For me, the golden age for ESO was during the Morrowind/Summerset expansions. Those expansions included a lot of things that made the game better, like the Warden class and Jewelrycrafting. This was also when they allowed 2h weapons to count as 2 items for set bonuses to allow for more build diversity. I don't remember having very many performance issues during this time, and all I did was Cyrodil and dungeons. Then it all went downhill from then.
Mmos usually peak 3-4 years after launch and become pathetic games with no creativity or soul after that. Same happened to GW2 well, it lasted 5 years before turning into trash
@@EvolutionIX219 Yeah, Elsweyr was good too. But the Morrowind/Clockwork City/Summerset chapter was my favorite. The Skyrim one was decent too. Storywise, I didn't like them reviving the members of the 5 companions that we chose to sacrifice previously. But I quit when they switched to account-wide achievements.
It started at 8 years in August of 2022 and after losing so many players the game never really recovered from that. We are seeing the results of it now
@@Hakagure “Best state it’s ever been.” I don’t think so the game is going down hill and people are leaving. SypherPK said it all. You must play a dev build 40k+ healer tank that hits like a wet noodle.
hardcore pvpers always have complaints and excuses no matter what. The fact that you are pvping in this game as opposed to playing some other game shows that.
@@ReadR00ster1 yes pvpers do always have complaints. But when your running around and every battle is a stalemate it’s boring and devs made it that ways because “there getting old and just want to survive.” You used to have to manage your resources heavily and be on your toes now it’s just lazy.
@Hakagure those titles are meaningless and any gh player knows performance is horrible when the bgs are out in peak hours so no the game isn't in the best state it's ever been...performance aside it's also in tge worst state it's ever been balance wise and they keep adding no thumb nonsense like the saints mythic and tuned up wardens you can pair it with northern storm to just stand there for the win
I knew Else and others were all going away eventually because ZOS didn't value it's players and content creators. It's sad and we're just forced to watch this game die because the devs are too self-absorbed to see what they are doing to kill it.
It's quite telling that ZOS keep bring back SypherPK over the years instead of support people like Deltia who was much more significant in getting people into PvP.
@@samuraichicken2315 Deltia is probably the most influential influencer in the beginning of ESO. And his enthusiasm is what got me to watch his vids. Too bad ZOS doesn't value that.
The letter is them underpromising on stuff the community wants and needs, And you can be sure they are even gonna underdeliver on what they promised in the letter.
The truth is Oakensoul broke this guy. I remember watching his video and he was so pissed. He literally couldn’t emotionally handle Oakensoul and Mara’s balm.
They are doing the same exact model destiny 2 has been doing recently, it's effectively low maintenance mode so they could work on something else, except bungie is actually in danger of just shutting down entirely. Eso has no future now, this is confirmation as they have decided it's not worth putting money into content and instead just farm out money from the cash shop. This isn't a decision made for the health of the game, it's made in preparation to let it die.
The devs wiped on crypt of hearts normal and later on several other dungeons they created live on normal with auto leveled toons and now they auto kill mobs to show of dungeons
I started playing this year with my wife on PC. We have over 500 hours and we are at the point where the cracks are showing. The fact that some of you have played since launch blows my mind. We are already getting tired of farming transmog
I expect them to “chapterify” the old zones. They’ll add wb and delves dailies for them and call that new content. The new hard mode will probably not scale the rewards so every mob pack will feel like fighting elites with lots of health and the same rewards.
Remember this is the same ZOS that released the nightblade class set "Umbral Edge" and didn't think how the set "Shadow Dancer" would interact. For anyone that doesn't know, those two sets in the last patch made you impossible to damage permanently after using cloak, which is why they nerfed cloak (and don't want to admit it) and why they also changed the set. ZOS is full of incompetent devs that don't know their own game. If you read the description of the sets, it was obvious what was going to happen and that they should have checked that #1 when making the sets. Complete stupid dev team that doesn't care.
Rich said in an ex Stream Team Q&A that he doesn't care what the players think and that he doesn't listen to them. This wasn't the only instance where he said something along those lines. I never could understand why players think this time will be different or that things will change when a new community manager shows up. When the Game Director repetitively shows he doesn't care why does anyone think that won't show up in the product?
Idk how i found this channel but I am so glad I did. I thought I was alone in this kind of thought - I’ve been getting so much hate for saying this same stuff for years. I seriously had no idea anyone felt this way, this game could be so much better but I feel like the devs have an insulting view of their fans.
More difficulty needs to be paired with better progression, better rewards, and more incentives. The revolving door of super casual players come to play the chapter. Overland is secondary. So it doesn't really matter if they don't want things harder. But the biggest issue with zos is they take too long to make changes and refuse to listen to players and make the big changes that are needed. Rewards will never be improved to a substantial level. Cyrodiil will never be improved to an acceptable level. They won't make any sacrifices or take any risks to achieve these things, so they will fail as always. Its sad that they don't see what they have here. Its sad they don't see the potential we do. Its sad they don't understand a great mmo, with a name like elder scrolls behind it, will make back any money they lose improving these things and then some. They were on a good roll after they fixed things early on til like morrowind. Then slowly things went downhill.
