This is a fun video to watch! I love that you display OG dolls, too. I also have all 3 brands. I will say that Maplelea is my favourite - their clothes are the best by far, they feel more homely and personal as a company, and the more I look at their dolls the prettier they become to me. I also appreciate the body tag placement - I like that the tags are on the back rather than the side. I will say that AG doll quality is higher and more consistent, though!
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video and for commenting. Maplelea dolls also grew on me. They are much prettier in person. Customer service has been great when I’ve had some questions. I appreciate that they are a small and quality focused company.
Merry Christmas! This video was a cool one. It’s great to see the differences between OG, AG, and Maplelea. I don’t think I’ve ever seen all three brands up close in the same video. Maplelea dolls are not for me, I think, but I love their clothes. Their faces are a little too detailed for me. Your OG doll Mindy is one of the prettiest OGs I have ever seen. Her hair is beautiful! One thing I really enjoy about your videos is that you use handmade outfits and you always try to call out the creators of those fashions. I have just gotten into buying handmade doll clothes, so it’s nice to see some from creators I may not know. I’m glad to hear you had a nice Christmas! Your popover tradition with your grandkids sounds like so much fun.
@@settheworldonfire94 thank you for commenting. I do appreciate it. I am so happy you appreciate me using handmade fashions. I sometimes wonder if other viewers are disappointed not to see more brand-specific clothing. I do try to strike a balance in my collection, but I love handmade fashions and strive to support small businesses. Have a Happy New Year!
Hi Nettie, Merry Christmas. I’m happy to hear you had a nice visit with your family. I did as well! Thank you for talking about the differences between MapleLea, American Girl and Our Generation. I love them all. I am really digging MapleLea right now and I added a new one to my collection today for Christmas. I also made a video of the dolls I got for Christmas but this one was not included because she arrived late. I will do a separate video on my new MapleLea doll. I really love the Hope face mold on the Our Generation doll. I think she is the most beautiful of the three. I love Brianne and hope to add her to my collection too. Enjoy the rest of your holidays! 🎄☃️💕
@@CherishedDollFriends Thank you Cheryl! I watched your Christmas video and loved it! Everything looked so lovely. I’m right there with you, really enjoying the Maplelea dolls. I look forward to your video on your new Maplelea doll. Definitely add Brianne when you can. I have three of her right now (two preloved and one from a baggie sale). Have a Happy New Year!
Nice comparison, and you got a lovely group of dolls today! I have my four years old the OG Clara for Christmas, we went to the ballet earlier this month! OG Finley arrived a couple days ago, she’s still in her box.
Merry Christmas Nettie! This is my first Christmas as an adult collector and my parents gifted me the beautiful AA Pink Stardust Holiday AG doll, I absolutely love her but the better gift was sharing the holiday with my grandmother and showing her my dolls (she gave me my very first porcelain dolls as a little girl and I still have them!) I love the Our Generation dolls so much they’re so very cute, I donated an Addison to a local church! I really hope she found her way under the tree for a sweet little girl or boy!
@@AlanaAwesome100 thank you for sharing! I think getting a doll for Christmas feels so special. That little girl in me loves it, lol. I also have the AA Pink Stardust Holiday AG doll. That is so nice of you to donate Addison to a local church. No doubt someone is loving her right now. Those OG dolls have arms meant for hugging! Enjoy the season and may it bring you peace, love, and joy!
Thanks so much for this video, Nettie! It was super helpful as I'm a newb to OG and Maplelea. And I love hearing your stories while you dressed the dolls. Just a wonderful video. Happy New Year!
@@Catre-m8q OG dolls really do have cute faces! Rooted hair keeps the cost doll so that’s a good thing. It is possible to cut their hair down to the scalp and put a wig on them. They would use the same size as an AG doll. Enjoy your holidays!
Thank you, Nettie, for the helpful tutorial! I only collect AG dolls. I've never handled the other two. Do they also have neck stamps? Seeing the various fashions for other doll lines or seamstress made on AG dolls helps me, too. The OG dolls I've seen on UA-cam have really sweet faces, as well as yours! I like the subtle smiles. How does Mapelea clothing compare with AG in USD? Thanks again!😊

No, we brought little sister along, she’s freshly 2, I had my hands full between the two of them. (:

@@paulettepalmer4860 thanks so much for your comment and great question about neck stamps. That’s something I forgot to mention. Yes both Maplelea and Our Generation dolls have neck stamps. Maplelea dolls distinguish the year and the production run information. For example, a neck stamp may display “2019 - 08” meaning the doll is from 2019 and was from production run 08. For collectors, they might try to collect dolls from a first run production. You would also see a script “CG” logo, TM and ©Avonlea Traditions Inc. OG dolls will have an Our Generation stamp for newer dolls or Battat for older dolls.
Maplelea doll clothing are comparable in price to AG clothing but with the US/CD dollar exchange rate, you’ll get a better deal one-to-one say on accessories and shoes. Overall, I don’t hesitate to buy Maplelea clothing because I think they are superior in quality to that of AG. Vintage AG clothes were phenomenal. I normally only buy modern AG clothes when they go to sale or I have a discount code. Maplelea do place some clothes on sale but they do tend to sell out. Have a Happy New Year!
This was great! Thanks so much 🎉
