The adding of fish cribs in our area (Bass L., Cedar L, Big Round L. etc.) has helped greatly with the Crappie and Sunnies. 10 to 11" fish are great table fare. I've been working the 'Croix and Missi, with the water being back where it should be things are going well. Another nice video. PS, you might mention that not all states allow 2 hooks that far apart.
Wisconsin you can fish three lines. Rules are so up for interpretation with hook distance counting as one or two lines you will never get it right so no use in even trying. Wisconsin has some of the strictest line rules outside Ontario and Mudd duck land. In the south the only rule is no dynamite.
@@reidsimonson Can't argue that we have some goofy rules but many are related to the Indian Treaties. I do wish we had a dynamite rule, that would make things easier. Mudd duck land...haha, I fully agree.
U should try Bobby garland baby shad (double silver rainbow color) or Bobby garland baby shad (key lime pie color) these two colors slay crappies and on that double rig set up u will put a hurtin on the crappies 🎣
Make the loop knot for the top jig and a Palomar knot on the bottom. That way the bottom jig can be set to be "level" with the jig above hanging loosely for more action when you "jig" the lures. I've had the best luck at doubles with this rig.
Great show buddy. Gonna try the double jig rig today. Man with these cooler nites the water is cooling down and the fish are starting to feel good. Cant wait till fall. Tight lines my friend.
I’ve been catching 15 16 inch crappie pretty regularly here in lacrosse wi... come fish down here with me for a day. I have been getting my limit quite frequently
I know this video’s quote old, but I got a question. I’m a new angler so this kight be a stupid question. Could you possibly add a bobber to this setup? If so how far up above the higher jig should I put it?
Quick release refers the fish falling off the hook before I can get it in the boat. I was using 10lb braid and 1/16oz. Jigs. I have a list of my setup in the video description
The setup is listed in the video description, but i'm using 7'6" ACC Crappie Stix (probably should have used a 10,11, or 12ft), 10lb braid, 2000 size spinning reel.
Two Questions...why the loops and not just simple fishing knots? Second is do you generally use this heavy of line or is it simple for the sake of visibility in this video. Thanks
The loop knots tend to give the jigs more actions when vertically jigging. I started using heavier braid, or atleast heavier for crappie, after fishing in some southern states. In wisconsin, the heaviest braid I use for crappie in 10lb, but if i travel to TX, IL, OK, MO I will use up to 20lb braid when vertically jigging. If the water is very clear and I may down size to smaller diameter line or use flouro or mono line.
I have used the improved clinch knot before (actually in some other video with this double jig setup), I just prefer two loop knots. You could tie the rig either way and it would work. Some people argue that two loop knots allows more freedom for the jig to move like a bait fish.
Thanks for sharing .I'm a Canadian Crappie fishing man who gets lots of them. You are good for showing the double rig.
Love to see em drop into the well. Catch and release into some corn meal. First one was nice.
I went fishing for crappie, ended up catching a large mouth bass, dinner was good. Anyhow, thankx for the double jig system
Hey you caught dinner, so it was a good day on the water. Thanks for watching!
I like the Rig and I hook on one today with a crappie rig 🐟🎣👍
One of my Grandfather favorite fish 🐟 to catch and eat 😂👍🐟🎣🌊
Caught some doubles today! Been fishing less than a month! Im so hyped 🙏🏻
Good to hear!
Keep crappie fishing!!!! Cool tips.
Great video. Always fun to catch doubles. Ready to go out again after watching this.
Thanks for showing me how to tie the double. I will try that on my neat trip.
Another great show, Kentucky
I’m really enjoying you content. Glad you were on Panfish Weekly last night. Great video.
Thanks for the info. I'm going to try your double set up with a rocket bobber. 🚀
Great crappie video, I was going to ask about line but noticed that that question was already addressed.

Enjoying your knot tying demo and putting the rigs to work. You got a couple of nice ones. Thanks for the effort you put into your videos.
Thanks for watching!
Wow....nice color on those jigs!

I will forever save this video☺️ excellent technique good info 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Great content, I'm definitely going to have to try the double when I vertical Jig Again...