Also about community. This is such a massive issue with this game. And the reason is 2 fold. 1 they have hard focused on solo/casual players. And 2 they have driven away vet players. Content creators, guild leaders, addon creators, community leaders, regular long term players, etc. As much as they've tried to pretend this wasn't an mmo for the last 3 years, it is. And community matters in an mmo. A lot.
@@Hakagure thats a severe level of cope or misinformation. Im not sure which one. Both of the people you just named have been super soft when dealing with zos. Nefas especially up until the last year, and even then his criticism is light. And to say these guys didnt love eso is wild. Idk how long youve been playing but ive been here a long time. Ive seen it all. Watched a ridiculous amount of people leave. Content creators, pretty much all of them. Every friend i ever had in this game. And 99% of the time its not " ive done everything in eso, im satisfied, and im off to another game". Its " zos doesnt listen, they make bad choices, dont change things they need to, etc. etc. im out." No one cares about casual players. This is supposed to be an mmo. Its an eco system of all different types of players. The problem is they have hyper focused on trying to pull in the casual skyrim player over the last few years, by making the game more solo/casual based. That is not an mmo. I have been complaining about this for years, and now you see the result of it. And im a pvper first and always, i wont even touch on that mess here, but even i know the community, player base, and growth, are the most important things for an mmo like this. The casual players already had what they wanted, the chapter storyline. They dont have to constantly dumb things down and make everything so solo friendly and focused.
@@Hakagure Good point. So why dont you ask yourself why that is. Why is zenimax so at odds with its own player base. The reason is because they dont listen, never have listened, give us things we dont want, make changes we dont want or need or ask for, allow massive issues to go on for multiple years, communicate terribly, and refuse to change the things people overwhelmingly dislike. And if you're going to tell me the eso player base are different than any other player base, then im sorry but you are fool. People are people. But when you go look at GW2 or osrs or ff14 or even wow to some extent, you dont see anything like this. A stagnant or declining player base, where most of the audience is unhappy with the dev team for one reason or another. And parts of the audience, like the pvp community, has been completely destroyed by the dev team.
@@Hakagure im talking about a community overwhelmingly at constant odds with the developer. Ofc wow peaked in wrath and who knows with gw2 but its small. But that doesnt mean eso should accept mediocrity and be happy when they are constantly bleeding players. Even on steam its like 42k peak 16k now. Who knows what the actual numbers are but i know its waay less then it was when people were much more happy with the game. Eso has so much potential but not when you chase away long term players to focus on a revolving door of super casual players coming once a year to play the chapter. Those players will come anyway, you arent going to keep them. And again, you're a fool if you think eso players are some how different than other mmo players. I have news for you, a lot of us play multiple mmos and are part of these other communities, and dont feel the same way about those games. Its just such a weird take. Do you think i dont like eso? Ive put like 25k hours into it. So id say i like it. I remember how players have acted over the years. People have never been, overwhelmingly, this disappointed with zos. Sure people always complain about certain things. Rewards has always been one. Performance is another. But heres a news flash for you, most things people complain about have never changed. And most people dont freak out over every small change, as you say.
@@Hakagure and am i missing something or are you just breezing through years of updates? Things im guessing you maybe dont understand. you say deltia retired his paladin, im gonna assume you mean templar. You're probably talking about a while ago when they nerfed templar and it was bad for pvp and pve dps. So people stopped playing it. unless you were causal or like a pve healer. Just like the do in any game. Just like every warrior i knew back in classic swapped to pally for tbc. this is what people do. Then when its buffed, or viable to play it again, you play it. And im not sure what dps changes ur talking about. Update 35? Like a year or two ago? Or maybe a newer one i missed, but i dont remember any others. if its update 35 you missed the point. One of the big reasons people were upset with update 35 was not because they thought they wouldn't be able to dps anymore. Its a SIMPLE repetition of bad behavior by zos. A repetition of dumbing things down for casual players. That was the light attack nerf, in a long line of dumbing things down. Trying to make things easier for casual players, and making it harder for non casual players. When things were already easy enough with 1 bar oakensoul builds. And especially now with arcanist. And it failed btw. Just made it worse for casuals and vets alike. You strike me as someone from the outside looking in, that doesnt really understand the depth of a lot of these issues, and player disdain with zos. Its not as simple as you make it. Its years of bad changes and problems. I will take the time to educate you though.
Heartbreaking that he is 100% right with everything. I really hope a miracle will happen and they do something really great and catch me back...because i love the core of this game so much but at the state that it is since a long time, i can't play and be commited anymore. I am really sad right now😢😢😢😢
Not a PVP player myself, but my heart goes out to that community. Between ZoS making promises they never intended or tried to keep and the toxic casuals, you guys really do get the shaft EVERY year.
