Hi Nettie! I am watching your video. I love hearing you talk about February and Valentine’s Day. It has always been my favourite month because my Birthday is in February too! Mine is February 21 exactly one week after Valentines. My Mom would often get me a heart shaped cake and as a child I remember my Dad giving us little heart shaped containers of cinnamon hearts. On Valentines Day. Such a nice memory now that my Dad is gone. ☺️ Those pink shoes are very pretty. I have not seen those before. Thank you for the tips on how to keep track of the outfits. I am new to Our Generation so I can start off organized! I did have a special adult lady in my life who was a strong role model for me and I loved her dearly. Maybe I will share the story some time. ❤ Emmy is so pretty in that dress. I love Lisandra’s striking eyes and freckles. 🥰
I to had a women in my life who was my role model to me. She is no longer here and I always called her my toy mom. She is my angel and what you said about having a role model made me think about her.
@@CherishedDollFriends thanks Cheryl. Wasn’t it so special to get those little Valentine hearts? I’m glad you have fond memories too. I like the idea of making a heart-shaped cake. That could be fun to do for our dolls! I would love to hear the story of the special lady who was a role model, if you choose to share that on your channel. So glad you love Lisandra’s eyes and freckles! ❤️❤️❤️
@@Catoftheogdollcollectors sorry she’s no longer with you. I hope this video made you happy to think of her. 🥰
What a fun video! Gosh you have such a good memory! I can’t remember too much about elementary, let alone people’s names. My family and I were always moving. I’m sorry for what that kid did to you. That’s really horrible. I’m glad that you are okay now and hope he did turn out a good person. Goodness.. I liked hearing about Biff 🥹. What a cute memory about the igloo. My first dog was a boston terrier named Miley.I got her in my 20s. She was a smart dog, I loved her so much. She lived for 7 years. I have another boston now, who’s as goofy as can be 😆. Love her though. Emmie is adorable! She has the Rosalia face mold. 😃 And Lisandra looks absolutely fabulous in that outfit! I will look into that Etsy seller. Thank you for this video !
You’re welcome! My parents had another Boston Terrier when I was older. They are really funny little dogs. They can snore!
And thanks for confirming it’s the Rosalie face. She is really cute. I’m happy to have her in my doll family.
Love the pink dress on her, she looks like a princess!❤❤❤
Thank you! She does look like a princess.
I enjoyed your video! It brought back lots of Valentine’s Day memories from childhood. I had a special 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Mowen, in Algonquin, IL. I attribute my love of history to her. Every day after recess, she would turn the lights off to settle us down and then read the Little House on the Prairie books to us. I loved learning about the pioneers, and I am a huge history buff today.
Thank you!
Mrs. Mowen sounds like she was a wonderful teacher!
I love the Little House series so much!
Pretty dolly💕
@@taylorsdollhouse thank you!
I was so excited to see a video up. When you start making money off your videos you could get a mirrorless camera and different lenses with wide angles to shoot you and your dolls.. My husband's hobby is photography (night sky). I would sub to you when you can start advertising or buy a hoodie. LOL my cat is like yours she loves the plastic off my dolls packaging. Oh and I just got Shyanne OG and opened her up last night. She came with tattoos. One more thing OG dolls are delivered in a brown hard box then the regular pink box inside. OG UK packing maybe.
@@Catoftheogdollcollectors my dolls get delivered in Target packaging. The playsets come in the OG packaging which is sturdy.
Hi Nettie. Unfortunately, boys in grade school often didn't know what to do with their feelings, so they expressed them in mean ways! I had rocks thrown at me!😮 Recently, to add to my AG collection, I got my first ML doll and a very tlc OG doll. Honestly, I believe, I like the OG best! She has such I sweet face and came out really cute after a spa day. I have no idea who she is, of course (no packaging) but, she has dark hair and brown eyes. The OG expressions and face molds are easy to warm up to! I'm beginning to realize (though I am tidy) I need to find some kind of system that makes my 18" doll clothes easier to locate! Organizing seems never ending with doll collecting, but especially when you are aquiring faster than you can find a place for your purchases!😂 Well, as Shelley says, love your live, love yourself, and love your dolls!😘
@@paulettepalmer4860 so true! I know boys used to throw earthworms at us girls but they stopped when I would pick up the worms and put them back in the grass. They didn’t know I liked bugs and worms as a kid, lol. I’m so glad you brought that TLC OG doll back to life. Are you on FB or Instagram? If you need help IDing a doll, the Our Generation Dolls - Share & Chat FB page has some collectors who really know these dolls. Yes! Love your dolls. Love yourself and love your life. 😘
Yes
Wow that story about the boy sitting on you. I had to comment again. I’m so sorry that happened to you. That must have been so frightening! What a silly thing for that teacher to say. How traumatic for you. I had a similar incident where I was stalked by two boys in grade 5 and 6. I was a latch key kid because my Mom worked and I lived right around the corner from the school. These two boys used to follow me home and call to me to come outside. I was terrified. One time in grade 6 after we had moved a little further away from school one of them followed me alone. As he got closer I got more afraid. Suddenly he came up behind me, got me in a neck hold and wrestled me to the ground. He kissed me and then got up and ran away. I was so upset and humiliated. To be honest I have had fear issues ever since around males. It’s sad to say it. Anyway other things happened around that time that added to my fearfulness that I won’t share. Too bad you don’t live closer. We have a lot of similar stories! We could have a great sleepover, playing dolls and telling stories! 😊
LOL a sleepover would be a blast!
@@CherishedDollFriends it was very frightening. I’m so very sorry you had those awful experiences. How awful. It does scar us. It’s hard to trust. I am grateful you shared your story and I understand we cannot be too open. I cannot share too much either.
