      I yet to hear the golden aperio haha maybe I should head down to my local distro for a demo session.

    Man i really love watching your reviews the comparisons with other headphones are really important thank you, I recently bought susvara with a really good deal new 4k USD$ after watching your comparison video of the susvara and 1266 and i can say they sound amazing so reference sounding i don't know how to say it 😅, and everything you said in that video was true but i need to power them correctly i don't think my amp (Sennheiser HDV820) can power them well enough tamber is amazing but there is not enough bass am thinking of getting Enleum-23R and demo the 1266 because i have a feeling i will like them too and maybe more i like the v shaped sound and love the hd800s from sennheiser and i think 1266 is hd800s with bass + details but man i can't let the susvara go now they do something special i don't know what it is but it's magical one of them is there is left to right bass imaging i didn't notice it on any other headphone i heard and that is so sick when it happens also can't wait for you to review the new Susvara or give an early impression if you got them.

      I don’t think I can borrow the sus back home to try and compare with the Immanis though. When comparing the Og with the unveiled, I do prefer the Og

    FR graph? Anyone?

      I don’t have the equipment to FR this. Frequency response from mindsp ears looks really off haha

    It was genuinely one of the worst headphones I heard at Munich high end, but its impedance is so low, that it might of been the amp messing with it. Shame I couldn't test it on RAALs own amplifiers.

      Hmmm it should be plugged in via the interface and not direct. It does inherit the amp sound and displays it quite an apparently. Also were you affected by the sibilance or something ?

    • @enjoshi-godrez8775
      @enjoshi-godrez8775 Місяць тому

      @ZPProductions it was a Felix envy through their transformer that converts it into the correct voltage. But it's possible the envy has a slightly nonlinear impedance. This would not be corrected by the converter, which is simply a step own voltage regulator.

      @ZPProductions no, not sibilance. I'm not really very sensitive to that anyway. It just sounded vailed, warm, and mushy. Also, what do you mean by warm sounding, but no frequencies stand out? A warm tuning would inherently have mid bass or lower mid rise.

      @@enjoshi-godrez8775 oh on that note, I dislike tubes with ribbon headphones. I didn’t try it with the Immanis but even with a much more tone down tube amp like mha200, my friend and I dont like it with the CA-1A. That said Raal does have a VMV-1A which is tube.

    • @ZPProductions
      @ZPProductions  Місяць тому

      Warm is in respect to some other headphone. But it’s very slight if u read my write up, not something enough to truly make it a stand out.
      My guess the veiled and warm mush is the tube amps. Last I tried my CA-1A with the MHA200, I get a very similar feel of it though maybe not as large of an extend. I’m guessing that tube amps and their interface exaggerates the tube signature hmm…

    I tried it at Canjam NYC on one of their amps and wasn't very impressed. It sounded warm and big. But also. It felt like it was lacking resolution. Vocals not amazing either.
    I was told by friends at Munich High End that the (or one of the) best pairing they heard with it was the setup at Canjam with the Feliks Envy. I want to try it with a setup like that when I can.

      I thought that one was terrible. I think your freind didn't notice, because I would decribe it exactly as you did. Diffuse, mushy and incoherent on the envy

      It shows how varied people’s preference are haha. That said this headphone is very sensitive to amps. Maybe it’s the low impedence or what

      @@ZPProductions if you would excuse the technical jargon, I think the main factor as to why perceptions are so different is the HPTF effects of having multiple drivers. HPTF being how consistent a headphone is over different heads. The multiple drivers are most likely leading to compound effects on each individual persons ear canal or HRTF. This creates the possibility of wildly different canal impedance profiles, which will wildly effect how midrange frequencies person to person. Far more than any conventional headphone.

    • @ZPProductions
      @ZPProductions  Місяць тому

      @@samburden5053 I know about the transfer function. The thing is ribbon drivers by nature emit sound throughout the width of ribbon and there’s no cross over. The drivers look identical so it should be producing sound no different from a planar headphones with just small gaps in between each driver. So it”s variance across people should be no better or worst then a planar. That said I’m no expert in this so maybe it’s plausible that multi driver and the mechanical variance between them cause some difference to people hmm…

      @@ZPProductions it's not the driver type, it's the fact it's using multi drivers in different positions. They are interacting with the pina and ear canal at different impedances, which creates a compound effect. There is a lot of research on the positioning of driver coupling in relation to impedance transfer principles. A lot of this was conducted after the hd800 and beyer T1 used unconventional driver placements to different effects.