The issue is they are trying to make a profit, not a good game. Make a good game=profit, it's simple, imo push away all the toxic culture of "casual gamers" because they are suppressing growth by making zos scared they will leave but u will gain new players if the game was difficult, the options are endless when u make things difficult. If you have an easy game then you can't have unlimited options of what to do nor set the bar higher with the rewards making it easier to do the harder content, then the new content is harder than before. Now you have a progressive learning curve and experience curve. Going higher and reaching the top of the mountain is way more fun and engaging than walking on a flat path to do a fetch quest.
@Hakagure then you're unaware look at the most profitable games. They all are good games that are what ppl want not whatever the company tells them they need so they can make profit.
@@Hakagure elden ring fortnite pacman Mario smash brothers minecraft gta v the list goes on of generation changing games, and it takes 30seconds to find out, look at all the games that just try seek profit or are just pay to win, look at ubisoft 10years ago when they were making games ppl want, now look at them making nft games in 2024 they are an example of greed and zos is heading down the same greedy path that all failed mmos have. Empty promises always talking good about statistics from years ago and making content a seasonal thing that ppl will have to pay for. Make a game pay to get reward, pay to play, pay to win then the game will die and eso is doing 2 of them atm. But that's simply because the content is too easy to be p2w so they can't take advantage of that. Companys often make a good product then get greedy and die or the product is good enough that they can be greedy and the product can survive but eso is not a good enough product for that to be the case.
@Hakagure that confirms how delusional u are. It's not bad to promote monitisation when u have a succesful product. You just call everything u don't like slop so not gonna waste my time on someone who uses feelings over objective truth and patterns
@@Im_gethin as casual gamers most developers that are making brainrotted content are kinda insulting the intelligence of many casual gamers. Just because we are playing a game casually does not mean that we do not want interesting mechanics and systems. I am a casual but I really love PoE 2.
Right?! I wss playing for 8 years. About a year ago i left and it felt like new found freedom😂 Out of a toxic Relationship finally lol Played so many good games since then that i had no time before ❤
Honestly, if you are still playing ESO either you are a new player or you are just deluded. Zenimax has been pissing on players and calling it rain for years now and you still there with your mouth open.
The first MMO I played, was Asheron's Call. The levelling system in that game was a glacial and excruciating climb. The formula was Int32 based, so around 4,286,609,098 XP was needed to hit the 126 max level (though there were add-ons that simulated your level beyond hitting 126). As a player in my mid 50s, meeting a level 126 player was like meeting God. The AC world was divided into regions where even the trash mobs had "skulls" next to their names; meaning instant death. If you died, a portion of your worn gear and some items from your inventory were left on your corpse. Meaning, you now had to retrieve your corpse which was suicide because you were now less equipped than you were when you died. I remember having "corpse run sets" in the bank that were pure defense stacked with no DPS. There were other horrors involved with corpse runs such as stat penalties, which meant casting would "fizzle" more, but it was a nightmare all around. ...and here's the kicker, it was glorious. I'm not even going to get into the PK (PvP) side of the game. In ESO, a level 36 player can fight the same content as a level 3,600 player. There are no gods in ESO, just people that have been around longer. There's no regions of "certain death" for low level players and no real penalty for dying. It's a pre-school playground where every kid gets a trophy (monster) and a sticker for their book (item sets) just for showing up; literally.
At one time, ESO was one of the big three MMOs. Now, it’s not even in the conversation. Pathetic how it’s fallen while other MMOs around the same age have excelled. Developers fault.
@@choonblaze GW2 shits on ESO at any time of the day. It's not even comparable. Better combat, better PvP, better world mechanics. I say this, as a former ESO player with 6k hours under my belt.
@@soundculture272 wrong. GW2 is a buff spamfest with barely any new content. Seems like you've been whaling away for a while and disillusioned. No one gives af about gw2. Nobody plays it. Always low player numbers and barely gets any new content. Spend your money wisely kid, or spend your mommy's money wisely even.
If overworld content was harder I’d actually play. Nothing rewarding about a fight that you could have beaten with your eyes closed. I grind skyshards and dungeons for skill points, I never bothered clearing story content because it was INCREDIBLY boring. If they make it harder maybe I’d actually do it
honestly, maybe it's only me but, champ system and 95% of all sets must be deleted from the game, not only from pvp but from game, it's just no need in it
I've been pointing out for years now that Matt Firor has always been a bad game director despite some outdated successes in the past which was mostly him riding on the coattails of more talented people. I wonder now if he might have been responsible for driving away some of the more talented employees at Zenimax like Nick Konkle who wanted to implement real spellcrafting in 2014, or Paul Sage who was replaced by Rich Lambert for creative director... When Lawrence Schick left and then his replacement left after only 2 years, the writing quality plummeted hard. There's just very little talent left at the studio.
This guy summed up quite well what so many of us have been feeling/saying for a decade. With that said, as someone who spent almost a full year playing Ravenwatch weekly with a guild every Fri & Sat when both No-Proc and No-CP was still a thing, the performance there was no better than in Greyhost or Blackreach. All it ever took was for the population to go up during prime time to bring performance down. Now, whether that means what he said on that specific part was incorrect OR just simply proves that the entire game is a mess is certainly up for discussion.
