I've seen this waterfall in pictures, but the person who took the pictures said it was quite a trek to get there. Was it a difficult hike? Could you give directions to get there? My son-in-law fishes at Dunbar and knows the area fairly well, but he has never seen this spot.
It’s not too bad of a hike. You drive down a dirt road and there’s a pull off and it’s a short 2-3min hike down the hill. Unfortunately though from what I’ve heard from people, the owner of the property got upset and now has it blocked off so no one can go down there anymore :( I guess some kids were getting too out of hand and trashing the place.
I recently discovered this place. We have gone 4 times this year and it is on private property with trespassing signs all around. It is quite a trek, now at least. There’s a gate and it’s a little over a mile and a half and you go left down a hill from there, the trek is walking back up the hill to the car lol. The first time we met two other groups of people already there. For Father’s Day we took the family and two cars, when we were leaving there were people at the gate. Turns out it’s a Family Christian Camp, there’s always the option to join the camp and have access to it. they made it private because it used to be quite popular and people trashed it of course ! We haven’t been back since but it’s gorgeous. Oh and we left with two flat tires on Father’s Day
Yep I've been there before. Also a Christian camp four kids a long time ago. I went through my old church in canonsburg. The name of the camp was camp Carmel. I never had the guts to slide off the waterfall but it was a nice Serene place to swim. I don't remember how we got there
I went here as a kid while staying at the summer camp, another local christian camp had a short lived partnership with the camp on this road, afaik I was there during the last year. It's a really beautiful spot, I've had it stuck in my brain for over a decade! You got some really great footage of it too! Its a shame they've closed it off to folks but I've had a local swimming spot get swarmed by crowds so I suppose I understand. You brave sliding down the waterfall? I definitely did it as a kid but looking at it now I don't know if I'd be the first to slide down 😆 looks like it'd be easy to catch an ankle at the bottom. From what I remember there's also a decent cliff off the same road that we did some rock climbing at too 🤔
Hello!! I tried to find this specific place but failed last time! If somebody could give me specific directions on where to go after I park the car. Last time I parked the car, and walked over to this little bridge that went over the creek that I assume leads into this blue hole. (I have actually gone up here a couple times and ended up at the other blue hole springs place I guess THAT blue hole is near this one I guess but is NOT this place! If you could give me exact directions that would be awesome, When I walked up the path last year, it looked like someone put a rope, or chain across the trail a little ways up the trail, that blocked I’m assuming vehicles from entering and further. Anyway, we turned around At the chain block, not only because we had no signal and NO idea where the fuck we were going, but my friends girlfriend started acting like a psychopath and started screaming bloody murder for no reason. Soooo we packed up our 26 year old child and left lol . I’ve literally tried to find this place 3 years in a row on my birthday, and I wanna find it this year. :(
I ended up going down this dirt road and parking right before this little bridge that led up a hill and split off into two paths the right path just went up and popped us back to the main path which led us up another little hill that ended up being chained off
