  • You don’t need a green thumb to make this indoor hanging her garden. Landscape designer Sara Bendrick shows easy-to-follow steps for creating an indoor herb garden that the whole family can enjoy.
Start with a hanging fruit basket and install it in a sunny spot in your home. Next, Add coconut coir fibers to the baskets, which will help to keep the soil and plant roots in place while allowing water to drain through. Follow Sara’s tips about which herbs to use in a hanging planter; like mint, cilantro, and basil. Place a bowl or dish below the hanging baskets to catch any water that drains through. Remember, these herbs will continue to grow, so don’t over crowd the baskets when you initially plant them. Cut herbs as you need them for food or drink recipes.