He said it well, game is maintenance modeing it's way into a dead game phase right now. 💀I hope all ESO content creators find a better game that also respects them and their time so the creators can find better success also. It's not easy for content creators for sure as it's not easy for players also. See you all in other games that work better and have solid content! And happy holidays to everyone! 🎁
@ that’s what we all said….two years after release. Hey, if you’re loving it, then love it; just know the game has fallen hard from where it was, and the folks who run it don’t care about the game, it’s world, or you.
I bet this new "Year of Performance & Content" will be their worst year ever, if uses their previous track record as a metric of what is to come. RIP ESO.
I warned them 4 years ago this was going to happen when ZoS_ConnorG was on the ban spree. I quit ESO (only popping in from time to time now instead of being my main) on the release of Oakensoul. That was the end for me. The game died to me that day.
Re: overland: it's not the difficulty, it's the sameness. With a monster set + crafted set + overland set, I basically run into overland mobs and watch my proc, pets and companions burn them down. I can essentially AFK any non-boss fight. There's literally nothing new. Change the name and quest text, it's basically the same.
It’d be a better move to change out the devs rather than change the game systems at this point. 10 years and there hasn’t been any real innovation in the last few years. Dude not knowing heavy attack restores resources is reason enough for termination in my POV. Cant believe he’s a lead anything…
About the lead combat dev disaster: I'm convinced that he's great with the spreadsheets or whatever he uses to do the math that runs the sets, but hasn't really played the game. The live stream showed that. There are still a good number of PvP streamers, they should have brought them in to debut this new thing.
Bruh my mans didnt know how heavy attacks worked, thats literally tutorial level information, i stopped eso shortly after gold road just cause i was bored but seeing such incompetence in charge of an entire section of this game is BAFFLING
Such a shame what ESO turned out to be nowadays... it could have been so bloody awesome if they actually were competent enough to get it to work out. So happy that i'm a GW2 player mainly, and only rarely went to check this game out...
How would giving everyone the same skills to use in player versus player environments do anything to fix performance? Remember when they said they were going to fix cross healing and reduce twenty four man groups into twelve man groups to improve performance, and it didn't improve anything? All we got was a huge nerf to the fun of Cyrodiil when they nerf, the twenty four man group into twelve and it caused a lot of grouping up issues and killed the community gradually. They're not going to fix it. This suggested change isn't anything other than a facade. To convince anybody with even a minuscule level of copium, in them that maybe this time, maybe this time they will fix it
@@Hakagurei think you should take your own advice about critically thinking, because anybody who has been paying attention would realize that is not a realistic approach, nor would it actually have any impact. It's just empty words meant to fool people that don't know better If the whole problem is excess calculations, then maybe they should stop making proc sets. That require calculations and checks. Skills shouldn't be an issue, and if you listen to the video, there's proof during mid year mayhem, that they are not the issue
What? Management for an MMO disrespecting players? Zenimax would never! Unrelated, anyone remember the drop rates on the Anniversary Jubilee style pages or the frustration in zone chat from people who'd ran 200+ world events with no drops? It's great to have players feel rewarded for their time. Scratch that, they're not players, they're "community" and their feedback is "valued"...
As a relatively casual player myself (I still use Oakensoul for solo play for goodness sake), I hate the idea of ESO becoming even more casual than it already is.
as casual gamers most developers that are making brainrotted content are kinda insulting the intelligence of many casual gamers. Just because we are playing a game casually does not mean that we do not want interesting mechanics and systems. I am a casual but I really love PoE 2.
I personally think they don't listen at all. Therea no way they listen to people having the same complaints for a decade and not doing a single thing to fix them
Its too late for eso. TOO MANY people left years ago making changes now is too late. People are gone many deciding to never come back regardless of changes. They couldnt keep the player base or grow it enough when it mattered. They only care now when they realized the handful of remaining players isnt making their sponsors wallets happy.
Last time I played during Midyear, we had so much lag and problems trying to get through our trifecta runs. Maybe cyrodil was okay but it was not playable anywhere else in the game...
I log in, see the game is generally the same but with more content and play till I complete it. Everyone seems to be having fun and I still see new player constantly. Why is the UA-cam community such a depressing mess? I know there are some issues like every other game but it’s not game breaking whatsoever and the in game community seems happy.
If I have to pay even $1 canadian dollar for season stuff with the ESO+ in 2025 to speed unlock the stuff. Im leaving for good, it just mean their desperate for money and to greed took 110% over. Im in this toxic relationship for 10 years ( sure, with months/ year of pauses) and there almost nothing less holding me back. Game is still as shitty as when I left after summerset isle.
PoE2 was/is partly so successful because it has a reasonable level of difficulty. Bosses you need to think about. PoE2 has problems, but even with those issues it is still 100x better than ESO. The age of 'press button, get loor' thankfully seems to be coming to an end.
I've been playing other games and living my life. I'm glad I went to the Las Vegas event. It was fun. I'll come back when they buff overland and see how it is, but otherwise, I don't really care at this point.