I don't agree I always use loop knots then you don't have to keep leveling your jig after you catch a fish
Good advise, thanks brother
Started using this knot for my top jig, thanks for the tip!
You bet!
Great video ! Love it!
Thanks for the video!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gives us inspiration in late summer in IN.
You're welcome, good luck on the water!

Thanks! Good luck on the water!
Great show brother 👍👍
Gonna try that set up today
Good Luck! Let me know how it works for you.
I made a video a review on that bait. That is a good bait, done lots of bait reviews on crappie baits,. Two at a time, good show. FLC
Thanks Dennis, and i really like the charlie brewer swimbaits
Davis that is what I was thinking must be where the food is. I there any value in running three hooks.
I have fished with a triple setup before, and you can pull up more fish, but risk more tangles
Great video. Thank you for tips.
No issue or less bites running straight braid?
In clear water I would go with mono or fluorocarbon. You can get away with braid in stained/muddy water.
I’ve been catching 15 16 inch crappie pretty regularly here in lacrosse wi... come fish down here with me for a day. I have been getting my limit quite frequently
Wow! Those are some nice fish. Are you fishing the Mississippi?
Black river and French slough... both are off of the Mississippi
i might have to make a trip there this fall.
Flopping Crappie let me know if you want a tour guide....
@@joshparnow9044 I'm having no luck here, but u also don't have a boat. Only shore fishing.
I been using this rigging works well for me
I know this video’s quote old, but I got a question. I’m a new angler so this kight be a stupid question. Could you possibly add a bobber to this setup? If so how far up above the higher jig should I put it?
You can add a bobber to this setup if you want. As for how far up the line to set the bobber, this would depend on how deep you're fishing
I can’t wait to try this out thanks
You’re welcome 😊
Thank you for broadcast what do you mean when you say quick release? What kind and weight line are you using?
Quick release refers the fish falling off the hook before I can get it in the boat. I was using 10lb braid and 1/16oz. Jigs. I have a list of my setup in the video description
tks
im from northern wisconsin, which lake is this?
Great idea!!!
Thanks bruh !!! Lovin it...
Am I missing somethimg, where’s the live scope ? Good job FC 👍👍👍
He does not want you to think he is relying on that; neither would I. I pull crankbaits without it, but use it all other times.
What state and lakes are you fishing
This was filmed in Wisconsin.
What reel , line and rod are you using, thanks
The setup is listed in the video description, but i'm using 7'6" ACC Crappie Stix (probably should have used a 10,11, or 12ft), 10lb braid, 2000 size spinning reel.
Can I use that on fluorocarbon line
Yes, fluorocarbon will work
Two Questions...why the loops and not just simple fishing knots? Second is do you generally use this heavy of line or is it simple for the sake of visibility in this video. Thanks

Good video buddy. What depth and water temp are you fishing in this video
if i remember right, i was fishing in about 15-20ft on brush. Water was most likley in the 60s
Can I use this for minnows if I but hooks on instead?
Yes, but you made need to add a weight between the two hooks if using Aberdeen hooks
Could double jig rig with bobber work?
Spring pencil bobber
Yes, I'm not sure if I've filmed a video on it though
What length rod are you using
7'6" ACC Crappie Stix
Do you put out all of those piles? I do where I fish, just because the lakes are so big.
No, these were put out by the lake association.
I send you out some Pete's Tackle Slab Grabbers soon.
Thanks Pete!
Hey man, awesome video! Glad to see you back at it. Are you anchored or just using your trolling motor to hold over the brush.
I'm anchored up. Good to be back.
Any chance you know what anchor you use. I fish on a north south lake a lot and the wind can be crippling some time.
@@mcmuffin007 I dont remember the brand. It's a 35lb anchor, seems to do well.
I use a loop knot for the top hook( especially if I have a minnow on top) but why use the loop on the bottom hook vs say an improved clinch knot
I have used the improved clinch knot before (actually in some other video with this double jig setup), I just prefer two loop knots. You could tie the rig either way and it would work. Some people argue that two loop knots allows more freedom for the jig to move like a bait fish.
Question ... will the knot come loose fairly easy when your done ?
No, you will need to cut the knot if you want to switch jigs
Your 10 incher was actually a 7 incher and your12 was a 9
If you'd set the damn hook they wouldn't just fall off
There's a reason they are called paper mouths.