With a very few exceptions, my past experiences with men were not good. I can, however, say that it’s been on an uptick, and I now have good friendships with men. A sleepover with our dolls would be so much fun!
I came to this video for the dolls but I stayed for Nettie. Hugs to you mate
@@Divadoll9000 omg what an incredibly kind and loving thing to say. 🥰🌸💜
Hugs right back! 🤗
@nettiezdolls6742 you're my angel Nettie. See you in your next video 💕
I really want to get Emmie. She is so cute. I have that same outfit. I bought it when it came out last year, but I never have used it. I love Lissandra.
Emmie is really very cute and her eyes are unique. I think Target still has the “buy one, get 50% off” on a few of their OG dolls.
I remember watching your video on Lisandra! You’re the reason I got her. 🥰🌸
@@nettiezdolls6742 I saw that Target has the dolls on sale. It is so hard wanting to buy some, but I really am cutting back. I filled my cart with how many that I want and it was about $300! I just can't do that. I would love to just get 2 before the sale is over, but I haven't ordered yet.
I am glad that you see how pretty Lisandra is and have her! The socks on her are so cute!
My special teacher in elementary school was Mrs Oliver. I also liked my third grade teacher who was Mrs Dumont. Then when I got to middle school definitely Mrs Brennan... She was my English teacher and one of the first ones to make me feel like I was smart or worthwhile. In high school it was definitely Miss Silk She was the next teacher that made me feel smart and that I could grow up to be somebody she was my English teacher. She would read to us because she knew so many of us didn't get that as a child and she knew even high schoolers needed that. I think that's why i still enjoy audio books so much that and I'm dyslexic. I also had a history teacher Mrs Menasian who made history come alive. I really enjoyed her class.
I also had learning disabilities and was in special education classes. I also had trouble speaking as a child and would be constantly asked to repeat things sometimes just because they wanted to hear my lisp again and sometimes because they couldn't understand me at all. Only my mom could understand me until about third grade. Since I became an adult I found out as a child I had been diagnosed with ADHD and autism but they didn't tell my mother. It was in my Ed plan but we didn't know we had the right to be part of those meetings and learn about what was different about my brain.
I knew I was different because I could never fit in with other kids. It felt like they had a playbook that I wasn't given. Like there was all these rules that everybody else seemed to understand but I never could get it right. I was always making some social mistake that everyone else seemed to understand that i didn't. Those few teachers really made a difference though. I wish I had more of them 13 years is too many to only have three teachers that actually treated me like I was worthwhile and like I could be somebody.
I became disabled pretty young so I was sort of felt like I failed those teachers... I definitely feel differently now but I definitely wouldn't want to bump into them either. Thanks for telling us about that special teacher you had❤
@@AGMaples I’m so glad you had teachers that were there for you.
Oh the power of teachers. They can really make us believe in ourselves or make us doubt ourselves.
I had a gym teacher who was mean and called me a weirdo. It hurt so terribly. I wasn’t popular but had one best friend. The others were friends from sports I played.
I had to work very hard at school, and my grades improved. I always felt like an outsider looking in.
Last year I was diagnosed with autism. My world turned upside down. Can you imagine how it felt to learn this at age 64? It was a relief actually. I really wish I had known earlier but autism when I was a child was thought to only be possible in males, and for a long time, only white males.
Thank you so much for sharing.
My family and I were immigrants, and I always felt left out and confused. I didn’t know English so I always felt out of the loop. I had to ask teachers a lot of questions. Some were more eager to answer than others. Eventually after learning English, children used to ask me to repeat things just to hear me talk because I spoke funny. Kids can be so mean.
Now I’m an educator and I look out for those kids who seem left out, different, and in need of a little more love and care. I make sure they feel included, cherished and push them to their full potential. I can relate to them only because I went through it. God equipped me to be the person He needed me to in order to reach out and understand not only those students, but people all around me who feel left out.
Thank you for sharing your story. ❤
@@esli44 God bless you! I love how some people are able to take their challenges in life and turn them around for good! That’s how it should be. The world needs more angels!
@@nettiezdolls6742 Thanks for sharing that with me! I wondered if you were autistic like me. My mom actually I think is autistic just like me too. It would be interesting for her to find out for sure. She probably won't but she does believe she is as well. It's nice to have that kind of relief so you know that you weren't a broken neurotypical but a had neurodivergent brain trying to survive in a world not built for us 🍓 but I think we are building a different world for the younger generations. Hopefully anyways even with everything that's going on there's more of us good people that care than them 🍓
She is pretty and I have our generation doll Audra
Thank you! Audra is such a gorgeous OG doll.
I am sorry the young man was so mean to you in school and the teacher should have know better to say that. When I was in elementary school, I also remember exchanging Valentine cards it was so much fun. This doll is so cute. I like her new outfit. Also don't apologize about not posting. When you have back issues you have to rest. I am glad you are feeling better. You have a great memory. Nice video. 😊
@@OutspokenJourney thank you! Yes I should give myself some grace from time to time. Does your mom watch OG videos? I recall you mentioning she likes the dolls. So many new ones were released about 2 weeks ago. I’m trying not to buy them all! 🤣
That looks like your doll Rosalie cuz I thought about getting one with a similar face mold but in our generation collector might know better than me. I only have one OG doll.
@@AGMaples yes I’m not sure. I’ll ask the FB group. I think they’ll know. There’s some in that group who have been collecting these dolls for over 10 years.
@nettiezdolls6742 oh wow that's a long time. They're pretty dolls. I have one that I got to use her movable body with an AG head. I watched a video where Kristy from AG Takes over did that and I wanted to do the same but fell in love with the doll and couldn't take her head off lol 😂