Revamping the overworld difficulty to be harder is going to drive more people away than it attracts And say this for 2 reasons. 1. The devs have a history of swinging too far in the opposite direction whenever they make sweeping balance changes like this 2. The way power is obtained is a hamster wheel that many veterans are so tired of because it involves either shelling out $20 for 2 dungeons or paying $15 for ESO+ and no-lifing the dungeons until you get the new geat sets…only for it to change again in 3 months That hasn’t actually changed AT ALL. Seasons are going to be a sad attempt at a cash grab before the game inevitably shuts down. Watch the season pass have OP gear sets locked behind a premium tier ESO is dying. I hate using that phrase, and I use it as rarely as possible. If anything, I’m the first to fight back against that claim whenever it comes up with most games. But this time? I stand by that statement It’s not dead until it’s shut down. But the game is currently dying
I guess everything is relative. IF you think ZOS has been pissing on its players, then you have not played New World. I came to ESO after being so pissed off by New World and how they treat their players. In comparison, ZOS is like a kind grandfather taking care of its players through the design of ESO. I felt so comfortable and being taken care of when playing ESO. But having said that, I see that they are increasing the difficulties of overland content, just like New World LOVE to do so as to make your life miserable so that you have to spend real cash to buy their mount so that you can rush past through difficult mobs that line the landscape every 5 meters and it is impossible to travel far without a mount. I hope ESO will take much care when tuning the difficulties of overland content. There are players who enjoy difficult contents, but that cannot be said for everyone. These players are gamers, but there are casual 'grandmother', 'grandfather' grade 'players'. THEY ARE NOT GAMERS. They just want to entertain themselves and not to be stressed up by playing a game. Just saying in case all these ppl think everyone is a gamer like themselves. Different ppl get different entertainment value out of a game. It is not about just difficult challenges. For me for example, I enjoy more completing collection, whether it is to fulfill every achievements in-game, collecting every gear set, max-ing up all skillsets, all rapports, all companions skill and level, visiting all map objective and what-have-you. I hate challenges, especially PvP content. THat is why I don't touch PvP at all. There are different kind of players who enjoy different kind of play. And don't tell these player to not play ESO because they don't like difficult content. That is way too arrogant and self-assuming. Just saying.
I believe the biggest problem ESO has is no real alternative! My wife and I are on Playstation. We fell in love with ESO because of the lore and the richness of the content - and the Beauty of it!! I can still spend hours just taking a walk in Bangkorai! We tried Final Fantasy Online several times. I know several ESO players made the jump. We just cannot. The graphics are worse, the environment is not as beautiful, the controls are terrible. We tried New World (catastrophe). When Throne and Liberty arrived, half of our guild moved over! A month later, everyone was back. We tried Destiny2. Toxic. Currently, no matter how bad Zos messes up, we just keep coming back. Because, for most of us, there is nowhere else to go. And this is a bad thing. If there was a real competitor for exactly this niche, Zos would be forced to up the game.
It's indeed the best advice for the game: just get back after some years to check if anything worked out, there's a ton of new amazing titles to be caught in ESO prison nowadays. Not worth stressing out or pay that close of an attention.
Honestly, playing the game is still fun and engaging. But for content creators, it's not just about "hey, I don't enjoy the game anymore, I'm gonna play something else", it's now milking the negativity from other content creators, and then the cycle continue endlessly. I know for sure someone else will use this exact video as an example to make their own "reaction" video on why ESO is dead, and so on so forth.
It is almost universal that when you see a player who think a game must be played this way (basically their way), that player should be geared this way (Tank gear for tank, healing gear for healer etc), etc etc, you are actually seeing a frustrated players. When they say 'Why play this game when you .' For example, 'Why play this game when you don't enjoy challenges?'. Back in my mind I was thinking 'Why play this game when you feel so frustrated playing it?'. A game is supposed to ENTERTAIN and make you happy. You are not supposed to be frustrated or stressed up. If that is so, then you are NOT PLAYING YOUR GAME RIGHT. Dude, go and learn to how to play a game. It is supposed to make you happy.
I blame the community for letting them get away with the last scaleback. Small 2nd zone was dropped to allow team to make that tricky once a year content deadline 🤔🙄
After playing eso for 9 years its time to just let it die. I went to play warframe because supposedly they care about their game and community but Im just so burned out that I dont feel like playing that either or any online game every grind just feels like a chore. Its a pointless endeavor and nothing is fun anymore to me.
The reality is that they destroyed the game when they hybridized. All the classes all the races. All the weapons all the play styles and it just became everyone's doing the same thing. On top of that , the performance issues are never gonna end because this is written on the old old engine and they are going to have to Create. An elder scrolls two on a new engine
As far as the difficulty goes. MMOs have a hige problem. As a game gets bigger the player population gets diluted. If you have diffucult group content itbwill be unplayable 5 years from now. The there just wont be anyone around to complete the group content. Most people will be playing the newest expansion.
