 you should be fine with 4.5... I have been using 4.5 in 17mph and I ride a 44L board + 850 SK8 + weight 180lbs wet most likely... (need to go down in weight)... Also Strike is more powerful than the Swing in my opinion...

@@lbcabarete Thanks for the prompt response! Yes I am on a neutral vol. board, so able to stand when it's moving slowly forward and a rather large mid aspect wing. Interesting you are the 2nd person to remark that the Strike has more power in the low end. I would prefer the smaller 4.5m as a shorty 😂

Get the 4.5 unless your wind is trending towards lower you should be fine. Play with using your leg power as well and position of foil.
