I think the point of the early bird incentive is that Kickstarter promotes you more if you get close to or meet/exceed your goal within the first day or so.
I want to kick-start my book. I have a story but I need an illustrator. This is what the funding will be for. I don't have the funds for a REALLY good illustrator and what I don't want to do is skimp on it and the book be a flop. The saying don't judge a book by its cover is NOT true for books. I have no audience. I self publish on KDP. Its exhausting when you know the book is good but if you can't grab a users attention by the cover and the beautiful illustrations on the cover then they aren't going to buy. I only got into this about 6 months ago when I realised all these things were in my head and I needed to get them out. I'm really considering setting g a campaign and I am so glad you said don't rush. I want to make sure when I do launch it that it is successful. Also you sound d fairy local to me lol the accent...
I created a kickstarter campaign and have had a hard time raising funds. People keep sending me messages saying they can help promote my campaign or they know someone that can. I fell for it and felt like I was scammed. I wish I saw this video before.
@@Chaserhien515 No problem it's important to know these things before doing a kickstarter these scammers are relentless and they all say the same thing. They even send you to fiverr to pay for someone's help. I was fooled by one backer who pledged a large sum of money told me about this fiverr seller then I bought the service only for the person to withdraw from the project which means my kidkstarter was unsuccessful.
@@darkblade9745 I’m sorry that happened to you. These people will also even pledge to your kickstarter with a large amount then cancel it when you fall for the scam. They even offer people who are on fiverr. Beware is all I have to say to anyone reading.
Thanks for sharing these tips. I have done one "successful" Kickstarter, I put it in "s because I just barely got funded and then had a few people's funding did not go through so I was a bit below my goal at the end. But luckily I had added a bit to my goal for the "un-for-seen". I have now been trying to figure out how to make my next one more successful and this gives me food for thought :D
Thank you for your video. I am planning down the road once I’m fully engaged with my channel to start a kickstarter. Your sharing of your experience is so valuable. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this video ! I've actually just launched my first kickstarter for washi tapes. I had thought about it for two years but I was too scared of failing ! I finally found the courage to do it ! I made it so the first goal would unlock one tape design and every stretchgoal would unlock a new one. I have a very small audience and I was so happy when the main goal has been reached ! But now I feel like it's not going to move. Someone told me they were waiting for more designs to unlock before pledging ... but if everybody think this way then nothing is going to happen and it's very scary !!! Most of my stretch goals are pretty low in term of money and still, noone has joined since we reached the main goal 😟 Do you have any advice for this ?
I found this really interesting I have only just heard of kickstarter from following you. I would love a video from you about how you build an audience that cares .. thank you for taking the time to share this x
Very helpful, thank you for this video! I was wondering, with all your knowledge, maybe you could do a podcast/interview video collaboration with another succesful creator, who made a different type of project, and you could compare strategies and how the experiences differ? Maybe with someone who needed to involve and coordinate a small team of people?

Thank you for this video, it was so insightful. I will definitely watch it again when I'll start planning my own kickstarter 🥰
Did you find shipping to the US expensive and how did you deal with it?