Also MMOs are a bit of an older model. Most people don’t want to grind anything. They prefer the tiktok brain rot formula of CoD. Etc. MMO players as a whole are an aging player base. So there’s always going to be a bleeding effect going forward.
He already left the game After fail on project vitality he stopped playing other ESO content and after his last trial trifecta -Mindmender he stopped playing it entirely.
If they don't pay attention to us, real PROs who LOVE THE ESSENCE OF TES, then who are they paying attention to? The woke noobs is the only thing that comes to my mind "I'll create the greatest game ever so they can go to a certain city to spend their whole day blaspheming in vc and showing people how to be weak and lame, and that's absolutely fine, we don't need mods anyways" The real problem of the developers not even understanding about core combat, aiming the camera, canceling animations, or basically ANYTHING, is that how you plan to offer your TRUE SERIOUS PLAYERS a BALANCED GAME????? That's MY CONCERN right now, winning EVERY DUEL in the ESO has become as simple as getting a DK with zaans, SD or PB and corrosive. The current state of the online version of our favorite franchise is reduced to use either Jerrals, Malubeth, or Zaans with (necessarily) arena weapons so you can stack SEs and do nothing else because they've also overbuffed the dots they proc. I love TES, I trust Bethesda and ZoS CARES about the dreamers dream, but sadly some their highest positions are only there for BUSINESS and not for LOVE. META is the logical outcome for better performance in any game. CHEESING is abusing the META so you become unfairly competent, the shortcut for noobs. There are like 200 sets in the game and to be "G" you can really only use like 10 of them??? Yeah, well THAT ruins the whole experience, mostly because the WHOLE POINT of the ENTIRE GAME PROPOSITION is DIVERSIFICATION, but I guess they took it SO LITERAL that instead of FIXING THE ACTUAL GAME TOWARDS DIVERSITY THEY REALLY JUST ENTICE PEOPLE TO BE LIKE FREAKING TANLORIN or whatever her name is. If you know what I mean. They need to fire the whole combat DEV team, and hire ACTUAL PVPers, HONEST PVPers, PRO PVPers, so we can help maintain the game WORTH of everyone's time. Kill the woke vibe already, we don't need this huge and ridiculous amount of BS. FGS.
If ESO wanted player input, they only need to go online and ask the players. I've played daily for 8 years and have never seen an ESO employee playing online.
I stopped playing years ago; I played it on pe4 from beta to the first expansion…the. Gave it another try on pc with morrowind. I absolutely hate hate hate how everything is gear based. Grinding gear to make a build is so freaking annoying and the meta gear is so powerful there is zero reason to use any other gear sets. Why design so much unique gear if it’s not worth using them. I got my cp to around 670 before I uninstalled the content is just boring, gameplay boring, and no real meaningful progression.
I mean he is pissed about PvP mainly. The chapters are a bit cookie cutter of late and with Streamers not making content of ESO as much anymore obviously there are issues. I still love the game and totally wish they fix certain things.
As an on and off again eso raider for the better part of 10 years (first ps4 then pc) I have left. Frankly I strongly disliked the bulk of the endgame community and frankly I disliked the dungeon content in eso. There’s legit nothing to do outside of dungeon/pvp/raid once you have farmed your bis sets and xmuted and golded them to perfection-no carrot to chase. Trifectas aren’t engaging content as it’s legitimately waiting for the dumbest person to finally comprehend the mechanics they have been failing for months. Hard modes are a joke. Abilities not firing off when pressed due to lag and shit servers is borderline game breaking especially when doing trifecta content where perfection is required. Personally I still very much enjoy MMOs. I have gone over to retail wow. It’s infinitely better. Mythic raids are tuned difficult but not impossible. Mythic plus (dungeon content) is actually challenging and fun repeatable dungeon content. PvP is ok, but it’s definitely back burner content for me. Seasonal content works for vertical progression mmos like wow by adding a higher ilvl. The problem with ESO is a vertical progression system was implemented and abandoned with the vr ranks in favor of a horizontal progression system.
Yes but is that way of thinking about not getting mad about ESO cause there is better stuff to do yes of course but still me and all ppl spent the money and the game is all fucked up and i Will not get my money back and i play since day 1 i have 11/12 k hours on This game and still manage to stop 2/3 Times for 1 year each ; and the thing is ppl who bought This game since day 1 ppl bought it cause was a PvP game ; year after year devs ONLY care about PvE and RN even the PvE players left the game cause no point to spent time where everything is ez i remenber when Maelstrom was hard and ONLY a few players get flawless conqueror ; RN a guy with One week or 2 with average sets enter Maelstrom and do flawless ez ; i had a lot of ppl who they had like 3 months progression grp in trials 3 Times per week etc ; and ppl can complete new trials hm in One week or less rn; so games like This should have patchs and fixs all the time not only 3 months and balance sets instantly etc not waiting for 3 months to do that ; they made so stupid changes no 1 wants that ; and if they think making the game ez is the best why every1 left the game ; This kind of game should be hard and thats it not every1 Will like This type of games ; same for Diablo per example is about grinding and Diablo devs take the grind just to make the game more ez that doenst make sense if ppl dont want to loose time with grind dont play Diablo ; if ppl on ESO dont want to spent time to BE good like was before go play Minecraft is thats Simple like that . They try to make the game ez to get more players = + money for them and ended to get nothing cause the veteran players left the game ; PvP is a mess so no 1 really Cares rn ; and PvE players just left cause they dont have nothing "hard " to do like before . But yes is true ppl have better things to do yes thats why i stop to play This game 1 year ago but is also true too i Will not get my money back and In the end i feel This company Cook me for years fuck the game i main i spent a lot of time a lot of money and in the end i dont get nothing back thats it only good moments with ppl i met in ESO
hey, no one knows who I am because I'm actually a hidden ESO DEV watching UA-cam vids, but I can't take it anymore... If everyone here tip me $5, I'll fix server issues. Believe me 😇
Get rid of auto aim and make people actually use their aiming ability. Suddenly making a very high speed and stamina regen player will be fun and useful. Tank meta vould be beaten if theu cant hit anything.
ESO winding down isn't even a bad thing, the games still going to be here, it's not going anywhere and a game still receiving content updates is not one on it's death bed. If they can make the huge wealth of content we already have better via updating the core game then I'm good for it, 100%, and fundamental updates to things like gameplay fluidity are so needed it's not even funny. Optimal play looks so incredibly visually janky.
Skinnycheeks was willing to bust his ass to give them actual good ideas and they said nah, pass.
This was the last one I paid for. Last time it felt fun and worth the price.
Elsweyr was a great dlc. The Skyrim one was decent but was the start of the downward slope imo
The golden age for me ended with greymoor
@@EvolutionIX219 Yeah, Elsweyr was good too. But the Morrowind/Clockwork City/Summerset chapter was my favorite. The Skyrim one was decent too. Storywise, I didn't like them reviving the members of the 5 companions that we chose to sacrifice previously. But I quit when they switched to account-wide achievements.
It's sad how 10 years turns into shit.
It started at 8 years in August of 2022 and after losing so many players the game never really recovered from that. We are seeing the results of it now
If you were a hardcore PvP player, you would have known our disappointment over the past few years.
@@Hakaguretell me you're a blackreach player without tellin me 😂
@Hakagure those titles are meaningless and any gh player knows performance is horrible when the bgs are out in peak hours so no the game isn't in the best state it's ever been...performance aside it's also in tge worst state it's ever been balance wise and they keep adding no thumb nonsense like the saints mythic and tuned up wardens you can pair it with northern storm to just stand there for the win
Golden pursuits is basically a season pass. All they got to do is combine golden pursuits and endeavors, have free version and premium paid version.

Increase Animation effects? Aren't we canceling effects to increase DPS? thx!
PVP lead game designer didn't know about long attack power restore
Did they really? Wow. Makes a lot of sense considering the decisions they make.
Finally a take that's not high on copium. ESO content creators and community are weird like that.
I started playing this year with my wife on PC. We have over 500 hours and we are at the point where the cracks are showing. The fact that some of you have played since launch blows my mind. We are already getting tired of farming transmog
500hrs you havnt even scratched the surface with that amount off hours tbh your only at the beginning. Try 20,000hrs over 10 years.
I played for 6 years, I was 1400+ CP by the time I left. I got tired of it even back then.
Its " zos doesnt listen, they make bad choices, dont change things they need to, etc. etc. im out."
No one cares about casual players.
The Best game run by the Worst Admin/Devs in gaming.
The ZOS dev team actually became like the SWTOR dev team.

This is every dev team in gaming now. Eso, swtor, wow, lotro claiming "toxicity" to shut down criticism is a tool they all use.
You just call everything u don't like slop so not gonna waste my time on someone who uses feelings over objective truth and patterns

such as?
sadly, i disagree.
Felt the same about destiny 2, I'm having a blast on ESO
Really? It's still 5 times bigger than GW2 in terms of player population and revenue
@ Sadly, being bigger than GW2 doesn’t correlate to being in the big 3, or not falling from grace.
@@choonblaze GW2 shits on ESO at any time of the day. It's not even comparable. Better combat, better PvP, better world mechanics. I say this, as a former ESO player with 6k hours under my belt.

If overworld content was harder I’d actually play. Nothing rewarding about a fight that you could have beaten with your eyes closed. I grind skyshards and dungeons for skill points, I never bothered clearing story content because it was INCREDIBLY boring. If they make it harder maybe I’d actually do it
A harder fight for the same 6 gold? Nty.
someone should send this video to puppy
honestly, maybe it's only me but, champ system and 95% of all sets must be deleted from the game, not only from pvp but from game, it's just no need in it
I've been pointing out for years now that Matt Firor has always been a bad game director despite some outdated successes in the past which was mostly him riding on the coattails of more talented people.
The guild I was in that had multiple terminally online ESO players have all quit and is now a dead guild. This game is failing hard
He said it well, game is maintenance modeing it's way into a dead game phase right now. 💀I hope all ESO content creators find a better game that also respects them and their time so the creators can find better success also.
Oh rich plays the game and is a better player than most lol
Bruh my mans didnt know how heavy attacks worked, thats literally tutorial level information, i stopped eso shortly after gold road just cause i was bored but seeing such incompetence in charge of an entire section of this game is BAFFLING
Zos would never bring in pvper's that actually still play. They would be roasted both on game play and what it needs
It's just empty words meant to fool people that don't know better
If the whole problem is excess calculations, then maybe they should stop making proc sets. That require calculations and checks.
Skills shouldn't be an issue, and if you listen to the video, there's proof during mid year mayhem, that they are not the issue
it’s just sad logging into cyrodiill and getting farmed by ball groups that our entire server can’t kill
Problem is even if they make these things happen they say which i doubt. Even then its too littel too late. RIP eso

"Moderately acclaimed" gave me a good laugh.😂

The sad thing is that I still love this game. 😢
Whew thank god i don't do any pvp or trial content
I log in, see the game is generally the same but with more content and play till I complete it. Everyone seems to be having fun and I still see new player constantly.
Revamping the overworld difficulty to be harder is going to drive more people away than it attracts
And say this for 2 reasons.
1. The devs have a history of swinging too far in the opposite direction whenever they make sweeping balance changes like this
2. The way power is obtained is a hamster wheel that many veterans are so tired of because it involves either shelling out $20 for 2 dungeons or paying $15 for ESO+ and no-lifing the dungeons until you get the new geat sets…only for it to change again in 3 months
That hasn’t actually changed AT ALL.
Seasons are going to be a sad attempt at a cash grab before the game inevitably shuts down. Watch the season pass have OP gear sets locked behind a premium tier
ESO is dying. I hate using that phrase, and I use it as rarely as possible.
If anything, I’m the first to fight back against that claim whenever it comes up with most games.
But this time?
I stand by that statement
It’s not dead until it’s shut down.
But the game is currently dying
#ESOFam was actually just ZOS all along.
To listen and to understand what is beaing said are two different things XD
Maybe it'll be ok but New World looks 🔥 for 2025. They have an actual roadmap and console cross servers now.
I know for sure someone else will use this exact video as an example to make their own "reaction" video on why ESO is dead, and so on so forth.
hahaha so true
Yeah true
Its really a giant human centipede
Hybridization ruined the game
I traipse around in overworld as a tank in a tank set. Buffing overworld would pose a challenge. Lol
I blame the community for letting them get away with the last scaleback. Small 2nd zone was dropped to allow team to make that tricky once a year content deadline 🤔🙄
Renaming quarterly updates as seasons is a stroke of genius though... Wonder if they are already working on ToT 2.0?
They engaged in an arms race that ultimately contributed to cyrodiils demise
This game is a joke.
Is Nefas the last of the big ESO content creators?
He already left the game
After fail on project vitality he stopped playing other ESO content and after his last trial trifecta -Mindmender he stopped playing it entirely.
@ewapiksrandeb3966 Yeah, but he's still making videos on ESO which is more than most.
Yeah but on paper he quit
Grifter status
4 days ago he announced he's done and leaving eso forever
FGS.
golden pursuit was a precursor to all of this
Sad all this stuff what most of us have been asking for years
look unless its an issure with the crown store Zenilag isnt going to do anything about it
Got out of this toxic game years ago... Not worth the effort
If ESO wanted player input, they only need to go online and ask the players. I've played daily for 8 years and have never seen an ESO employee playing online.
That guy have a fair video
lmao new world has season passes and just look at how many ppl play that game R.I.P
Take away the skills I'm gone. The skills class ect make the game what it is 😢
I stopped playing years ago; I played it on pe4 from beta to the first expansion…the.
Bro cooked their ice heart and ate it 😂
As an on and off again eso raider for the better part of 10 years (first ps4 then pc) I have left.
In order to be less predictable we will be doing the most predictable thing any game of this modern day will do
3 is garanteed to cause more lag
$40 seasonal battle pass inc aka destiny 2 its a big cash grab🤣🤣🤣
even more sad ESO maybe there only game under there belt that has a constant cash coming in
ESO winding down isn't even a bad thing, the games still going to be here, it's not going anywhere and a game still receiving content updates is not one on it's death bed. If they can make the huge wealth of content we already have better via updating the core game then I'm good for it, 100%, and fundamental updates to things like gameplay fluidity are so needed it's not even funny. Optimal play looks so incredibly visually janky.
If ya'll just bought more crown crates, they'd be able to finance more of the changes we want 👀 ~ZOS 3:5
1T screwed it up from go
Damn, bro is making a lot of videos about a game he doesn't give a sh*t about anymore....
Finally, raising overland difficulty-because that’s exactly how to keep veteran players engaged. Revolutionary idea, Hooray!
bro who does overland content? you run tamriel to farm mats or to farm exp for new characters....all play trials, group dungeons, and cyro...
